All. The. Time.
I love classic liner colors — black, brown, gray — and seriously, you can never go wrong with a black classic cat eye, but I also think it’s fun to switch things up from time to time
If you haven’t tried colorful liners before, summer is a great time to start. 🙂 Metallics, glitters, teals, greens, blue.
It doesn’t have to be over the top, either. A thin line along your upper lash line is all it takes for a quick flash of color.
Or…you could go all-in with a fatty-bo-batty line!
How about you? How often do you wear colorful eyeliner?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. What’s shakin’, bacon? What did I miss? I took the afternoon off yesterday because I wasn’t feeling very well, but I feel much better today. Got any plans for the Fourth?

Colorful eyeliner seems to be a summer thing for me. I’ve never gotten bright with pinks, oranges, yellows, or limes, but thinking back I realize I go for blue, teal, or purple mostly in the summer.
Glad you’re feeling better! We’re about to head out for a long drive to visit my brother-in-law and his family. We always have a great time so it makes the loooooong drive worth it 🙂

I stick to Browns, black, blue & green but break out the bright colors when Im on vacation down south…

All the time! It’s one of my very favourite ways for adding something fun without having to take too much time or effort 🙂 i’m trying to get more experimental with just having a bright lower lash line, too!
My favourite colours are cobalt, turquoise and purple, with or without (but let’s be honest, preferably *with*) sparkle!

I do wear colorful eyeliner occasionally, mostly purple, on my lower lashline to contrast a neutral eye makeup.
I hope you’re feeling better Karen. I had to take today and tomorrow off cause what I thought was allergies, turned out to be bronchitis. I am glad my husband dragged me to see a doctor this morning. Normally my parents in law have a big 4th of July party, which is my favorite family gathering, but since my father in law is in a hospital, no party this year 🙁

A fair amount. One of my fave eyeliners is UD in LSD. I love the edgy, glittery navy blue. UD has some amazing liners and I have a few of them, both full size and in travel size (from a kit). One of my fave eye looks is UD in Morphine (a shimmery, iridescent lavender shadow stick) paired with either the LSD or Junkie eyeliner. It looks ethereal, cool, and makes eye colors pop. I love Laura Mercier, too, because her eye pencils are a cool twist on neutrals. Stormy Gray and Black Violet are incredibly flattering without being in-your-face different. If you look closely there are a lot of fine detailing, like iridescence and different shades, in both.

Aqua Blue, Purple , green, Teal blue are some of my must haves.. 😀

Not very often! And even when I do wear eyeliner, they’re still in neutral colours. However, I am trying to experiment a bit with colours like eggplant, forest green and burgundy, which can be colourful AND neutral at the same time.

I love wearing colorful liner! it adds a nice pop of color without having to do a whole bright eye shadow look

I’ve been known to break out the blue this summer. Other than that, it’s blackened brown (Bobbi Brown Black Chocolate and Black coffee), brown or blackened plum (Laura Mercier black violet, BB black violet) for me. I seldom do straight black, either.

I have a ton because I can’t resist how pretty they are. But for me they’re out of my confort zone so I don’t use them so often and I tend to gravitate towards black and Brown.

I’m relatively new to anything other than “standard” black eyeliners, which I have probably fifty of (!) but, boy, have I embraced color in the last six months or so ! I’ll try a purple, blue, teal, or khaki green, usually from Urban Decay (I have all 40 shades of the 24/7 Glide On Pencils !) with a more subdued daytime look, but for night it’s now no-holds-barred since I discovered life beyond black !
Keeping blush to a minimum and a very subtle lip, like MAC’s Lipglass in Lust mixed with Snob, I’ve done Jazzberry and (Th)ink by Marc Jacobs, or Canary and Mint Julep from Stila. Another fave is using NARS Exhibit A – an orange-red – with a dampened brush under my lash line while using the blacker than black Perversion on my waterlines – if done with a light hand it’s edgy without being goth, important for me at age 40-something 🙂
FreshEyre says
*** Forgot to note that NARS Exhibit A is a blush, not an eyeliner, but since it bombed for me as a cheek color I improvised with the pricey purchase, and receive compliments every time I wear it. I get lots of “You’re wearing… red ?!?! I’ll have to try that… !”
Dee says
I would wear it ALL the time if I could but working in a formal office doesn’t make it easy:( I still wear my blues and purples to work but I reserve my *bright* blues and purples and teals etc for the weekend or when I’m on holiday! 🙂
Dee says
Oh also…whats that pinky-violety-fuschia purple thats in your stash here Karen??
