Last week I told myself, “Self, if you run at least three times this week, you can get yourself something from your Lust List, and ya know what? It totally worked! And now I get to treat myself to a pair of Senita shorts, woo-hoo! 🙂
Does this mean that I no longer have the itch to give any more cute things a happy home (a.k.a. SHOP TILL I DROP)? Nope!
Hence my latest Lust List…
- Ann Taylor Stripe Puff-Sleeve Linen Sunday Tee ($39.50) — Why is it so hard to find a decent striped tee?? I think I may have finally found THE ONE, though. It’s from Ann Taylor. The stripes are the right width, and there aren’t too many of them. It’s black and white, which goes with everything, and I like the puffy sleeve action in the shoulders. Everything I’ve gotten from Ann Taylor also holds up well, so I’m hoping that it won’t spring holes after I wash and wear it a few times. Since Ann Taylor has 40-60% off sales every other second (no, seriously, they do a LOT), I’m going to wait until this one goes on sale.
- Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote & Wristlet ($48) — I’ve been really into totes lately, because sometimes it’s nice to just reach in and grab what I need without having to dig through hella pockets. But it can’t just be any old tote. The size, shape and weight of said tote is a really big deal (at least it is for me), and this reversible faux leather tote by Street Level ticks off all the right boxes. It’s slim, lightweight and roomy, but not overtly big. It comes in a bunch of colors, too. I have the Black/Cognac one pictured above, but the Sage/Ivory also looks super pretty). This one is $48 and comes with a matching wristlet. WANT!
- Viseart Sultry Muse Satin Eyeshadow Palette ($80) — I feel that the Viseart Neutral Matte Palette I got a few weeks ago needs a satiny sister to keep her company. If the satins are as fab as the mattes, then sh*t, girl. My wallet’s in trouble.
- Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream ($39) — Please don’t tell Caroline Hirons that I’m stalking her. I totally am! Anyway, she did a post on BB creams a while back and recommended this one. I haven’t tried it yet, but I really want to now because I’ve been all about that BB cream life.
- Gola Rainbow Stripe Sneakers ($68) — OK, I know I’m probably going to get these white tennies dirty in the first five minutes of wearing them, but the rainbows. THE RAINBOWS! I’ve never heard of this British brand, but apparently they’ve been around since 1905, so, technically, the Downton Abbey ladies could’ve worn them (yes, I know that probably didn’t happen because FICTION). I’m so curious! They sure look comfy…
- Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow ($25) — Cream shadows! New ones! I don’t think they had these out when I went to Sephora a couple weeks ago. Must check next time, because, hi! — they aren’t all shimmery. There’s a handful of mattes and satins (and some shimmers, too, of course), which means that the browns and taupes will have to enter my life sometime very soon.
- Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense ($100) — I wore the original Light Blue on my wedding day, so I’m sentimental about this scent. I wonder how different this version is and if they boosted any particular notes.
- Kate Spade Frames (Price TBD) — I’ve been putting off buying new glasses for…I don’t know, a ridiculous amount of time. I’m talking YEARS. I tried on some Kate Spade sunnies at Nordstrom Rack the other day, and I liked how they fit my face, so I’m thinking that the eyeglass frames might be a good fit too. I googled some pics and found this one. I think it’s the Catrina, but I’m not sure. I’m hoping to find a similar style soon (ideally at Costco, because I have a membership there, and the glasses are pretty affordable).
If you’ve tried the Smashbox BB cream, gimme the scoop. Did you like it? (I’m hoping you say yes.) Or, if you have another BB cream that you’re into, lemme know, because clearly I “need” another sheer-to-medium base in my life. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. I forgot to talk about the baby shower last weekend! My sweet friend Mary Anne (she wrote a wonderful post on the blog some years ago) is having a girl!!! They did the gender reveal at the shower.
I’ve got a mild case of baby fever at the moment… Who am I kidding? I am full-on baby crazy, and I’m counting down the seconds till I can hold that newborn!

I got kate spade sunnies a couple months ago and they’re my absolute favorite (and I bought them at nordstrom rack so they were cheap for designer).
Current lust list: a new bra, differin gel, this cotton candy perfume I got a sample of from etsy, and one of the katy kat covergirl cream shadows, the lighter one, i have the rose gold and it’s good.

I use the Effaclar Duo + Tinted as BB cream, which I like a lot, but they only offer light and medium as far as I know. Light is great for me if I am tanned, but because the coverage is sheer to medium (still looking very natural though) it can be an issue.
Oh, and Caroline Hirons is great to watch. Her vlogs are hilarious.

Oh yes, you should buy a few Color Paints! I love them!

I am totally obsessed with D&G Light Blue but haven’t tried the intense so I will give that a look next time I’m shopping as I didn’t even know about it. Thanks for the heads up! Also that eyeshadow palette is stunning xx

Hey you! I’d recommend the Inika BB cream. Shades are a bit difficult to choose, but the formula is (organic and) seriously full of good stuff, and sometimes even calms down my skin if it was looking a bit irritated. If I find myself wanting to use liquid makeup, that’s the thing I reach for. Otherwise I usually go for some sort of mineral powder on top of a hydrating cream base. 🙂

I’ve tried the Smashbox BB cream but it I don’t remember it being anything special. I’m loving IT Cosmetics CC cream though! It has decent coverage and I think it actually helps my skin (a great skin breather on easy days or weekends). I also prefer the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint over the Smashbox BB cream because it has a better shade range for my hard to match skin. Both the IT Cosmetics and NARS hold up better on my oily skin.

Those rainbow sneaks are the cutest! They remind me of my fave long sleeved T back in grade school. 🙂 I’m a Tarte girl on the BB but also think that Laura Mercier and NARS are too “dry” (not enough of that silicone slip I like when applying). So, you have to keep that in mind.
Awww on the baby fever (and congrats to your friend!). Sadly, I’m the opposite. It’s been so long that I almost feel like I don’t know what I’m doing with babies/toddlers anymore. Way out of practice!

I picked up some of the MUFE cream shadows and one of the colors DEFEATED my oily eyelids… can’t wait to try the others! I picked up that blue, the black, a sparkly beige and a matte darker beige.

Those Kate Spade frames are really cute! You might want to check out Warby Parker for similar frames. The Upton is very similar in color and shape, but with a slighter cat eye than the Kate Spade frame. They have physical stores in Berkeley and San Francisco, or you can have them send you several frames to try on at home. I’ve ordered glasses online and it’s been much easier than I thought and they worked out well for me. Here’s a link to the Upton frame:

I’m with you on the stripes issue. The spacing on this one is great. I’d get it too since it wouldn’t emphasize my curvy parts. My previous pair of glasses was from Kate Spade. Loved them so much I even purchased a pair of sunglasses later on.

I really want some pieces from Monica Vinader jewelry, the quatrefoil pattern blue dress from Kate Spade, and the Blog pump from Stuart Weitzman.

I like those glasses. I ordered some new specs from Warby Parker and I loooovvee them. They are inexpensive and they will send you 5 diferent frames to try on for free and free returns so you can check them out on your face before you buy. I remember they had several frames similar to the one you want. Worth a quick look.

Shall we form Caroline Hirons Addicts Anonymous? 😉 I don’t buy anything now without consulting her. Also managed to get my hands on her Cult Beauty Box. Pure gold!

I like the BB cream! It’s great for sweaty shiny skin in summer, IMO. I’m super curious about the new MUFE cream shadows!
I need a new purse. Looking for something crossbody and just a little different, IE not boring. I like patterns, colors, interesting shapes.

I haven’t tried Smashbox BB cream. I just got the tiniest Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Cream with color corrector in it so that’s the closest I’ve been to a BB. Wait, I just bought the NARS X CG tint, hopefully that will work for me.

I have the Viseart palette in Sultry Muse, and I’m kinda meh on it. Now, it may make a diff that you have the matte palette. For me I think the colors are just “ok” and I’m not sure the formula is any better than some of my other shadows. I may break down and buy the matte palette and see if that helps light my fire to use it more often. If not I have friends I can pass them on to.

One of the MUFE cream shadows is a 100 point perk at Sephora! I’m not exactly sure which color it is but when you click on “view full size” it shows I-50 – Iridescent Warm Beige. I had my eye on that one, so I hope it’s right!
I have Kate Spade glasses and I love them! I think the style I have is called Ragan. They were the first frames I tried on at my last visit to the eye doctor and they ended up being my favorites.

I was wondering about the new Light Blue too! Have you looked at Warby Parker for frames? They’re typically $100 with the lenses, and the home try-on makes it super easy. I’ve gotten my last 3 pairs from them, plus a pair of prescription sunglasses (best invention ever) and they have all held up so well.
