One, two, three — cheese!
Um…no, not gouda, although I am a big fan of stinky cheeses (especially the blue veiny ones, yum!). I’m referring to the new Smashbox Be Discovered collection, available now at Sephora stores and sephora.com.
Since I’m a shutterbug, I love Camera themes, so I was pretty eager to point my lens at this new eight-piece collection for eyes, lips and cheeks.
Today I talked four of the pieces into sitting still long enough for me to capture them on film. Have a quick look, and let me know what you think (reviews coming soon).

Today’s my mum’s birthday, and I still haven’t found her a present (!).
Oh, boy. I don’t even have enough time to panic! Gotta run to the mall…
I’m open to any gift ideas (many thanks in advance).

My moms been asking for a good seasonal wallet. Maybe yours would appreciate a great accessory.
I love the eyeshadows! Lilac will look lovely on my fair complexion.

I love my Smashbox palette, Softbox, and these colors look PERFECT for springtime but pigmentation looks iffy. I look forward to your review because this is on my short list!
Em says
The eyeshadow palette seems worth it to me, because the colors are mostly neutral, and when I do stray from neutral I use lilac or gray, so it’s PERFECT! 🙂

Very pretty palette! love the colors.

I like that this is a nice, light, neutral palette for those of us who are shy of bold color.
A quick birthday gift recommendation: Origins makes those great herbal body wraps that you can heat up in the microwave to ease sore muscles, I think those make great gifts for most everyone.

I get my mom makeup she would not otherwise buy for herself because of the price. She likes the Nars and the Tarte collections so far. I don’t know your mom, but I bet she would like to be treated to a nice blush, or mascara she wouldn’t ordinarily buy for herself. Or a nice bag from Nine West or Guess that holds up for a long time.

the cream trios are nice …. i find the e/s palette to be a bit too pastelly for my tastes!

So poor color pay off of the eyeshadows! 🙁
The cream cheek trios look very pretty though.
Carolyn says
I really wish Smashbox would ramp up the pigmentation of their eyeshadows. The cheek trios look nice, though! Looking forward to your review!

The palette looks pretty interesting. No overwhelming on the pigment, but that is not always a bad thing when it comes to a natural look. Congratulations on your mom’s Bday!
Chelsie says
So pretty for the spring! I’m glad the blushes are powders instead of those nasty cream ones several companies put out last year with their Spring collection.

Love the look of the Show Biz trio! But (as usual), I’m wishing the palette had a bit more pigment. I’ll wait for your verdict on ’em, though – photos are always helpful (like, really helpful), but I feel like it’s hard to get an accurate representation without words, y’know? 🙂

My favorite beauty revelation of 2011 is the restorative effects of Argan oil. I look forward to incorporating it into all of my beauty endeavors in 2012. And, I’m now am official devotee of Josie Moran’s Argan oil line of products!
