P.S. Got any quick cures for writer’s block? Inquiring (and very appreciative) minds want to know.

I think we’re twins. The words just aren’t flowing well for me today, either. What do I do when this happens? I usually take a break. Maybe go for a walk. That usually works.

This looks like a really nice set. As much as you write, its no surprise that you get stuck sometimes, I don’t know what could help though.

“The hand follows the heart”. So if the heart is somewhere else, we should go with it. It is good to take a break from blogging when you just don’t feel like it. Just have to make sure it is not laziness. 😉
Karen, what do you think? Whenever i force myself to write, i end up writing low quality stuff.
I liked the blush shade from the set 🙂 Its a nice pinky rose.
Danielle says
Wow this is a nice set. And the fact that it comes in that makeup bag is a great touch.

Yeesh, well done Tarte! Not much has caught my eye from holiday releases but the shades in this collection are my style. I don’t have a cure for writer’s block 🙁 I tend to quit trying for a little while and read other people’s work. Sometimes picking up on the nuances of another person’s style helps me find my own voice again. And sometimes I just rearrange my schedule for the following day and pick a new time to write. I banged out two posts in under an hour yesterday morning despite typically doing my “best” work in the evenings.

I was hoping they would have some matte shadows. I love the complete set otherwise. I need to figure out what I want for Christmas.

OMG the lip glosses! WANT!

This is I believe the first kit to really grab my attention! Love the purple makeup bag!
Writer’s block happens to everyone and I think when this happens, keeping simple like you just did here, works perfectly. I realised recently that life was getting in the way and that I couldn’t be inspired by every single product so, simple is good! Now go cuddle your fur baby for a bit I’m sure it’ll come back in no time! 🙂

I likey like this one not only for the colours but the bag looks fabulous!!

For writer’s block, I’ve heard walking backwards can stimulate your brain and make it switch gears. Haven’t tried it yet, myself, but John Test can’t be wrong.

First this collection is a business travelers DREAM! Second, if you have writers block . . . STEP AWAY from technology. Yep, say see you later to your phone, I pad, computer and whatever else you have. I like to do something opposite of what you are doing such as going to the gym, run errands, play with my animals or even cooking.
Kiss & Make-up says
Awww, it’s okay Karen, we are all faced with writer’s block once in a while! You’re giving us an (unnecessary) killer apology and some really awesome pics and swatches though 🙂

That. Is soooo gorgeous. I put myself on a Tarte restriction after one of the Sephora sales this year and got a ton of their stuff marked down, but I love how this kit comes with lip glosses and that cute travel bag! I don’t even think I have any of those colors, and their blushes are so fabulous… sigh. Stupid holidays, full of temptations!
Denise S. says
Love that Tarte included just about everything you need in this set. The lip glosses and blush are what I like best.
Shikha says
That is such a gorgeous set. Loving the purple quilted bag. Writer’s block sucks completely…best is to disconnect from it…do something else…dance, listen to music and then do something that actually made you fall in love with makeup/blogging in the 1st place. This rat race that it has turned to drains the joy out of it.
Ruchita says
This bag is so pretty and purple is one of my favorite colors!
Unfortunately I don’t have much advice on the writer’s block. My writing mainly involves technical aspects for my job, so not much room for creativity there. Good luck!

Oooo I bought this set at Sephora this past weekend. Im wearing the shadows from the top right of the palette today. I’m also wearing one of the lip glosses in “John”. It’s a lovely red with no sparkle. The gloss has a nice amount of pigment, but still has certain translucency that makes it easy to wear for red-phobes. The shadows are nicely pigmented and are buttery soft and easy to blend. The colors are rich but muted. I think the Muse (Musings of a Muse) said these would be good for those of us that are, Ahem, a certain age. And I think she’s right. The shimmer just pumps up the rich softness of these shadows. Overall I’m thrilled with this palette! The other stuff included is as qood quality as always with Tarte(especially the blushes) and the travel bag is plush and wonderful!

Happens to the best of us! I’m always a little stumped when k first start a post lol. I’m hoping it gets better as I keep at it. It seems so effortless for you! This set looks incredible though. It literally has like everything! I’ve heard mixed reviews about Tarte’s shadows though so I’m probably going to have to check this out in stores!

I’m an editor and this still happens to me– quite frequently. What’s helped me though (in no particular order): coffee, taking a guilt-free break, writing that you hate writing (or whatever has you stuck), and reminding yourself that the world will not end if you are not 100% on top of your game today. The delete button remains my favorite button. It’s all about self-forgiveness and you go along.
Natalie says
I love the Yoda chat (awesome it is). This kit looks pretty sweet, I just hope the products are good quality. I like to read when I have writers block, or watch a really great movie. Basically get lost in a great story so you forget you have writers block and enjoy a good story.

Tarte is KILLING me with all of the holiday sets! I want them all!! <3
Poo@beautyandmakeupmatters says
Tarte Holiday sets are just so drool worthy, the set is great to travel with all the essentials.. 🙂 🙂
Sylvia says
Writer’s block and you still do such a great job, thank you!
Anyways my tips for getting over writer’s block is to take a shower. No joke, my best thoughts for writing papers and blog posts come to me when I shower. Also, I find that just doing anything but trying to write helps to kind of let the mind take a break and find inspiration on its own. I like to watch tv, organize my desk or go on YouTube!

You need acupuncture. Get that qi flowin again. Seriously, you will love it 🙂
