Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow: Are You Ready for These Swatches?

August 25th, 2011 by Karen 63 Comments

bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadows

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals has something BIG lined up for fall, and the question is, are you ready?

The line is leaping into the thrilling world (it is to me) of pressed eyeshadow duos and quads with a brand new line of permanent collection products called Ready. The 19 pieces in the Ready Eyeshadow Collection, which arrives on counters this October (ready or not), consist of four quads ($30 each) and 15 duos ($20 each), and for a brand best known for their loose mineral eyeshadows, it signifies a brave shift in a bold new direction.

But what about the minerals…?

Don’t worry. They’re still here — in the form of something called “solid mineral technology.” bareMinerals went mining in the sea and put the stuff they found into pressed powder form. The shadows, according to the company, promise to deliver vivid pigments, as well as softer, smoother skin.

These just emerged from the surf this afternoon, so I haven’t had a chance to really dig into ’em yet, but I had to share pictures. From what I can tell so far, the vibrant powders feel soft and surprisingly smooth (and aren’t the product names GREAT!?). 🙂

Well, what do ya think? I’m intrigued by the metallics — actually, by more than that. I see a lot of fun colors here (LOVE The Vision and Showstopper duos).

Happy 1,123rd birthday, Vampire Eric!

Vampire Eric, known by his family and friends as Alexander Skarsgård, turns 35 today.

Happy birthday, Vampire SkarsgÃ¥rd! You look great for your age. 🙂

My buddy Marisol was kind enough to alert me to this article featuring animated A. Skarsgård .gifs.

Thanks, Marisol. And THANK YE GODS for the fine specimen that is Mr. Skarsgård.

Enjoy! 😉

October is going to kill my wallet. My favorite duos are the same as yours–esp. Vision and Flashback as well. There are several great looking quad too and the prices are awesome! Can’t wait!

      Hi Alyse,

These seem to lay down darker color. Also, Prelude swatched much more cool on my skin in comparison to Enlightenment and Epiphany. Here’s a link to the post with swatches in case you’re interested:

    Your swatches look awesome!

BareMinerals is not a brand that I usually buy, but those eyeshadows look pigmented and beautiful! Most look totally wearable and easy to pair with other colors.

These look amazing! As someone who has tried and tried, but eventually had to accept the fact that I’m too uncoordinated and klutzy to deal with loose shadows, I’m thrilled to see the company going in this direction. The pigmentation and color combos are impressive.

Yay, pressed shadows! I’ve always liked BE’s colors, but the messy loose powders turned me off – especially dealing with darker colors that get all over my hands as soon as I unscrew the lid. This new line will bring me back. I’ve got my eyes on The Inspiration.

I hope these will come to the UK soon. Would like to try Bare Escentuals, but didn’t like their loose eyeshadows (not the colours, but don’t like the idea of loose pigments). That said, I like MAC pigments though. 😉 I am just fickle……

I’m a little bit disappointed. These look kind of chalky to me. And I was really hoping the colors would have the same names as the loose versions. I am desparate for a solid/pressed version of Bare Skin and Celestine, my two absolute favorite BE shadows. Thanks for the swatches and info, Karen! Have a lovely weekend. 🙂
