It’s that time of year again! — that time when you go into Trader Joe’s intending to only get a loaf of gluten-free sliced bread (El Hub highly recommends the one in the green bag. He says the one in the pink bag tastes like sawdust.) and leave with a cart filled with snacks and holiday gifts “allegedly” for other people, but really they’re just for you.
1. Ginger Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream ($4.99)
This is SO GOOD. I bought three tubes because #hoarders, and I’m going back for more. It smells exactly like Origins Ginger Souffle Lotion. If you’re unsure about ginger scents, ask someone who works at TJ’s if they can open a tube so you can test it out first! That’s what I did, and the sales clerk mentioned that he ended up getting one for himself, each of his aunties, his sisters and his mom.
Good man!
2. Lip Treatment Duo ($3.99)
A lady I was chatting up in the beauty section said that she bought this duo last year, and she 100% recommended it if you have dry lips.
3. Gingerbread Scented Candle ($3.99)
Another recommendation from my homegirl in the beauty section. It smells just like a gingersnap!
4. Macaron Soap ($4.99)
How cute are these little soaps? You might have to tell anyone who uses your bathroom not to eat them though!
5. Face Mask Trio ($6.99)
I’m so intrigued by the Rose Gel Mask! Pro tip/hack: If you see something in a gift set that you wanna keep for yourself, just break up the set and give away the things you don’t want as stocking-stuffers. 😉
6. Exfoliating Body Scrub Trio ($7.99)
I have a full-sized exfoliating body scrub from TJ’s that I love, and I bet these minis in different scents are just as great.
7. Handwoven Recycled Newspaper Baskets ($5.99)
Each basket looks different, and they feel sturdy, too.
8. Olive Wood Serving and Cutting Board ($11.99)
These disappeared quicker than a skittish street cat at TJ’s last year.
9. Olive Wood Bowl ($5.99)
Yet another highly sought-after gift that was gone with the wind in a heartbeat last year. I’m going back on Friday to grab a few of the oblong bowls. I love how they all look so different.
Happy holiday shopping!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty and Trader Joe’s addict,
Karen

I’m down with all these recommendations! Especially the olive wood boards and bowls. And that lip kit is calling my name!

I would like one of each for myself, please! And what is it about these olive boards and bowls? I already have a few, but keep coming back for more.

Be careful with the wood bowls – only use them for fruit displays or sth like that. We had a local ribhouse that used wooden plates and people got sick, because the plates couldn’t be washed properly.

I wish we had Trader Joes in Australia! These gifts look great.

Have you heard about the Trader Joe’s podcast? I heard it mentioned on NPR yesterday and thought of you, it’s called Inside Trader Joe’s, I think.

Oooohhh! The olive wood bowls are calling out to me. Too bad I rarely step inside TJ’s. Curious about those newspaper baskets, too. Are they coated with something to keep the ink from rubbing off onto whatever you put inside?
For the most part I plan to stay far away from shopping and stores on Friday.
Rachel says
I want all of these! I’m glad to have you as a friend as well, Happy Thanksgiving!

I hate it when you do TJ’s posts (not really), because I immediately have to go to TJ’s to get all the things.
I’m in line waiting for Kohl’s to open right now. The official Black Friday makeup look is basic brown eye with UD 24/7 in Rockstar and I’m trying out the Nars liquid blush in Dolce Vita that you posted about not long ago.
Hope your dinner was amazing!

I totally want the ginger lotion. In my local TJs the other day, the thrifty side of me said to wait, but now I really want to try it!!!
Dominique says
I will take one of each please!!! Good picks

Those baskets are so cool, and the wood bowls and cutting boards!
