The Rouge Bunny Rouge “Loess” Eye Shadow Palette Channels Chanel

July 5th, 2017 by Karen 12 Comments

The delicate and dainty Rouge Bunny Rouge EYe Shadow Palette in Loess ($59)

There’s a morsel of that marvelously mysterious Chanel wow factor fluttering about the cool-toned Rouge Bunny Rouge Loess Eye Shadow Palette, and oh! — I’d also like to say that if you have warm-toned skin like I do, I’m 100% convinced that warm-toned wonder women can also wear cooler tones like these.

Now back to what I was saying about that Chanel wow factor…

RBR had fun with the finishes in this pigmented palette in a way that reminds me of Coco. There are four powder shadows — a rose, a beige, a purplish taupe and a gray — with finishes that combine the best of the satin and matte worlds. They blend with the ease of a satin but look a little like mattes on the lids. You can see see that a glint is there at first glance, but when you pause to look more closely, where did it go!? it disappears…

Don’t you just love subtle touches in makeup like that?

About these colors, I’m always surprised by the potency of Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow and how I can get away with using so little. Even with colors like these, which I wouldn’t assume would look very punchy on my skin, I don’t have to use as much as I expected to.

The first time I used this palette, I piled it on, but I’ve come to realize that I didn’t have to. Here I’m wearing two layers of the purple taupe on my lids (and I’m also wearing the gray as a liner), and I probably could’ve gotten away with one.

Loess is available now, and I’m pretty sure it’s limited edition, so don’t delay, if you’re interested! If you are, RBR is offering a 20% discount for MBB readers using code RBR-MAKEUPANDBEAUTYBLOG20.

That discount applies to all purchases on the U.S. Rouge Bunny Rouge website, BTW, and lasts through the end of August.

You know me… I love a good sale. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

It looks nice on you, but cool toned neutrals and I have never been friends. 🙁

I dont think Rouge Bunny Rouge is available where I live, I am partial to a little taupe on my eyes.

Hi Karen! I love RBR and you had introduced me to the brand first.
Thanks for the code! It is not working though and sending an invalid code message.

Thank you Karen! I have the liquid bronzer and I love it! I am stocking up on the black eye pencil; I find it equivalent to Chanel’s Noir Intense. I am curious about the highlighter liquid and heard great things but cannot justify a purchase since I have several liquid highlighters.

One of the brands that I’d like to come to the UK. I’d love to try their diaphanous powder. This palette is pretty, I’d totally wear shades like these

Reminds me a little bit of Chanel’s Prelude Quad (an oldie but good one). The colors in this are beautiful, so I think I’ll pick it up!

Very nice finish! That’s awesome that you have your very own RBR discount code, too. 🙂

I can’t say that I am familiar with this brand. The palette looks really nice, but for a few dollars more, I would stick with Chanel. I am thinking about getting a new eyeshadow quad since I finished the one I purchased awhile back. I may try the Tisse Rivoli if it still exists. right now, I am loving this cream shadow in Undertone.

    Be well!

Oh, I love me some RBR. I wish it was easier to get a hold of and had wider distribution.

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
