With the Bobbi Brown Dual Ended Eye Liners, Eyes Have Options, One Neutral and One Fun

November 16th, 2011 by Karen 16 Comments

QUESTION: When are two widgets better than one?

ANSWER: Always, when you’re a gal who likes options, and the widgets are the liners at both ends of each new limited edition Bobbi Brown Dual Ended Eye Liner.

I’m one of those gals. I keep multiple pairs of shoes in the back seat of my car for emergencies — emergencies like when I change my mind about my footwear on the way to wherever I’m going — and I’m the same way with makeup, because you never know when the need to wear gold eyeliner will strike!

“With Bobbi’s Dual Ended Eye Liner, one side brightens, while the other side defines for long-wearing that doesn’t fade. A unique combination of soft waxes and oils, plus a high concentration of pigments, provides silky-smooth application and dense, even color.”

— bobbibrowncosmetics.com

This season, thanks to these three new $24 pencil duos, which are available now on Bobbi Brown counters and also online, I’ll be all set. Available in three combinations — Chocolate & Bronze, Jet & Chrome and Caviar & Gold — one side has a neutral shade to help you play it safe at the office, and the other side has a shimmery shade for parties after work…

…or for running away from zombies!

Because you never know, right?

Yep, I’m hooked on The Walking Dead

The two duos I’ve been wearing this week, Jet & Chrome and Chocolate & Bronze, feel like butter and look like ink. They’re super smooth and pigmented, gliding on like Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, while depositing pigments so intense that they remind me of Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Eyes Liners.

Chocolate & Bronze on the left, Jet & Chrome on the right

When I use these, I always have to remind myself to pay attention. If I’m going to smudge or manipulate them before they set, I only have about three minutes to do it in, because once they’ve dried, they won’t budge from my lash and/or water lines all day long.

If you like the look of thick, dramatic lines and don’t mind softer edges than the crisp kind you’d get with a liquid liner, keep these in mind.

Big ups to Bobbi for squeezing in so much intense pigment and giving these such a great wear time, but ladies with sensitive eyes might want to stick to wearing these along their lash line, as I’ve noticed that my eyes tend to tear up when I have them on my water line.

PRICE: $24 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Bobbi Brown counters and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+

Cat lady says what?

What? I’ve watched this video about 20 times in a row! — yes, partly because one of the stars looks like someone I know. 🙂 And partly because it’s just so darn cute.

Hope you had a lovely Wednesday, friend. Upward and onward…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

::giggle:: at the video. The cat that looks like Tabs is totally watching the other cat like “yeah you do that buddy” giving him a straight side eye -__- tooooo CUTE! Okay back to your post – those colors look lovely and since I’m a bronzey kind of girl I’m gonna have to try Jet & Chrome to be different cuz I have a million neutral colors & I like the look of that silver. 🙂

OKAY. Let’s talk about “The Walking Dead” for a moment here. How CRAZY was that last episode? I swear, I about had a heart attack when Daryl was attacked by those zombies. And the barn?? Whaddaheck? That’s just a disaster waiting to happen! What are your favorite characters this season? I am loving Daryl, and I can’t believe Carol has managed to be so sweet and kind during this entire situation.

I’m getting to be so obsessed with this show, I’m having dreams about it. Yeah, they’re terrifying (and a little awesome).

I feel like you’re my tv watching partner in crime. First True Blood, now Walking Dead. I’m loving this season. Spoiler alert: I’m so waiting for Rick to find out about the pregnancy, because we who the father really is!

Loving that silver liner btw. I think Milani liquif-eye liner in silver could be a dupe. 🙂

I’m commenting purely on the fact that of the snippet of Walking Dead in your post. Can you guess i’m obsessed with that show? As a mother of 3 boys, that show fills up my ‘me-time’ and it’s so worth it. 🙂

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
