Three Full-Size Lip Products for $32 Makes the Make Up For Ever Tease Me Lip Trios a Tempting Tease

Every time I see this guy’s face on the two Make Up For Ever Tease Me lip trios I want to tell him to FREAKING RELAX, MAN. Why you so stressed out?? Aren’t you, like, a billionaire playboy or something?

Or maybe that’s Bruce Wayne… OK, whatever.

This series though. Who knew it was so controversial? And here I was thinking it was just a frothy, pulpy schmexy-time romance novel.

However you feel about it, I bet there’s one thing we can all agree on: the makeup inspired by the movie is kind of rocking.

Like MUFE’s two new lip trios, one based on nudes and one built around berries. Each one comes with a lip liner, a waterproof liquid lipstick and a lip gloss, all of them full-size.

Maybe Mr. Grey likes to wear lipstick sometimes, and he’s stressed out about his lip situation. “Which lipstick should I wear, and how will I know what lip liner and gloss to wear with it!?”

No worries, Mr. Grey. Make Up For Ever has made it easy for ya. For each of the two trios, they picked a matching lip liner, liquid lipstick and gloss, freeing you up to make the tough decisions, like how many cats is too many cats? Do I appear intense enough in this photo? What should our safety word be? Is my hair too flat? And how’s the lighting in my secret back room?

The Innocent Nude Lip Trio is my favorite of the two because of its flexibility, which is to say that while I don’t intend to wear the trio with thigh-high leather boots and a naughty outfit, I suppose I could. The shades are neutral enough to work with a variety of looks and outfits. It comes with a nude beige lip liner, a soft rosy pink liquid lipstick and a sparkling beige gloss (thankfully, the glitter isn’t gritty).

I do also like the Passionate Berry Lip Trio, but with my lips being so dry and flaky right now, I’m a little reluctant to embrace the darker colors. The deep berry plum lip liner, raspberry liquid lipstick and sparkling deep fuchsia gloss are very wearable, though, and right in the middle of the road in terms of color temperature.

The Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencils
Soft and smooth, these apply without any tugging, and they’re extremely long-wearing (easily lasting through meals) and waterproof (I have to use an oil-based remover).

The Aqua Rouge Waterproof Liquid Lip Colors
These have a non-sticky liquid lipstick on one end, which smells strongly of white flowers (although it fades in a minute or two), and an unscented clear top coat on the other. You’re supposed to apply the liquid lipstick first, let it dry (which only takes a minute), and then finish with the clear top coat.

Good thing the sets also come with a lip liner, because if you accidentally apply the Liquid Lip Colors outside of your natural lip line, mistakes are hard to correct.

Like the lip liner, the Lip Colors are extremely long-wearing, easily lasting through two meals and snacks, so we’re talking at least six or seven hours.

But they are somewhat drying and almost impossibly hard to remove (these definitely need an oil-based remover)

The Lab Shine Diamond Collection Glosses
So lovely! These medium-weight, moderately pigmented moisturizing glosses are packed with glitter, and yet don’t feel gritty at all.

My favorite thing about both of these lip trios is that you don’t have to be a gazillionaire to bring one home. Since you get three full-size products, they’re a great deal at $32.

PRICE: $32 each

      Hi Agata,

We’re going into SF tomorrow for dinner and the symphony. It’s been sunny here so it should be nice!

      Do you have any plans?

Only $32 for the whole set?! Now that’s a steal! I have the Aqua Rouge Waterproof Liquid Lip Color and I feel the same; it’s a bit drying and slightly uncomfortable worn by itself but the gloss on the other end makes it much more comfortable to wear! Have you seen the movie, Karen? TGIF! 🙂

      Hi Jaa,

I haven’t. I think eventually I’ll get roped into watching it for a girls’ date or something. Do you have plans to watch it?

That’s a huge value for MUFE, which I rank as one of the highest quality cosmetic lines in existence.

Give Tabs a smooch for me. Tell him I’m still waiting for a slice of cat loaf…

I love both of the sets but my lips get so dry with liquid lipsticks. I totally know what you mean about wearing the bright color ones. I read 2 of the 3 books and I’m not sure I want to see the movie. Mr. Grey is totally not what I pictured so I feel like the movie might ruin it for me. I think some things are just better in your imagination.

      Hi Tulipthecat,

I hear ya! When I wear liquid lipstick I always have to do lots of balm before and after.

You might like the glosses, though! They’re pretty hydrating.

What are you up to this weekend?

I’ve been putting a lot of balm and exfoliating the night before but it still looks bad late in the day. I’m thinking of getting that estee lauder primer you just reviewed this weekend and you were definitely right about the liquid liner! Oh and I have to buy cat treats before I get home. Tulip ate them all. She only really likes the frisky’s cheese flavored one.

I was just about to ask you about the liner! Which one did you get?

Give Tulip a hug for me when you see her. I love that she LOVES cheese like I do! 😀

Thank you for making my day just a bit brighter. ANd, if you don’t hear back from me – I’M HAVING A GREAT TIME! lmao

“Waterproof liquid lipstick.” Who knew! Love both sets. I’m kinda impressed with the wear time of these but they might not play well with my naturally dry lips. I have to give my prissy lips extra care & attention during the colder months. 🙂

Hey, it’s only makeup. And forget about Him — the makeup & hair on Her are worth copying!

And I love the look (makeup & hair) of Deneuve in Belle de Jour but, um, I can do without her inner makeup!

Happy Friday to a gal who works too hard to be able to keep track of everything!

Hmmm… about Belle de Jour. I did buy the YSL Belle de Jour Moiré Amethyst Light liquid eye liner this morning.

And late this afternoon I bought the YSL Belle de Jour “Desire de Jour” spring couture palette.

Zut alors! We might have a pattern here, but only if I buy the Blush Volupte. But Passionnee looks too warm for my skin.

I just got the “Tease Me” set today and it was $45 CAD. Yeowch – thank god I got it as a Valentine’s Day present. I went to the makeover event at Sephora and am afraid I might have been rather… over the top with the model they hired to play Him. Oh, well – he asked me to stop by to visit tomorrow, so it can’t have been all bad…
