These Jordana Easyshine Glossy Lip Colors Look Like They Should Cost More Than $2

Like the Two-Buck Chuck of the hybrid gloss/lipstick world, these $1.99 Jordana Easyshine Glossy Lip Colors could be giving department store brands conniptions.

Remember the highfalutin $34 Dolce & Gabbana hybrids we looked at earlier this fall? Like those pricier pretties, these bargain basement beauties feel soft, slick and super moisturizing on my lips, and while slightly less pigmented than their more expensive counterparts, their shiny sheer-to-medium coverage should still turn heads (especially when spotters hear about their fantabulous price).

A gal could get all 12 available shades — Sugar Plum, Berry Colada, Grape-Tini, Raspberry, Cotton Candy, Pink Lemonade, Watermelon Juice, Sweet Strawberry, Mango Delight, Fresh Melon, Brown Sugar and Sugar Cookie — and leave the store having spent just about $24.

Sweet!

Just like these flavors and scents. Each one tastes and smells like its name suggests (another nice touch). The flavors and fragrances seem a little strong to me at first, but thankfully they fade within a few minutes.

The packaging, while cute, makes me want to yell, “yargh!” It’s all kinds of annoying. The tubes don’t screw all the way down, so almost every time I replace the cap, I inadvertently take a chunk out of the bullet.

But those woes aside, I think these are a fab little drugstore find. Hydrating, with a respectable two-hour wear time (longer for the darker shades) and a considerable amount of pigment for the price? Love. love

PRICE: $1.99 each

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. How was the rest of your afternoon? At least we got Monday out of the way. Right now I’m making Trader Joe’s chicken chow mein for din-din and looking forward to starting my new book, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (I finished All These Things I’ve Done last night).

Wait — isn’t Terra Nova on tonight?

Sugarplum looks perfect for fall! I love these cheap-y but good-y products. I know I’d be tempted to get the whole line just because it’s so affordable. Love Raspberry on you! 🙂

      Hi Carmela,

I put Sugarplum on just for fun after dinner and you’re right — it’s a great fall shade. 🙂

What are your favorite cheapie drugstore makeup faves?

Ooh, these look awesome! Im totally loving sugar plum, berry collada, watermelon, and maybe raspberry! What drugstore have you seen this brand in, I’ve never heard of it!

But, darn it all, my pms cravings are in full swing, and since I saw “sugar cookie” that’s alllll I can think about. Yumm. Might need a midnight snack run!

      Hi Adrienne,

Just popped by Walgreens today and saw the entire line there! 🙂

You know what I’m craving? Warm chocolate chip cookies.

I love these!! Sweet Strawberry is my fail-proof everyday lip, and I love Sugar Plum when I want more drama. Though I definitely agree, the packaging is terrible!

      Hi Amy,

I know right? How hard would it have been to make the lipsticks screw all the way down? Le sigh. These are still great though…

Oooh, I love me a bargain. 😉 I’ve always seen these, but didn’t expect much from them. I guess I need to stop judging based on price because look how awesome Wet n Wild turned out to be!

I watched the first episode of Terra Nova and barely made it through. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief and I though the writing was pretty terrible. I didn’t like any of the characters and thought their interactions and dynamics were off. The only one I liked was the guy who played the bad guy in Avatar, haha.

Have you been watching any other shows? I just started Pan Am and am liking it so far.

These look a lot like my Maybelline Smooth Color&Care Lip Sticks… The shade Dolly Lychee matches almost exactly with the bubblegum pink of Raspberry!! The Maybelline ones also have a scent and they give this slight minty cooling sensation… Any ideas Karen?=D

Wow, these are really nice! Gotta find some way to get some of these from far-far-away Singapore. I love gloss-lipstick hybrids and haven’t found anything great to replace my favourites (though more on the side of lipsticks) – MAC Slimshines.

I bought Watermelon Juice last week because the color popped out at me and I do love it! The only drawbacks are the packaging (I nicked the end of mine too) and the waxy smell. However the smell goes away after 5 minutes or so.

theyre pretty similar to these jordana ones, and i think im going to grab a couple of these. i like leaving lipbalms in my various bags/jacket pockets!

the texture is a bit uhmmm …. “wet” i guess is the word id use. it must be a preference thing. i like my lip products a bit flatter/drier.

they are good lipbalms – the pigmentation is great and applies well. 🙂

Sugar Plum looks great and I think it’s great that the scents match the products (even if they are a little strong). 🙂 Still haven’t seen Terra Nova, but I did make a point of watching Castle last night. I thought Grimm and Once Upon A Time looked like they might be interesting. Have you seen the spots for those yet? I don’t watch a lot of network TV so I’m probably behind! 🙂

    Hey Karen,
Those look so sweet! I was tempted to buy the CoveeGirl version away out here in Canada, but for around $10, I wasn’t willing to risk it (although the lipstains- LOVE! The one I have tastes like raspberries and perfectly complements me). I’m so excited that your starting the Miss Peregrine book, as I have bought it and would like to know how it is (no spoilers!). Like me, could you nit resist the cool photography and refreshing feel to it? Thank god Teen fiction hasn’t gone to the wolves and vampires.

These just look so much more accessible to me than the D&G lippies because I’m not having an inner struggle about whether to use it more frequently or less frequently because of the price–you remember, the old “am I using it too much to get my money’s worth or should I make it last longer because it costs more” question. I’ve decided I am considerably less high-maintenance than that, and to me, these look perfect!

These look like they have pretty good color payoff that price – I might have to take a little trip to Walgreens this week….

Also, may I commend you on your taste – YA fiction is the best! I steal all my younger siblings books, and get aggressive when tweens try and check out new things from the teen section at my library. I get first dibs on everything, thank you very much.
