There’s a Snow Fairy Sparkling in This Shower Gel, and My, It’s Lush!

November 1st, 2011 by Karen 39 Comments

Lush Snow Fairy

Yes, add me to the legion of ladies obsessed with Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel, babe. I brought it into the shower with me after my run this morning and could not stop sniffing my mane!

Officially, Lush refers to the scent of this shower gel, which doubles as both a body wash and a shampoo, as sweet vanilla, but it reminds me of a cool cross between Mr. Bubble bubble bath and bananas.

Weird, but it works for me.

Oh, and the fact that it’s a pretty pink with sparkles doesn’t hurt. 🙂

Like the Lush shower gels I’ve tried in the past, Snow Fairy rinses clean, washes well and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight.

Since it’s limited edition and only in town for the holidays, you might want to arrange an introduction to sniff test it sooner than later. A little pricey but oh, so fun.

PRICE: $24.95 for a 16.9-oz. bottle, $16.95 for an 8.4-oz. one and $9.95 for a 3.3-oz. bottle
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Lush stores and also online

No, it doesn’t. If you’re looking for something more blingy you might want to go the body glitter route.

I’d love LUSH more if they kept their products SLS-free! Always irritates me (literally and figuratively…)

What SLS-free body wash products are you currently using now? I’d love a rec…

Sulfates, Parabens AND Perfume? I thought LUSH was a “natural” brand. Completely turned off now, my skin is too sensitive and with all the cancer research done about these ingredients I have to say pass 🙁

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll pass it along to the Lush folks.

I totally see where you’re coming from and totally understand… But Lush actually doesn’t claim to be a “natural” brand. Their motos are “fresh” and “handmade” but that’s it. On their website they actually list the natural ingredients in each product in green, and the synthetic ingredients in black. I agree though, I wish they’d stop using SLS :[

I’ve heard so many great things about this shower gel scent. Unfortunately, Lush stores are not close so I have yet to smell it. If it smells sweet like their Rockstar soap or the Comforter bubble bar, I think I’d like it.

      Hi PinkGlitter,

It’s a little sweet, but not sugary candy sweet, if that makes any sense.

Love the scent of snow fairy (have the lip balm from last year), but how long do those sparkles stick around post-shower? Do they rinse away? I love the scent, but loathe a sparkly body! Thanks!!

I can’t comment on this year’s batch, but for the past few years the sparkles don’t sticj to the skin.

      Hey Lisa,

Nope, the sparkles don’t stick. I think they’re mostly for visual enjoyment. 🙂

I don’t know…I gave that as a gift to my youngest sister and a good friend a couple of years ago (right around when the first Twilight movie came out) and they said they sparkled like Edward! So it might stick….really stick! Of course, I think there’s a Snow Fairy lotion that matches it too….

SLS. Lush, really? Yet, they switched from processed shea butter to fair trade shea butter in my once favorite massage therapy bar a couple of years ago. Since going fair trade and unprocessed, I can NOT stand the scent for even a back rub. I really think Lush is going downhill with over-scented products.

How weird, El Hub is funny about lotion too! When I try to put it on his dry elbows, he starts talking crazy (“IT BURNS!” — even though it really doesn’t). I wouldn’t mind if he put a little on every once in a while, but not gonna lie, I’d be annoyed if he used up a bottle of my Pacifica Body Butter. 🙂

the hubs thinks its girly to put on lotion. he will let me put hand cream on his elbows and hands sometimes. sometimes being the operative word!

weirdly enough, i put on some burts bees lipbalm on him before sleeping last night and he said “what’s that, IT BURNNNSS” … LOL. husbands are weird. 😀

Pink? Sparkly? What’s not to like? 🙂 I don’t have a Lush nearby but just went past one in the mall in Scottsdale last week. Unfortch, it was one of those days where strong scents trigger an immediate headache. Maybe that was just divine intervention for my wallet’s sake. Whatever the case, I didn’t stop to browse. Maybe next time!

I know what you mean. I can take their products individually, but when it comes to the store it is sensory overload.

How was your trip? Was it for work or play?

It was good, thanks! For work, but I had a lot of time to drive around and shop… I mean, do store checks. 🙂 I had never been to Phoenix before, so it was great to explore a new city.

I know – I sometimes feel that way about the candle stores, too. Yankee Candle, etc. I love almost all the individual scents but it can be hard to walk into the store when all of them blend. Work is the same when they’re running different fragrances and bath products; it’s hard to get used to, even after all these years. 🙁

Do the sparkles leave a little shine in your hair? Cause I think that could be kinda cute, especially in my blonde hair….

I love Snow Fairy, but I cannot bring myself to drop $27 (CAD) on it! I always wait for the big boxing day sale, and then I stock up! As February approaches, the few bits that are left get even cheaper, so I’ll buy more at that time. I just ran out of all my solid soaps, and I have one Snow Fairy left. I’ll have to remember to buy a little bit more this year 😉

Last year, they only had French label Snow Fairy left, and to “apologize”, they threw in a bottle of Glogg. Hey, I don’t care about the label, I just want what’s inside!! I didn’t like Glogg, but my hubby used it all up.

I just wish they’d do free shipping promos, and F&F sales from time to time..

I actually got the Snow Fairy solid perfume as a gift a few years ago. I had been dying to try it because of all the hype surrounding Snow Fairy. But I was really disappointed because it was sickly sweet, and I’m the type of person who LOVES sweet things. Snow Fairy was synthetic-candy-smelling instead of the gourmand-sweet kind of scents I actually like.

It’s cool, though, that lots of people like this shower gel, though. Different tastes for different people. 🙂

I do think the shower gel looks really pretty in the bottle!
