The Tempting Taste of LORAC Tucked Into a Sweet Set of Six Shiny Glosses: The New $25 LORAC Sweet Temptations Lip Gloss Collection

Wearing Frosted Gumdrop from the new LORAC Sweet Temptations Lip Gloss Collection

I’ve been paying weekly visits to the milk chocolate buttercerams at See’s Candies lately, and yes, it’s only a matter of time before my transformation into Liz Lemon is complete!!

Soon, my delicious little friends will probably start wondering about the nature of our relationship…

“Where’s that hella short cat lady with the cray-cray hair who always visits on Sundays?” they might ask, if/when I miss a visit.

Heck, they might even shed a tiny, sugary tear…

And I would reply, “It’s nothing personal, guys. It’s just that my sweet tooth has become totally infatuated with the flavors and scents of the new $25 LORAC Sweet Temptations Lip Gloss Collection.”

Each of the six sheer, shiny glosses in the set are named after sweet treats, like Butterscotch and Creme Brulee, and they smell and taste like them, too.

But that’s not even the best part… LORAC actually figured out a way to make the scents and flavors good!

Each gloss is tastefully done (LOL!), and not artificially sweet.

All six glittery 0.11-ounce glosses, which are just a tad smaller than the full-size 0.19- and 0.17-ounce glosses from LORAC’s permanent line, have a short, stubby brush applicator (great for getting into the corners and cupid’s bow area of my lips), a middleweight consistency, a non-sticky texture, and they last on my dry lips from 2-3 hours, adding moderate moisture along the way.

In addition to the great flavors and scents, LORAC loaded these with antioxidant-rich botanicals like acai berry, pomegranate and grape seed, and vitamins C and E. But they kept out the parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.

Gals with very pigmented lips might not see much difference among the three lightest shades in the kit, Cotton Candy, Butter Scotch and Creme Brulee, which was the case for me. The darker colors, however — Candy Apple, Frosted Gumdrop and Sugar Plum — definitely do pack more pigment.

All told, I like this kit, and I think it’s priced right, but I wish the lighter colors had a little more variety. As it stands, though, it might be one of those sets you break up for stocking stuffers, since there does seem to be some repetition among the lighter shades.

Dining room drama, part 2,656

Okay, so I finally ordered a dining room table and the chairs last weekend in the hopes that the pieces would arrive by Thanksgiving, but alas, ’twasn’t meant to be.

One word: backordered.

Oh, well. That’s what folding chairs are for.

It’s all good, right? Family, friends and copious amounts of carbs make everything better. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    “Please welcome Liz Leeemoooooooon!”

Those swatches were surprisingly more flattering on your lips than they seemed like they’d be just looking at the tube colors! And $25?! Whatta sweet deal!

Oh, I’m sorry about the backorder. I got really excited when I saw the pic and then bummed when I read “Someday…” Totally agree that your family will be just as happy on folding chairs, though. 🙂

And, WOW on the glosses. I have more glosses than I could ever use, but this is a great deal at $25. Candy Apple and Sugar Plum are very nice. The other 4 would make great stocking stuffers, as you said!

      Hi Kim,

Yeah…I wish I hadn’t waited so long to order, but what are ya gonna do? At least this way I’ll be prepared for next Thanksgiving, ha!

Have you started your holiday shopping yet? I’ve picked up some random gifts here and there throughout the year, but I still have a long way to go. Gonna try to get it all done in the next couple of weeks, though.

I think sugarplum looks the best on you. I love it when reviews show the product on the person, it helps me learn more about the product which I like.

Your kitchen set looks fun, the bench adds a comfy-ness to the decor that seems inviting. Did they give you a shipping date?

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
