Lean in, and listen to the story of a neutral loving lady waaaay obsessed with shimmery shades of brown.
She’s called Nomadic Goddess, and she grew weary of seeing so many neon hot pinks and purples hog the stage.
One day, she decided to steal the spotlight! 🙂
Today I checked out a few of the earthy tones that make up The Body Shop’s Nomadic Goddess makeup collection for summer 2010.
Italian Baked-to-Last Bronze ($19, available in three shades)
I tried the middle shade, 03. Tiny flecks of golden shimmer in the powder diffuse the appearance of fine lines on the face. For the price, I think the powder could have been milled finer because I can see it sitting on top of my skin. But once it’s been buffed in, it bestows a subtle warm glow that makes me look like I just spent the afternoon hiking in the hills with LC and Audrina. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B
Italian Baked-to-Last Eye Color in 01 ($14, available in three shades)
The moon pattern on pans of these shimmery duos makes them a dead ringer for the MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos from last year’s Magic, Mirth and Mischief collection, but these are sheerer and exhibit more shadow fallout. On the positive side, I like how easy 01 is to blend. I’m totally sold on the shimmery copper and brown and how naturally beautiful they look on the eyes. If you’re interested, look for these shadows in stores, as they aren’t yet available through The Body Shop USA website. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B
Delipscious Sheer Lip Color in 08 Sheer Saffron ($12, available in seven shades)
This shimmery copper is part of a new collection of sheer TBS lipsticks made with vegetarian ingredients. It feels light, without any flavor or scent, and deliciously moisturizing on my lips. Oh, and like the Baked-to-Last Eye Colors, you won’t find these on The Body Shop USA website, so peep the stores if you’re game. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+

What do ya think? Are any of these piquing your interest? I was undecided at first, but now I’m beginning to come around. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Yay! It’s almost the weekend. Do you have any plans for Memorial Day?
Ooooh, new lippie shades! I haven’t bought any of the new lippies yet but I remember really liking the new formula. I would love to find the perfect bronze! I really loved their old lipstick called Bronze but that formula was so drying and gross on my lips.
You look gorgeous btw. 😀

Hey Catherine!
I hope you’re feeling better, my friend. 🙂
aww you look so pretty Karen!! theres a 30% discount in uk at the moment, so I’m definitely checking it out today!! x
Ooh, let me know if you end up getting anything good, Sureyya!
Have a great weekend. 🙂
Ughhh, I love the coral and blues that are really big for summer but they just look so god awful on me.
I look awesome in clothes those colors but on my face they just look so garish. :/
Hi Michelle,
Hmm, you could always try using very controlled pops of color… like subtle blue liner along the upper lash line, or maybe some coral nail polish?
You look awesome, girl! 😀
Im liking the bronzer — surprise, surprise!
Thanks, Nina! 🙂
I want – nay, I *need* – mad eye lining skills to be able to duplicate this cateye on me.
Yeah, that cat eye is killer. You could probably use scotch tape to get the lines nice and crisp.
I am loving the bronzer on you! It glows 🙂
Thanks, Martha!
Hope you’re having a great weekend so far.
Could u write the title of the song?
Cuz “this video is not available in my country” -.-
xoxo
Hi Lisa,
The name of the song is Speechless.
These look great on you! You look really fresh.
.-= Amber’s last blog post… Care package =-.
Merci beaucoup, homie!
Happy Friday, btw. Got any plans for the weekend?
Husband has to work Sat/Sun, so I may do some pre-vacation shopping and have a spa-at-home day!
.-= Amber’s last blog post… Spring pollinators =-.
I love those at home spa days. 🙂 I was putzing around the garage and found a long-lost foot massage/bath thing-a-ma-bobber (I’m pretty sure that’s not the technical name). Time to fire it up for an at-home spa pedi!!
If you live in the bay area, the promotion at The Body Shop this weekend is buy 3 items for 30$. Don’t know if this is international or national…
Thanks for the heads up, Erica!
kinda related….I love The Body Shop’s Aloe line. it changed my life! I have some hardcore problem skin as of late. I started using a mix of the aloe and seaweed lines and my skin has never felt or looked better. the aloe day cream is my favorite!!
