Rockin’ Bad Mama Jama Eyelashes with Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara

I’ve been lovin’ my naturally wimpy lashes lately thanks to Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara in Extra Black ($22). This waterproof delovely does everything a good mascara should, adding dramatic length and volume and holding a mad crazy good curl all day long (it has a densely bristled brush like the one that comes with Diorshow Plum mascara).

Smoky Lash flat-out refuses to smudge, not even after a sweaty 90-minute hip hop class. Between my Cabbage Patch and Kid N’ Play the other night (it was an old-school theme), I couldn’t help but bat my eyelashes in the mirror; they just looked so BILLBOARD. Big, bad and bold, I tell ya, like Heavy D and Chubb Rock in their prime. 🙂 Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Yay! I’m so glad you like the mascara, Karen. I don’t see you doing a lot of makeup forever posts so when I saw this one I jumped and couldn’t wait to find out what you think. Chanel is my HG mascara, but you know I love mufe, too.

      Hi Shontay,

I love Chanel too, but I love to hop around. Have you ever tried the Smoky Marine Exceptionnel? I’m sorely tempted by it.

    I need some help!
I’m going to high school monday *screams with joy* and i need the best drugstore foundation you’ve ever tried. Light to Medium coverage, neutral shade, and doesnt transfer on to everything *cough Maybelline Mouse stuff cough*. I have no time for sephora :(, and theres a CVS like 3 blocks away.
    Thanks!

      Hi Kailey,

Revlon Colorstay! It comes in a ton of colors and it doesn’t move. Looks great when applied with a skunk brush (like the MAC 187).

Are you ready for your first day?

Yay! I just searched your blog for this the other day! I wasn’t sure if I should buy this one, but I just realized that some of my favorite mascaras aren’t waterproof. I was torn after reading both good and bad reviews of it, but now I am leaning a little more toward “yes”. Thanks! 🙂

      Hi CC,

You’re welcome. For waterproof another one I like is Stila Lash Visor. Have you tried it? It has the same crazy good lash curl as this one (along with volume and length), but the finish is a bit more glossy.

I have always wanted to try it and I always read great reviews about it I guess It’s my next buy. Hey Kailey try compact foundation or Physicians Formula foundation those never made me breakout and the powders are awesome too.

MUFE Smoky Lash is hands down the best mascara I’ve ever used, but the price tag is keeping me from buying the larger size. For now I’ll stick to loreal telescopic lash.

I’m making my annual ginormous trip to Sephora’s in 2 weeks, and this definitely is something to add to my list! Which brings my total up to probably somewhere around $250… 0:

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
