Poudre Lumiere in Golden Hat, $40
“Sweetie, have you seen my golden hat?”
“Yes, babe, I think so. I think I saw it downstairs on an illuminating powder.”
Um, how pretty is Poudre Lumiere in Golden Hat ($42)? It’s the illuminating highlighting powder in Lancôme’s new The Golden Hat Foundation Holiday 2011 collection, and I absolutely love the design on that pan.
Designed to make skin shimmer and sparkle, but in a quiet way, it can be worn on the cheeks or all over the face.
The first time I opened the compact, I thought, “Glitter!” Big flecks of it on the two shades in the pan — a cool, pale gold and a cool, pale pink. The big flecks appear to be part of an overspray, though, because beneath the uber-shimmery top layer sits colors with a soft, subtle sheen, as opposed to a high-intensity glitter shimmer.
“Lancôme is thrilled to announce its support of the Golden Hat Foundation, a non-profit created by beloved Ambassadress Kate Winslet to raise funds to better the lives of children living with autism. To support Kate Winslet’s inspiring philanthropic endeavor, Lancôme has worked with her to create a stunning holiday collection that brings to life the spirit and message of the charity.”
On my tan, warm skin, neither of the finely milled powders really registers very well (and also look a little ashy), not even after several layers, but I have a feeling that’s because they prefer paler princesses with cooler skin tones than mine.
Still, even though I’m not a perfect candidate for this Golden Hat, I can’t help but like the idea and style. I could just sit and stare at the pan for hours…

I’m not sure for my pale warm toned skin but I sure will try! I like the fact that it’s subtle–better for more ahem mature skin like mine.

It looks like a nice subtle highlighter for lighter less-warm skin tone. While I love pressed powders with embossed designs, I can’t bring myself to actually use them as they tend to look awful once used.

SO gorgeous! I’m super pale so maybe this would work for me. The last thing I need is another highlighter but gosh…this might have to get into my collection!

This would be a lovely collector’s item!
Love it!

I bought it, but don’t think I will use it anytime soon, it’s just too pretty. That’s the problem with Lancome’s pretty powders, but I still can’t not buy them, lol.

I don’t know, from here it looks great on you! But that just might be your natural glow:)

Really pretty compact! I would hate to ruin the design. Lol.

Wow, this powder is beautiful! But like you, my skin is medium so it wouldn’t show up. A shame, I’ve been looking for a new “blush” lately…

I love the idea behind this collection! I’m pale, so this may work for me..

Hmmm, alot of people seem to like the packaging. The design isn’t unattractive, but it doesn’t make me want to go to the store right away and buy it. I still prefer the packaging of my Dior Amber Diamond highlighter because that packaging is to die for. *drool*

I’m a “lighter lovely”, I like pretty pans, but I’m pretty poor 🙁 Beautiful job though Lancome!

I think it looks very pretty on actually – might need to check this one out myself!

I’m just starting to appreciate the multicolor blushes and shimmer products. Great for winter when I need a little extra color. Of course, I do have the pasty pale complexion these products seem to be designed for.

very pretty and what a great cause! I work with kids with Autism and I did not know of this organization nor that Kate Winslett supported the cause. Very admirable!
