Josie Maran Blush in Fever Is Making My Temperature Rise

July 2nd, 2010 by Karen 22 Comments

Josie Marah Fever Blush Swatches Reviews Photos

“Doctor, you have to help me! I think I’m seeing things.”

“Oh?”

“Yah, I just saw a woman who looked feverish! — but I mean that in the best possible way.”

You see, there’s a fever going around (no, not Justin Bieber), but this fever’s more of a blessing than a curse. It most certainly IS contagious, however, and it’s spreading fast.

Fever ($20), one of three new blushes from eco-friendly Josie Maran, launched exclusively at Sephora earlier this summer as part of a completely new line of blushes designed to lend a light flush to cheeks.

Blossom (a soft peach), Fever (a rosy beige) and Passion (a fresh pink) each contain Moroccan Argan oil, an oil rich in vitamin E, and JM claims that wearing them improves a variety of skin trubs, including dryness and hyper pigmentation.

Conveniently, I have both of those trubs, LOL!

Wearing Fever

Since I started wearing Fever about a week ago, I haven’t noticed any improvement in my skin, but I must admit I didn’t really expect to. Luckily, I like how natural the color looks and how long it lasts on my skin, and JM really outdid themselves on the packaging, too, with a nifty biodegradeable compact (so cool!).

Fever itself feels like velvet and blends seamlessly into my skin. Too bad about the limited color selection (just three?), but I hope to see JM release some additional colors soon. I like Fever for $20, but I’d love love it for $15. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+/A-

You might like Josie Maran Fever Blush if…

  • You’re looking for a rosy blush with a matte finish
  • You want a healthy, natural-looking cheek flush
  • You don’t like to spend a lot of time blending your blushes
  • You want a blush that’ll last all day long

TGIF!

Girls, I’m BEYOND HAPPY tonight! I just got home from grocery paradise, aka Trader Joe’s, where I picked up picnic food (sandwiches, chips, dried nuts, Vitamin Water) for tomorrow’s day trip to Lake Berryessa with El Hub. I haven’t been swimming in ages, so I hope the water’s warm! I’m not too thrilled about showcasing my muffin top in public, but I’ll get over it.

Have a great night (get your beauty rest!). Time to give Tabs his gravy. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hey Sue,

I just checked the Josie Maran website for you; unfortch the line is available in the US and Canada for now. They don’t ship internationally, either. 🙁

Hmm. $20 *is* pretty high, but Fever is just lovely! (And, okay, so it helps that I adore Josie’s sleek, sophisticated packaging.)

Have fun on your picnic! That sounds like a BLAST 🙂

Do you know if this blush is similar to Illamasqua Beg?

      Hey Tiffany!

What are you up to this weekend?

Regarding the blush, both have a matte finish, but Beg is darker and redder. Fever is lighter with more rose tones.

Fun! We have a pool in our condo complex, but it’s closed due to construction on the pool house (BOO!).

Are you just chillin’ at home today?

Am commenting not about the blush but about you naming Trader Joe’s as your grocery paradise. It is mine too! I can never leave TJ’s without feeling happy! And thank you for mentioning before how good those chocolate hazelnut biscottis are. 🙂

I love how you are able to get swatches on two different shades of skin! Being darker myself, I prefer how the color shows up on your skin! Definitely giving these a try at Sephora.

The blush looks very pretty on you and speaking of the Argan oil, I would love to try the oil one day. I am very curious about it, since Josie Maran speaks so highly of it and it seems to have mostly positive reviews on Sephora’s website the last time I checked.

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
