It Takes Urban Decay Naked2 to Make a Thing Go Right… It Takes Urban Decay Naked2 to Make It Outta Sight

urban decay naked2 palette

I wanna rock right now.
I’m K-Dog and I came to get down.
My cat’s internationally known,
And he’s known to rock the microphone.

‘Cause I get stupid, I mean outrageous,
My love for UD Naked2 is contagious.
These shadows are winners, no, they’re not losers,
With 12 shades total for every neutral user.

Ladies love it, girls adore it,
I mean even the ones who never saw it like…
The way that the shades just flow.
The reason why, UD steals the show,
So let’s go, ’cause…

It takes Naked2 to make a thing go right…
It takes Naked2 to make it outta sight.

The Urban Decay Naked2 Palette in a Nutshell

  • What you get: 12 powder shadows (five new shades and seven repromotes), one dual-tipped Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush, one mini-Lip Junkie Gloss in Naked
  • What it’s for: For use as a standalone palette, or as a sister palette to the original Naked Palette
  • What you should know: At least to me, the brush feels a little stiff, but it blends shadows like a magician. The Lip Junkie Gloss, I could do without (too minty and sticky), but I love, LOVE the shadows. They exhibit no fallout and apply super smooth and pigmented. I can see myself hitting the pan on all of the new shades, especially Pistol and Snake Bite.

The Urban Decay Naked2 Palette: Breaking down the shades

  • Foxy Eyeshadow: A matte creamy bisque with a matte finish (repromote)
  • Half Baked Eyeshadow: A golden bronze with a shimmery finish (repromote)
  • Booty Call Eyeshadow: A shimmery cork (new)
  • Chopper Eyeshadow: A copper shimmer with silver micro glitter (repromote)
  • Tease Eyeshadow: A creamy pale brown with a matte finish (new)
  • Snake Bite Eyeshadow: A dark bronze shimmer with a metallic base (new)
  • Suspect Eyeshadow: A pale golden beige with a shimmery finish (repromote)
  • Pistol Eyeshadow: A light greyish brown with a shimmery finish (new)
  • Verve Eyeshadow: An oyster with a shimmery finish (repromote)
  • YDK Eyeshadow: A cool bronze shimmer with a metallic base (repromote)
  • Busted Eyeshadow: A deep brown with a shimmery finish (new)
  • Blackout Eyeshadow: A blackest black with a matte finish (repromote)
  • Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked Eyeshadow: A sheer shimmery pinky neutral (repromote)

I see there aren’t that many mattes in this. Bbbbuuuut… I’m still gon get it coz I collect UD palettes. Besides, I love neutrals. This will be a great addition to what I already have.

I seriously hope UD makes an all-matte palette soon. I would surely go bananas over it!

I’ve been hoping for the same thing. I dont buy many cosmetics full priced lol, but that I would nab up in a hot second! I bought one of their discontinued matte shadows from their sale section online, and honest to god it’s the nicest feeling eyeshadow I’ve ever tried. Its soft, seriously packed with pigment, blends like butter, oooh. A palette of shadows like that would be a dream!

      Hi Annie,

I think it is. The colors (apart from Half Baked) are different enough to distinguish it from the first (there’s a lot of cool/neutral shades). I actually kinda like the new one even more because of the new colors, especially Pistol and Snake Bite. I’ve been wearing those a LOT!

Let me know if you have any other questions. Always happy to help!

    • Karen says

      December 1st, 2011 at 9:47 am

      Hi Nikia,

The biggest difference for me is the coolness of the colors. A lot of these shades lean cool, but at the same time they’re not so cool that warm gals like me will have trubs wearing it. The shadows generally are very butter and pigmented. I get a teensy tiny bit from Chopper, but I think that’s mainly because of the glitter flecks. Everything else is very solid, though.

Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Thanks for the reply! I placed an order for it after trying for I don’t know how long because of the site’s high volume of traffic. The bad part is that I got the original palette just a few months ago, lol!!! I hope the colors aren’t too similar to the point where I’ll regret making this purchase 🙁

Thanks for popping in to say hello!

I like both palettes and think they’re incredibly beautiful and practical. It really depends on what you want. Are you more of a cool- or warm- toned eyeshadow person? If you like cooler tones, Naked2 would probably be better for you. For warmer, the original Naked. Here are some swatches of the first palette so you can get an idea of the vibe:

I’m kinda torn on getting this palette. If I didn’t fall in love with the first collection, what makes me think I’ll like this one? Naked 1 is sitting around collecting dust, and I’ve only used it less than a hand full of times. I’m assuming maybe I’m not using them with a correct base cause I normally use MAC’s paint in Bare Canvas & paint pot in Painterly. With both bases the shadows didn’t look so well. I ended up being a hot shimmery mess. ::sigh:: Maybe I should just give in and use the primer potion instead??

I have always been a “flawless face” girl more than an “elaborate eye” girl. I just purchased the original Naked palette to explore some new territory, but I’m finding the shades to be so pink.. anyway looks like I will be skipping this new palette, although that brush seems pretty handy and I might pick up a couple of the individual shades if they are available. I was still kind of eyeing the Book of Shadows even though I definitely do not need it..

      Hi Solangel,

Both are really beautiful palettes. It really depends on what you want. The original Naked feels much more warmer, which could work with your olive skin well. Here are the swatches, in case you’re interested:

      https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/product-reviews/its-official-im-getting-naked-with-urban-decay-this-fall/

This new one feels much more cooler/neutral. There are some really gorgeous shades though… I have similar coloring to yours, and several of the new colors seem to play really well with my skin, especially Snake Bite and Pistol!

There’s also packaging to consider. Naked2 is sturdier. If you plan on taking this palette with you in your purse/gym bag, then it might be a better choice.

HTH. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I really like the palette, but I’m sure that I’ve got dupes for most of those colours and the price is a bit ouch – I’ve already spent far too much on makeup in the last 2 moths what with all the Sephora sales and what not. However, I kind of like the idea of having ALL the Naked palettes (UD and TF). I don’t mind the lipgloss (although it doesn’t make much sense) as I already have 3 sample UDPPs.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Snakebite looks pretty. I hope these colors will be flattering on a NC50 gal like myself. Do you know when it might be available at Sephora? I’d rather buy it from there and bulk up my VIB points :).

Oh my goodness. I never that I would like another palette more than the original, but Naked2 might have it beat! I wish it switched out Half Baked for a different shadow, but I’m sure I’ll use it up nonetheless 😀
I was wondering, I like the case too, but does it feel sturdy? I feel like it can sometimes go both ways with those plastic cases…

      Hi Rachel,

Yes, it feels very sturdy, like it’s made out of tin or something. It should be able to withstand traveling well.

Let me know if you have any more questions. 🙂

OMG… is that a matte color I see that would be perfect for the browbone??? bc that is one thing always missing from awesome palettes that prevent it from being a onestop shop for me! I always want a matte cream color for my browbone and matte brownish shade for crease (Tease could work here).

    MUST GET THIS!!!

Yes, GURL! I’ve been alternating between Booty Call and Foxy on my brow bones. Both look great when applied with something like the 224.

You know what sucks? I have the Naked one, and even though it’s designed for warmer skin tones, I use that thing like it’s going out of style. UD FINALLY makes a palette designed for little me (she who has cool toned skin)….and I’m not liking it. I keep looking at it and thinking, “Nah, I want my Naked palette. This is yucky.” I think I need more convincing. I have a naked palette for the wrong skintone. XDDDDDDDD

Well, maybe. I keep looking at this one and the more I look at it, the more I’m convinced it’s made for warmer skintones. I need to check this one out at a store.

    Hi Karen,

For someone who wears NC 45 in Studio Fix (medium to dark brown skin – depending on the season – with yellow undertones) which palette would you recommend, 1 or 2? All the reviews online are just confusing the hell out of me!

    Thank you!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
