I Blush So Easily With Simply Vera Vera Wang Cosmetics Illuminating Powder Blush

With so many starring roles in big budget blockbuster movies coming out this summer, Tabs has practically been living on the red carpets for weeks, which has meant that I’ve barely had 10 minutes to breathe, eat or blend out my blush.

Problem is, someone’s gotta field the phone calls from reporters inquiring about Tabs. “Is he seeing anyone?” “How much fur does he show in Magic Mike, and did he waive his nudity clause?”

Good grief…

Still, busy or not, even though I’ve been totally swamped doing tasks for Tabs, I will not leave the house without at least a little blush on my cheeks. No way, no how. That, my dear Tabs, is non-negotiable.

When I’m having one of those completely cray days, I like sheer blushes that are easy to apply, like the pinkish beige Simply Vera Vera Wang Illuminating Powder Blush in 315 ($19.50). It’s one of six Powder Blushes in Vera’s new makeup line now available at Kohl’s.

No need to pinch my cheeks when I’ve got 315 around. I just pop a little on my cheeks using the “bounce technique” and a blush brush. Very little blending required. I can be out the door at a moment’s meow. 🙂

Better yet, 10-12 hours later, it’s still going strong.

I just wish it seemed a little more unique…and pushed the envelope downward in terms of price.

I feel like I can get a similar look for less without having to go very far, even if we’re talking about MAC. MAC Powder Blush in Blushbaby comes to mind.

Sure, Vera includes a brush — albeit not the greatest brush in the world — but even so, I think there’s a little room for improvement here in terms of value. From MAC, you get 0.21 ounces of blush per pan; here, you get one third less product (0.13 ounces) for almost the same price ($19.50).

PRICE: $19.50 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now exclusively at Kohl’s stores and kohls.com

The colour is subtle and pretty! I’ve never tried anything from Vera Wang except one of her perfumes.

I’ve been to Kohl’s before for household items, but I’ve never tried their cosmetics and didn’t even know that they carried cosmetics. Do you know if Kohl’s offer testers for the Vera Wang products? I want to check them out in person and play around with the colors on my arm. =)

I love these natural blushes–easy and pretty is what I look for and it looks like these Vera Wang blushes really deliver on that! Love it! Can’t wait to see them in person (tomorrow hopefully)

I love how this blush looks on you. So fresh and natural! But I will have to agree that just looking at the colour in pan, it isn’t that unique. Not sure what is it about designers and cosmetics lately. They don’t always hit it out of the ball park in terms of quality but their prices sure are!

Great minds think alike! I immediately thought of blushbaby as soon as I saw the first picture of you.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
