Green Means Go: Tarte Green Siren Cheek Stain

August 26th, 2009 by Karen 21 Comments

I suppose I could drop and do pushups to wake myself up. Then again, Tarte’s new limited edition Green Siren Cheek Stain ($30) works much faster and requires significantly less effort.

tarte-green-siren-swatch

Weightless and blendable, this shimmery golden peach cheek stain (Tarte says it’s 100% natural) delivers dewy flushes in a flash. Just a dab on the apples of my cheeks, a little blending, and 10 seconds later I’ve got a post-workout glow sans the perspiration.

I’ve worn it on bare skin and also tried it above my foundation and powder. No matter what, I think it’s always looked fab.

For my time-stapped girls who love quick, natural cheek looks, Tarte’s got a great option for fall. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+

Where’d the summer go?

Happy hump day, chicas. We’re half way through the week, huzzah!

It hit me today that summer is just about over… Can you believe it?!

I can handle the boots, cozy sweaters and rich colors that come with fall, but I’m nowhere near ready for a return to the cold.

How do you feel about fall? Are you starting a new semester in school or getting ready to send the kids back to class?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

That looks fabulous on you! I love Tarte cheekstains… why only a B+? You didn’t mention any negatives.

      Hi Marilyn,

The price tag. I wish it was cheaper! 🙂

    Hey Karen,

I just have to get through tomorrow and I am on vacay for a week. I cannot wait. Summer seemed to go by pretty fast, but it’s not over yet! I really want fall to kick in b/c I can’t take the heat. I really want to wear my denim jackets and scarves. I want my slouchy boots and think sweaters. I live in NJ so I don’t want to 50 ft of snow we usually get, I just want a relief from the heat.

I use to wear tarte cheek stains all the time when I first started dabbling in makeup. They are pretty nice. I can’t get enough of nars now, though.

      Hi Shontay,

How exciting! Are you going anywhere, or will you be relaxing at home?

Ooh, that looks really nice on you! I love that there are so many more natural products to choose from lately, but my Sephora wishlist is getting out of hand! Some LE items are disappearing before I get my hands on them. 🙁 Oh well, such is life. Great necklace, by the way. 🙂

      Hi Eru,

This one would look really pretty on you. I think it’s one of those shades goes with so many different skin tones!

      Hi Gio,

Thanks! 🙂 That necklace is super old — Macy’s from like three years ago.

      Happy Thursday!

That is a pretty color on you. Some days I really wish we had a Sephora here and other times my wallet is glad we don’t.

I am NOT looking forward to the snow and cold, at all.

      Hi TaLaisa,

Eeek! I could never live in a snowy climate. Here in NorCal it gets into the 40s — and that’s my max cold limit!

      Hi Marisol,

It’s an old one I got from Macy’s a few years back to wear to the Paris Hilton interview. Normally I wear it long, but I doubled the strand to switch it up a little.

      Happy Thursday!

Really pretty, very glow-y. But you’re right, 30 bucks is a lot for a cheek stain.

I am SO ready for Fall. I actually would prefer to be cold rather than hot. You can always add more layers. When you’re hot, there’s not much you can do. But I also live somewhere where it can hit 115 degrees. That will make anyone a fan of Fall!

    Hey karen,

I will be relaxing at home and hanging out with buddies. You know, all the good stuff. I’ll throw some shopping in there, too, of course. Lol

I am so excited about the Fall. I’ve been getting into the mood already. My vampy nailpolishes are out and in use! I also bought two new pairs of shoes that scream fall. Too bad fall doesn’t happen in Atlanta until November 😛

      Hi Marce,

LOL! I wish I could skip working out. If I don’t run or do cardio my sweet addiction catches up with me.

Do you guys get tarte down there?

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
