China Glaze Fight Like a Woman Collection Swatches and Thoughts

July 17th, 2010 by Karen 31 Comments

china glaze fight like a woman swatches reviews photos

Rise and shine, pal o’ mine. Got a few more nail swatches for ya. These are from the upcoming China Glaze Fight Like a Woman collection ($6 each), which sashays onto shelves this September, just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month a few days later.

A portion of each sale goes to benefit the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a branch of the World Health Organization devoted to the science of cancer and to promoting better collaboration between international organizations working on cancer research.

Endurance is the shade that REALLY catches my eye… It’s the raspberry pink with silver micro-glitter, but let me know which color you like most in the comments.

Endurance

Creamy Empowerment (the mid-tone pink) is a little thicker than I expected it to be and takes some patience to apply, but it comes out pretty if I take my time and use thin coats. The other two shades are maybe a tad easier to work with.

Have a great morning, okay? I’ll be back in a jiffy. I want to get in a quick run before it gets too hot. See you soon.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Mill,

What kind of exercise do you like doing? I like pretty much everything except sit ups. 🙁

Hope you’re having a nice Saturday so far!

I’m such a sucker for pinks, and I like that they chose a research foundation for their charity. Is that last one a little glittery? I can’t quite tell.

Yes, it does! It looks like a cream in the bottle, but once you get it on the teeniest, tiniest little silver glitter specks show up.

I hope you had a good run! I HATE running. I do two other exercise routines (which I’ve ignored the past week….oops). I walk Zena for 15-30 minutes to avoid running at all costs. Asthma and running don’t mix!

My favorite colors are the first two, the second one being my #1 favorite.

Walking is great exercise and it’s low impact.

It’s been a while! How have you been?

I’ve been okay. My power supply in my computer kicked the can (my new one comes in on Tuesday…you kinda need one for your computer to turn on), so I’ve been resigned to my mom’s laptop. I’ve been reading everyday, but commenting on the teeny keyboard is hard! Let’s not forget the awful glare!

Yea, I do a lot of walking because it’s low-impact. I use running shoes with air chambers when I walk Zena since I live in a really hilly area. I use those shoes to reduce the impact on my (bad) knees and don’t cause the spastic CP in my legs to flare up when I walk her. Dorky and clunky, yes, but I don’t care!

I don’t wear shoes at all when I do my workouts, however. I find I’m less clumsy and my balance is better when my feet can feel the floor. I do a 10 minute bun, thighs and abs workout (Comcast is awesome. Free workout videos!) and once or twice a week I do the Kim Kardashian Fit in Your Jeans by Friday Abs workout (good workout and only about 20 minutes long). I have a very weak upper body so I’m trying to strengthen that. I have a 4-pack (thanks to Zena and her love of tug) but I would love to have my 6-pack back!

I like Empowerment best, if Endurance was without glitter I would like that too. I rarely like glitter in a nail polish, like in a million years or so.. And I like their charity choice too.

I don’t mind the glitter so much, but I’d probably like a glitter free version too. 🙂

I like Endurance the best, too, although I will be getting all three of the shades when they come out. October may be Breast Cancer Awareness month, but one of my friends is terminally ill with ovarian cancer, and so any little way I can support cancer research, I will.

Sharon, I’m so sorry your friend is terminally ill. It’s absolutely agonizing knowing when one of your friends or family members has cancer. It must be harder knowing there isn’t much they can do because it’s terminal.

If you wish to support ovarian cancer research, last year some nail polish companies (Sally’s Girl, Piggy Polish, Priti and Diamond Cosmetics) released a teal nail polish in September (Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month) and some of the proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Research. I’m not sure if they’re doing it this year, but you can check! L’Oreal Paris releases a shade every year too!

Love this so much! My grandmother on my mom’s side passed away from breast cancer before I was born. I also have an aunt and cousin who have fought breast cancer. I love donating to the cause — will for sure get these for my mom and sisters!!

Empowerment looks great. Very cute Barbie color.
Endurance has too much and too big shimmer. Not unique at all.
Encouragement is tricky… I dont like suck color.
Its great that China Glaze cooperates with Health organizations!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
