Makeup brands hooking up with bloggers and social media “influencers” is nothing new these day, but it’s nice to see a collab with someone I’ve met who was super nice in person and real, in this case YouTuber Weylie Hoang.
I met her a few years back at a Too Faced event, and she was kind and sweet, so GO WEYLIE! Congrats on your collaboration with Pixi. 🙂
Isn’t this cute?
It’s a Pixi two-piece $20 kit with a neutral eyeshadow palette and a black liner, and it’s called the Dimensional Eye Creator. So basics, which I appreciate.
Weylie wears lots of natural eye looks, and you can see that in her color choices. There are six powder eyeshadows, three mattes, three shimmers, and a dual-ended pencil liner with a twist-up pencil on one end and a felt-tip liquid liner on the other.
I’m digging the mattes, which I call “Monday mattes” because I can work them even on tough days. They’re on the sheerer side, so if I just want a single swish of brown on my lids, one of these mattes hits the spot. They’re all warm browns, but my favorite is the golden brown, which is a cross between MAC Cork and MAC Saddle.
As for the shimmers, well…if bling is your thing, you’ll probably like ’em. They’re super frosty and pigmented, so they’re dramatic, and they’re SO GOOD for a spotlight center lid highlight or an inner corner highlight with one of the mattes in the crease.
They’re a little too shiny for me right off the bat, but I like that I can buff the shimmer down. And by “too shiny” for me, I mean that if I apply too much, I can really see those lid lines…
I’m into the liner too (so rich!), but the caps are almost impossible to open with my hands T. Rex claws.
The two-piece kit is $20, so it’s pretty affordable, and you can find it now at Target and the Pixi website.

hi, do you consider it a warm or a cool palette?
Karen says
Hi Icequeen,
I’d say it’s a warm palette. 🙂

Love the colors, warms look better on me 🙂

and looks amazing on you too

I love both warm and cool! 🙂 Warm palettes are super trendy right now. I like that this one doesn’t have a ton of red.

Indeed I dont like red or too orange either. I can’t wear a warm red on the lips but can wear a cool red color on them .On my face I cant wear cool but can wear warm it is complex.

I like it a lot, but I am not sure if I need more of these colors in my collection.

Ooo, this one is so tempting! Beautiful colors to make endless combos. I might have to pick this one up!

How did you find the wear time for the eyeliners? I’m still trying to find a liner that can get through a full day at a theme park. ^_^
