Hallelujar (which is like hallelujah on steroids), ladies! It’s the weekend. 🙂 And I’ve been really looking forward to this one because 1) I needed the extra sleep, 2) El Hub doesn’t have to go to work and 3) I’m driving home to see my parents tomorrow for my dad’s birthday bash.
What’s shakin’ out yonder way? Anything new to report? The headline here reads: “It’s almost like summer!” You’d swear this was California judging by how sunny it is today. Of course, I feel like a bum because I spent the morning cooped up inside, but it wasn’t my fault. Benefit Spiked Punch gloss and MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot were holding me captive…
The boards are waxed and I’m ready to hit the waves, girls. Care to do some Saturday Surfing with me? Hang ten!

Heya Karen — were having a beautiful day here but so far weve stayed inside. We made beans (for the Hubs) and some goulash for nom. Other than that, we have been lazy!!! We will go out for a long walk later though.
That Stila palette looks interesting. Ive not bought Stila in a while but have my old favorites that I still use every so often. Im also interested in the Lorac palette mostly because everything ive ever bough from Lorac has been pure love!!! Im excited for the new CLEAN fragrance too.
Supergoop is a great product. Ive used the sunscreen every day since I got it. I would try those wipes – great for travelling esp if youre outdoors. Were going to Austin first week of May and will go to Barton Springs – that might be a good product to bring, esp since im starting to pack my cosmetic/skin care kit already.
Ive used the Phyto relaxing balm for a few days already – so far, im liking it. It doesnt have a scent and really works – gives me manageable, straight but not limp hair. I think ive found a replacement for the Fekkai Ironless Balm thats been out of stock since forever @ Sephora.
Whoo… im talking (typing) a lot! Sorry for ramblin’ and have a great day!!! Happy Birthday to your dad!!!
Karen says
Hi Nina,
A lazy relaxing day sounds wonderful. What is goulash? It seems like a very mysterious dish, LOL!
You’ll probably laugh, but part of the reason why I’m so intrigued by Supergoop is the font. It’s called “Fabulous 50s” and I used it on my save-the-date invites for our wedding.
Phyto makes some great stuff! Have you tried their shampoos and conditioners? Kinda pricey, but really nice products.

I am so glad you like that video! It’s so beautiful . . . Give me the chills . . . I really need to find out how to own the whole thing, and I think I might be buying some of the music as well 🙂
Karen says
Hi Hyzenthlay,
Me too. I have no desire to go fast on land, but I’d love to float like that through the air!
How’s your weekend going? Have you done anything fun?
Hyzenthlay says
I’ve had a nice weekend 🙂 I went to the Farmer’s Market yesterday morning, then out to Costco. Assembled the patio set and sat out there for a couple of hours yesterday AND today! I’m reading “The Immortal Life of HEnrietta LAcks,” which is a stunning story. I got my BS in Cellular Biology, so I heard and learned a lot about HeLa cells. I’ve heard that even if you’re not a science person it’s a good read.

Love me some crazy cat lady shoes! Those are a BIT out of my price range (they are cat shoes after all). But I do own FOUR pairs of cat shoes. One pink pair of boots, a pair of flat mary janes, and two sneakers, pink and black, all by TUK. Sooooo cute. Hahaha.
Karen says
Hi Donna,
LOL, if I could afford this pair (I think I fainted when I saw the price tag) this would be my first pair of crazy cat lady shoes. 🙂

Hey Karen! I am absolutely dying to pick up the Crush Glow palette, but I want to use my stash of Macy’s gift cards and I am stuck in a tiny town that doesn’t have a Macy’s for miles. I was going to order online, but you still have to provide a credit card and I don’t trust my hotel’s network with my credit card. I am stuck here for work until at least Wednesday. Arrrgh, can’t wait to get back to the city!!

Heya fellow Houstonian! 😀
I read youve been to Harwin — funny that I havent and my work is so close to that place! Ive heard talk of a CCO type of thing in that area as well ….:)
Amber says
Hey Nina! Harwin is so awesome that it has taken some of the shine off my passion for online sample sales. I have seen some of the exact same items for a fraction of the *discount* prices! You’ve got to go sometime. Prepare to be overwhelmed.
Would love to hear more about the CCO thing! I haven’t had the motivation to go all the way out to the outlet mall.

Nina says
Ill see if I can pop over to that alleged CCO type thingy sometime this week. Ill keep you posted.
We did go to the outlet mall to get a Le Creuset. What a LONG drive LOL. I managed to get some stuff @ the CCO but was in a rush because the Hubs and our poochie was waiting. 😀
Karen says
Hi Amber,
Oh noooes! Just hang in there… civilization is just around the corner, LOL!
How about trying a few other department stores like Nordies? I think they take credit card orders over the phone.
Amber says
They have a Dillard’s here and I could just go pick it up, but I want to use those gift cards so I have to hold out. But I have already figured out where there is a Macy’s between here and home for the drive back, haha! 🙂
