New in Beauty, Jan. 24: A Barbie T3 and Sparkly Glosses from LORAC

January 24th, 2010 by Karen 14 Comments

What’s shakin’, turkey bacon? How’s it going, ladies? I’m bummed it’s already Sunday night. Tabs has to go back to work tomorrow (he had me iron his tie), and he’s none too pleased about it. Poor cat’s gotta earn his keep though. 🙂

In other news, I didn’t do much today, other than finish a whole mess of laundry, write a couple posts, watch the latest 30 Rock on Hulu (LOVE Julianne Moore’s Boston accent. It’s wicked cool!) and window-shop for clothes online (didn’t find anything).

I did, however…

…almost die and go to heaven when I came across this Barbie Edition of the T3 Featherweight Dryer ($200). It’s SUPER CUTE!

And in other Sunday beauty news…

LORAC is going *sparkle motion* with the new Multiplex 3D Lip Gloss ($22).

I almost rose from my chair at the sight of this Korres Japanese Rose Showergel ($20).

Um, is anyone else strangely fascinated by Givenchy’s transparent Mister Eyebrow Fixing Pencil ($23)?

Have you been wondering what to do with an extra $1,600?

Got stress? I feel your pain, homie. Maybe we need Aveeno Stress Relief Foaming Bath ($6).

A new $20 eye primer from LORAC? Tell me more.

Tori Amos = AWESOMENESS. Tori Amos + Smashbox = AWESOMENESS DELUXE.

Who else is tempted to taste (NOTE: Probably not a good idea, BTW) Philosophy’s Butterscotch Bliss Shower Gel ($16)?

All aboard! YSL is jumping on the stick gloss bandwagon with Gloss Volupte ($30).

Enjoy the rest of your night. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    SO adorable, yah?

And the name keeps making me picture a Barbie Terminator, like a blonde Summer Glau. Oh, how I miss that show…

I’ve been eying Mister Eyebrow for ages 😀 I was able to try it out in Sephora and it seems like a nice product, a little sticky, but I’m not sure that I $23 like it. It seems like it should be priced at about $18 tops.

The Givency mister Eyebrow is a bit odd. It makes me think of some kind of eyebrow wax in a pencil? Odd.

And I love Tori Amos! I’ll see if I can find those products, the lipgloss looks really pretty 🙂

I went back to work today after a week of being sick. As I was drying my hair, I found myself wishing for a hair dryer that will really, really, really cut my drying time in half. Its just so tiring sitting there holding a hair dryer. I think I will invest in a T3 already. That might give me more time to snooze in the morning when it doesnt take forever and a day to dry my hair…..

That hairdryer is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Maybe if my current one “accidentally” broke….. 😉

I’ve purchased Mister Eyebrow before. It’s actually a pencil, but the core of the pencil is wax. I didn’t like it that much so I returned it at Sephora (first product I’d returned). It left residue on the brows, even though it was supposed to be transparent. Not as natural as it’s made out to be, I think.

I’m sorry to offend you, but I’m from Boston and Julianne Moore’s Boston accent was probably one of the worst I’ve ever heard. She seriously needed some tips! But as a Harvard med student I did love Toofer’s “I went to school in Boston, no not in Boston, but near, no not Tufts” I was dying because everyone at Harvard has that same pretentious attitude.

OMG – the 8yr old in me squealed when I saw that Barbie T3 – if I had $200 laying around it would be mine. And so would the Louboutin Barbie!

I would be embarrassed to have a Barbie dryer at my age :O

Oh. My. Goodness. Hello, Barbie T3, you need to be mine! Of course, I don’t think I can convince hubby that I need a $200 blow dryer because it has Barbie on it. LOL!

That new Lorac eye primer looks interesting – I love my Urban Decay Primer Potion, but the packaging stinks, which is why I am trying out other primers when this runs out. I would love a review of this if you get it.

Hope you had a great Sunday evening!

I love the idea of a stick gloss, but I wish there were more affordable alternatives. Can we keep it under the $25 range?? Also, those shades aren’t the most versatile, are they now?

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
