New in Beauty, Feb. 18: Chanel’s $75 Temporary Tattoos and La Mer’s Regenerating Serum

February 18th, 2010 by Karen 19 Comments

New in Beauty

  • Chanel’s fashionably expensive new temporary tattoos ($75) are now on sale. Are they something you’d wear?
  • For the La Mer lovahs: Regenerating Serum ($250)
  • It’s a little early to think about Mother’s Day, but I bet Mom would like this yellow Clarisonic Mia ($149).
  • Pink Sugar wants to scent your coif with Hair Perfume ($15).
  • The bottle for Givenchy’s Ange ou Demon Le Secret Perfume ($73) looks … interesting.
  • I hope Sedu’s new Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Dryer ($150) works as well as their flat iron.
  • I love Clinique’s Even Better Skin Tone Corrector and can’t wait to try their Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector ($50).
  • Something tells me Mimi/MC/Mariah would love these Hello Kitty Lip Gloss Rings ($5)
  • Speaking of pop beauties, I’m curious about Pop Beauty’s No Show Correct & Protect SPF 30 ($28) and Smokey Eye Magnet Primer ($18).
  • It’s time to JAM! — Pop Beauty Petal Jam ($14).
  • Cheetah print makeup bags ($14-24): cute or cheesy?
  • I wonder how well Laura Mercier’s Under Eye Perfector ($22) hides INTENSE dark circles.
  • Hmm… Must try Shu Uemura’s new makeup primer: UV Under Base Fluid SPF 20 ($35).
  • The Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection – N line looks promising…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m not loving the whole Chanel tattoo thing. I think you either have a real tattoo or don’t bother faking it.

It seems like they are trying too hard to make tattoos “mainstream”, and they are losing their meaning!

I’m terribly afraid of needles so I don’t mind the concept…

That’s rad, girl! I don’t have the guts to get a tattoo. I’m a ‘fraidy cat and terribly fickle. The thought of staring at the same thing for the rest of my life kinda makes me nervous!

HA you should have a big one on your stomach like Tupac saying, “TAB LIFE” hahahaha yeah I know I’m a fool! I’ll get one too and it’ll say “NARS 4-EVA”

I like the design of the bird a lot, but why pay $75 for a temp tatoo when you can get a real one?

I like the bird a lot, too. If I ever worked up the courage to get one I’d want something along the same lines, but without the Chanel branding (I love Coco, but not enough to have it on my bod permanently) and in someplace less obvs.

I just got my first tattoo over the weekend. It’s the word “forever” in my mummy’s handwriting and it’s on my left wrist. It’s very small and no one has even noticed it yet! (Which is fine by me.) My mummy is in the end stages of cancer. I had been thinking about the tattoo for months, ever since she got her diagnosis, but one day I just felt like I had to do it! I am very happy with it.

About the Chanel tattoos, apparently you get “fifty-five exclusive, individual temporary tattoos, referencing iconic CHANEL symbols and codes” which makes them ~ $1.36 each. Which isn’t too bad if you enjoy that sort of thing.

I actually like the tatoos! They look really cool on the model, and since I don’t have the guts to ever get something permanent, this is a fun way to play around with the idea, and be able to wash it off!

I love them (well, I don’t really care about the interlocked Cs). Although I enjoy my real tattoos very much, I’d never be able to get one in that location so to have a pretty and temporary one would be great. $75 though? Absolutely not.

I remember seeing an article a while ago about the Chanel tattoos in London and being very mystified as to why someone would do this. I am very wary of the cost. You could buy a lot of Chanel lipstick with that money!

I had a feeling those unidentified doo-dads in the promo photos for this Chanel collection were going to turn out to be temporary tattoos. At least it’s not the world’s weirdest photoshopping!

USD75 for a temporary tattoo? Woah that’s a bit much, I reckon the money could be put to better use like, mmm, other beauty products? 🙂

HK rings? How cute is that! I’m liking the Chanel tattoo’s if they weren’t so expensive. The Ange o Demon perfume smells kinda odd. I tried it awhile back at Sephora. The absinthe is overpowering to me.

The makeup on the Chanel model is gorgeous and ethereal. I love the stained cheeks and lips. The design of the tattoos are beautiful, but I think I rather get a real one. If only I don’t get bored of things so easily. I just know that I would get bored of the tattoo in a few weeks or months.

I think the tattoos are gorgeous, but too expensive for that little package! speaking of beauty though, I just bought a voucher for Radical Tan from SocialBuy.com – it was super cheap… But I’ve never been there… any recommendations?

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
