Get Gorgeous Doughnut Lips with NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint

July 3rd, 2019 by Karen 7 Comments

nars oil infused lip tint
NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint ($26 each)

When your lips gleam like a glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut, you’re doing it right! 🍩

The new NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tints blaze bright neon in their tubes, but they look almost clear on lips. There’s just a wink of coy color, and thanks to the bevy of fruity moisturizing factors they contain, my dry lip flake situation is currently MIA.

The formula feels like a cross between a gloss and a balm, and these somehow manage to not glide around the outline of my lips, which, as a chronic lip-rubber, I appreciate.

One swipe across my lower lip, and another swipe across my upper lip, and then a quick smack-smack-smack, and my lips have that healthy, shiny sheen normally reserved for teenagers just getting outta bed.

I particularly like how sheer the brights are (the rose is a little too shy on my pigmented lips), and I think their delicateness makes them work well with a wider array of looks than a full-tilt, high-pigment gloss.

INGREDIENTS:
HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE · DIISOSTEARYL MALATE · BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER · ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE/STYRENE COPOLYMER · SILICA DIMETHYL SILYLATE · SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL · RUBUSIDAEUS (RASPBERRY) SEED OIL · PUNICA GRANATUM FLOWER EXTRACT · GLYCERIN · TOCOPHEROL · HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL · ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF EXTRACT · POLYETHYLENE · MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX/CERA MICROCRISTALLINA/CIRE MICROCRISTALLINE · POLYGLYCERYL-10 PENTAOLEATE · BUTYLENE/ETHYLENE/STYRENE COPOLYMER · FLAVOR (AROMA) · SILICA · GLYCERYL DIISOSTEARATE · TRIISOSTEARIN · TRIMETHYLOLPROPANE TRIETHYLHEXANOATE · TIN OXIDE · ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE · POLYSILICONE-2 · BHT · PHENOXYETHANOL · [+/- (MAY CONTAIN): MICA · TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891) · IRON OXIDES (CI 77491) · RED 27 (CI 45410) · RED 33 (CI 17200) · RED 28 (CI 45410) · CARMINE (CI 75470)]

They’re $26 each, limited edition, and you can find ’em at Sephora.

What’s bumping in my headphones at the moment?

Sometimes when I get home from the gym I like to sit in my car in the garage for a few minutes and listen to music, because, I dunno…I’m alone, nobody’s asking me any questions, and I can just chair dance in complete and total privacy simmer with my thoughts.

Last night, I was listening to a local hip-hop station (106.1 KMEL, which I’ve been listening to since I was in middle school, OMG!) when this song started playing.

I had a moment, man! For approximately four minutes, my Mazda temporarily transformed into Club Karen, complete with booty shaking and arm waving — the whole kit and caboodle.

Of course, this song played in the middle of a mix, so I had to reverse engineer it to find the artist (Ari Lennox). I found her by Googling a phrase from the song: “break me off gitchy gitchy ya ya.”

Seriously, the Internets are amazing!

Also, this Erykah Badu song, Bag Lady…UGH. CHANGE YOUR LIFE. How did I miss this? Apparently, it’s 10 years old.

Anyway, don’t listen to it unless you’re ready to examine your life with a microscope and leave behind whatever crap you need to free yourself from.

Whatever’s in those bags, lady, ya gotta let it go, because if you don’t you’re gonna miss your bus!

I accidentally stumbled on the next artist — H.E.R. (which stands for Having Everything Revealed) — when I found an acoustic piano performance she did for her mom, which turned me into a crying mess…

So mysterious! She’s known for hiding her face to a degree. She wears large dark sunglasses when she performs, and whenever you see her on camera, you never see a full picture of her visage.

Girl’s got some serious pipes.

OK, so about that acoustic piano performance by H.E.R. that made be blubber like a baby? It’s a cover of this song by artist Donny Hathaway…

But wait, there’s more. 🙂 Donny Hatahaway’s version is also a cover, as the song was first recorded by Leon Russell.

I know, so many layers!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

“I’m alone, nobody’s asking me any questions”… That cracked me up. Take advantage of every minute you can, because This. Never. Stops. I’ve been answering questions for 22 years now. And the questions Just. Get. Harder. (I know, so encouraging, lol.)

Seriously though, while you’re enjoying every moment of her childhood, don’t lose yourself. Make sure you take time to just be Karen, not Mom. Thing 2 will be a teenager in a couple of weeks, one with a very busy social life. I’m suddenly feeling a bit lost, like I’m mostly an Uber/ATM now. So that’s my piece of unsolicited advice for the day: don’t let yourself become an Uber. 😉

I’m already her chauffeur, and she’s only three! HA HA HA! Thank you for the reminder. I know it’s really important to keep learning and growing as an individual outside my role of being her mom. I needed to hear that!

What did you guys do for the holiday? We just got back from the beach, and now we’re relaxing at home.

Such excitement. We went to Urgent Care, because I thought I had a sinus infection. (I don’t, but I will if I don’t ward it off. Neti-Pot, here I come.) Then we did a couple of errands and came home. We live large here in the F-L-A.

I’ll spend the evening watching Inspector Lewis (one of my favorites) and comforting my terrified dog, who will hear the fireworks and think we’re all going to die a horrible death. Poor puppy girl; we live close to where they do the fireworks display and since so many trees fell in the storm, I think they’re going to be super loud this year.

I love “A Song For You” The Carpenters had a big hit with this song in the late 70’s, and Michael Buble also recorded it. They are both great versions ( although I am partial to The Carpenters version, cause I was a huge fan when I was a kid). You should check both versions out. I bet you would like them.

I really want to try one of the Oil lip tints! They seem great and right now I love shiny lips without the sticky feeling!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
