Nails of the Day: Essie Brides No Grooms

May 14th, 2015 by Karen 28 Comments

Essie Brides No Grooms ($8.50)

To say that I’m obsessed with this Bkr Water Bottle I got last month would be a bit of an understatement.

I carry this thing with me everywhere. It may as well be surgically attached to my right arm! I bring it (oh, it’s already been brought-en!) to the mall, to Trader Joe’s, to the movies… Basically, I am never without my Bkr.

What can I say? Homegirl drinks a sh*t ton of water. 🙂

I’m loving on it so hard that I’ve undertaken a mission to find a matching nail polish, and I thought that this shade I’m wearing here, Essie Brides No Grooms, might be it, but it’s not. Close, but no cigar.

It’s warmer and more yellow… Still super pretty, though, but I think I need something closer to a creamy pink flamingo coral.

Here I’m wearing two coats.

Brides No Grooms is from the Essie Bridal 2015 collection, and you can say “I do” to it now, because it’s available now for $8.50 online, and at salons, Ulta and Nordstrom.

It is a really pretty shade, might not be an ideal match for the bottle but I like how nicely it contrasts. Sephora X Formula has a flamingo pink/coral shade from the Summer collection, I think it might be worth checking out! It’s called Splendid http://www.sephora.com/the-cut-summer-2015-P394801?skuId=1680974.

      Hi Agata,

OH, how pretty! Looks like I’m going to have to stop by Ulta after my Target run today (darn).

Who doesn’t love to match their nail color to their water bottle? Just kidding, but I do love when unplanned matches happen. That water bottle looks fabulous, as well, and I could see the nail color flatter a lot of skin tones.

What jeans are you wearing in this picture? I’m on the hunt for new jeans. Well, jeans and some new workout clothes.

      Hi Stephanie,

I’m wearing jeans from LOFT! I absolutely love them. You can see them here in more detail:

You’re welcome. 🙂 I love LOFT too. I just discovered the store and am full-on obsessed. Have you been shopping there for a while?

I have been shopping at LOFT for years. I was living in Novato when they first opened in Viintage Oaks. Back then I had to dress for work and I always got all my skirts there. I think I might still have a couple way in the back of my closet. I recently parted with two short sleeve LOFT button down shirts that I have had for about 8 years I um, out grew them…haha. Seriously though I loved them but there is no way I was going to get into them again. I bought them when I was doing triathlons and I don’t have the energy to workout like that anymore.

I love the look of the nail polish but I’m not sure if I would wear it if I was a bride, I like my neutral baby pink, gray or beige shades. Brides No Grooms looks a fun shade to wear on a night out and pair it with a hot pink lip 🙂

I think it’s more of a bridal shower shade, hence the name, Brides No Grooms. It would be fun for that kind of party, don’t you think?

Yikes, look at the size of that water bottle! You’re reminding me to go and drink some water. Such a pretty shade for a water bottle and for nail polish. But I have essie Kumquat on my list 😉

It is crazy ridiculous big, I know! But I always end up drinking water from it. Dehydrated I’m not, LOL!

I hope that you’re having a nice day so far. What are you currently wearing on your nails?

I think one of besties, who I visited with on my vacay, has the smaller version of this water bottle. Of course, your’s truly, sipping on her Coke, is still trying to like water again. I bought a new (and super cute) water bottle while I was on vacay. I score points every time I actually remember to use it & drink water. Tehehehehe…..;)

The smaller ones are SUPER cute. And they fit in a cup holder. I’m thinking of getting one because this one’s kind of big, but I know that I’ll end up needing more water. I drink a TON of it.

Coke is one of my favorite treats! Have you ever had the kind in a bottle? I swear it tastes so much better than the canned Coke.

Yep, yep. I’m from the South & lived in Atlanta for a time, where coke is the official/unofficial drink of the south- second only to sweet tea. And you’re right, nothing tastes better than a glass bottle of coke. You should visit The World of Coke whenever you’re in GA again. It’s pretty sweet. See what I did there?! Ok, no more puns….lol!

I have a camelback water bottle. Works great and I save by not buying tons of plastic water bottles!

I just bought some Maple Water from Trader Joe’s. You should try it! It has a slight hint of maple. Kind of interesting. And I stocked up on more of that black pepper cheese!

      Hi Elena,

I got a sample of it last weekend. It was really good but I didn’t end up getting a bottle. Next time!

Are you a pizza or a pesto person? If you are, I found a yummy pizza that you might like: Pesto With Tomatoes and Broccoli. OHMYGOSH. So good!

Oh that pizza looks good! I love pizza and I loveeee pesto. Like if I want a quick fix for dinner I just toss some pesto with some angel hair pasta and voila! Dinner!

Keep the TJ’S recommendations coming! I have found some good stuff thanks to you! Lol

Do you polish your own nails? Your manicures always look super neat. I absolutely have to go to the salon or my nails will look a little rough around the edges. Literally lol

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
