Last Seen On Safari: The New China Glaze On Safari Collection for Fall 2012

…shall we answer the Call of the Wild today?

I’m ready if you are. The new 12-piece China Glaze collection for fall 2012 has to be out there somewhere, probably holed up in a salon, a Sally Beauty store or online at sallybeauty.com, and there’s only one way we’ll find it: On Safari.

We have our map, beauty supplies, and a description of the beasts, which according to our guide, come in a variety creamy, glittery plum and earth-tone shades ($7 each).

If we take the jeep, we’ll cover more ground than walking, but we also risk alerting the creatures we’re trying to catch. If we walk the trail instead, tracking will be easier, but we run the risk of chipping our meticulously manicured nails.

Either way, I’m Adventure Red-y for whatever Exotic Encounters await.

I’m Not Lion when I say that I had my doubts about the wisdom of embarking upon this adventure so soon after our big Man Hunt…

…but then you did your funny Elephant Walk at the restaurant the other night, and I remembered how much I enjoy walking on the wild side with you. 🙂

If we make it out of this in one piece, I swear I’m giving my boss a big Kalahari Kiss for giving me the time off.

Well, we better hit the trail before that Desert Sun gets much hotter.

What’s that, you say? You want to get your nails done first? Haha! I Herd That! Me, too.

I’m always down for a mani/pedi. Just gotta find the Purrf-ect Plum to go with my beauty survival gear. 🙂

Omg, Karen, you’re adorable! I love the way you showcased these using all the polish names in a little story.

Btw, I found a set of porcelain kitty measuring cups in an antique/curio shop and thought of you instantly. Their little tails were the handles!

Hehe, yeah, that’s what sets Karen apart from a lot of other bloggers. Her personality and sense of humour really shines through.

I also really enjoyed the story using the polish names. 🙂

I kind of like Desert Sun. Orange has been my color this summer. I already bought Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti.

Not really a fan of any of these. The only one I may consider is Elephant Walk. The others are a bit too dark for me.

Karen, I love how you always make your posts creative and full of personality, rather than just doing the usual “swatch, name of product, swatch, name of product…”. I feel like even though the colors in this collection might not be the most unique, there are still some really nice ones in there. I’m thinking of maybe getting one of the sets of minis- probably the one with the cooler-toned shades.

The purple, Jungle Queen is so gorgeous! Elephant Walk looks similar to Lady Muck by Butter London. I hope I can find these in Canada. Thanks for this post Karen.

Man Hunt and Desert Sun are my favorites. I like my nail polish bright and cheerful. So the deeper, darker colors aren’t doing it for me. But maybe that will change after summer 🙂
P.S.: Doing fuchsia pink & orange nail art as we speak!

There are some interesting colors in this collection! I don’t own any grays yet, but Elephant Walk looks like something I might be able to pull off!

All the shades are perfect! I’m loving the Plum shade and also the red, it reminds me of fishnet stockings from Essie.

I don’t know which colour I like the most. As I was reading through the article I fell in love with one after the other, I guess I’ll have to buy them all :). I think Kalahari Kiss, Desert Sun and I Herd That stand out the most for me though.

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
