Darn this weird skin allergy! I’d planned to take pics for another easy eye makeup tutorial this afternoon (cat eyes!), but then I broke out in hives all over my left eyelid.
Weird.
They’ve since gone away, but I wasn’t taking any chances on eye makeup today. I decided to get my daily beauty fix the mani/pedi way.
The jewel-toned polishes in Zoya’s new 15-piece fall 2012 collection, available now online at artofbeauty.com, are spread out among three sub-collections — shimmery Diva, creamy Designer and sheer Gloss.
Separately, the bottles, which are all full size, sell for $8 each, or $48 as part of the two six-piece Diva and Designer sets. The three-piece Gloss set sells for $24.
Bummer that you don’t get a little discount for buying the sets…
In each of these pics, I’m wearing two coats.
The Designer collection
From the left: Zoya Designer collection shades in Evvie, Noot and Natty
From the left: Zoya Designer collection shades in Raven, Toni and Monica
The Diva collection
Zoya Diva collection shades in Suri, Daul and Feifei
Zoya Diva collection shades in Elisa, Song and Ray
The Gloss collection
Zoya Gloss collection shades in Paloma, Frida and Katherine
I expected to fall hardest for the flashy glitters and shimmers in the Diva kit, but because of the formulas here, I actually prefer the creamy shades in the Designer collection.
These creams = perfection! They’re super pigmented, quick-drying and smooth, and I’m sure I could’ve gotten away with wearing one coat of each.
Don’t get me wrong — I dig some of the Divas, too, like glittery Feifei and Daul.
Deep purple Feifei, with its fine golden glitter, reminds me of something Prince would wear on his toes (or use to paint his El Camino!), while rich teal Daul, with its navy and golden flecks, makes me think of a mermaid’s tail glittering in the sun beneath the water’s surface.
Both have fine flecks of totally grown-up glitter worthy of a black-tie affair.
As for Gloss, the third sub-collection, hmm… Interesting, I guess, is what I’d say. The three polishes in the set have jelly finishes, which means they’re semi-sheer and glossy. I like them, but I find the formula a tad streaky.
The 15 colors in the overall collection feel very on trend for fall, and I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of them. The creamy colors in the jewel-toned Designer set, though, are really speaking to me!
PRICE: $8 individually, or $48 for the six-piece Designer and Diva sets, and $24 for the three-piece Gloss set

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. Woo-hoo! Time to cross Monday off the list. 🙂
What are you up to tonight? No big plans for me, other than catching up on True Blood, which is actually a very high priority for me, LOL!
Those shimmer ones are crazy pretty!!! And I love those Gloss ones too–though they may be a touch too sheer…

Hey Karen! I’m loving the Diva collection especially Natty and Toni! I’ve never tried Zoya before. Any thoughts on how they generally compare to O.P.I and Essie?
I’ve been excited for this collection ! I love Nook and Monica. It helps that Autumn ( Fall ) is my favorite season as well.
Hi Tabs ! â¤
Those creams look great I agree!
I’m watching The Almighty Johnsons tonite-you need to watch it! It’s like Gaiman’s American Gods!

oooo, im definitely feeling natty!
tonight, I’m praying that my iphone will magically turn back on. It crashed and died earlier, and I’m really hoping I didn’t lose the 3,000+ photos I stupidly didn’t back up …booo
LOVING Monica & Daul! The latter would look amazing layered on top of the former, don’t you think? I can imagine it now… 🙂
The Diva collection is gorgeous, especially Feifei.

The Diva collection is a bit too glittery for my taste, but I love all colors in the Designer collection. And the Gloss collection is pretty too.

I love Raven, Paloma, and Frida! Those colors are gorgeous. I’m not into shimmer polishes too much, but the rest are pretty too.

These colors are HOT! I don’t know what to think of the Gloss Collection, but I imagine all the rest would be great shades for fall!
I did nothing last night — Mondays always wear me out at work so I just needed to veg out!
I want the Classic Collection – all of them. And maybe the Designer collection! So pretty!
I agree that the designers look really spectacular. What a great finish! I think the glosses would work best with pale, pastel neutral colors. Like “your natural nails but better”. 🙂
Lots going on in the TB universe. Everybody’s looking for answers. 🙂
The Designer ones are my favourites. I love the colours for Fall and they look so smooth and creamy!

I must have that Natty shade. It reminds me of blue jeans. A dark shade that is totally wearable for work. (I got some weird looks when I work black nail polish to the office.)
Plans tonight are to pack and get some sleep. I’m flying off to Hawaii! =D I’m hoping to grab some ‘local’ beauty goodies for souvenirs. What’s the point of buying stuff if you can’t use it or enjoy it?
The Designer collection looks unbearably chic from here — what gorgeous cremes! You make the formula sound great, too 😉 Tempting!
