Milk Makeup Eye Pigment Cream Eyeshadow Dries With a Quickness!

The darker shade is called Silent Disco and the lighter one is called Peep Show. Both are Milk Makeup Eye Pigments with the BEST NAMES EVER!

One might conclude that I’m smiling in this pic because…hello, pigment! Hello, glitter! Hello, shine!

So many fun things, right?

But I’m actually smiling here because when I snapped this pic, I was about to remove this eye makeup. Because, gosh…this Eye Pigment from Milk Makeup, which is available in 11 $24 shades in the permanent line, was so hard to work with!

What a bummer, because I thought it looked super cool when I swatched it.

The Eye Pigments are shimmery, concentrated cream eyeshadows that come in a tube, and when you squeeze a little on the back of your hand, then start working them around with a finger or a brush, they dry like BAM! Like, instantly. I’m serious. They’re dry in less than 10 seconds, so you have to move REALLY fast.

Now, I can put on my makeup fairly quickly most of the time, but these are ridiculous! I can’t work that fast. It’s almost impossible for me to blend the edges before they set.

You can see in the top pic that my shadow goes up higher on one lid than it does on the other, because I was trying to do both eyes at the same time…which was a bad idea in hindsight. The shadow dried too fast!

When your lids are a mess but you’re still trying to be sassy…

But wait, there’s more! I also tried layering the pigments with each other, but the creams looked heavy and bumpy and thick on my lids.

Aaand, then I tried layering powder shadows on top of them, and oh, boy, was that a mess. Really, I couldn’t get anything to blend on top of them at all.

Needless to say, these aren’t my favorite products in the Milk Makeup line… If you’re going to get anything eye makeup-related from Milk, and I think you should, because I still think it’s a great brand, I’d go for the beige Eye Vinyl in Bridge instead.

Shiny! That’s the shade called Bridge on my lids.

Bridge is way easier to use than this, and that glossy finish is very in right now.

Karen

Shame these didn’t work, they’re such beautiful shade and gorgeous for a smokey eye like the one you created. Mac have an eye gloss too- can’t remember the name- but was orange in tone. They gave me a sample, I loved wearing it this summer!

I actually love these, but you have to use them on their own, not with a full eyeshadow look. They’re not really meant to be used that way. I use them for some bolder mod ’60s eye looks or as a liner. They work great that way. I love the green, blue, and purple for this.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
