1-Minute Makeup Morsel: If Hot Weather Is Melting Your Concealer Mojo, Add NARS Pro Prime to Your Under-Eye Routine

July 1st, 2015 by Karen 13 Comments

nars pro prime

I’ve been adding NARS Pro Prime to my under-eye routine before I apply concealer (I also whack it into my brows before brow products), in addition to using it to prime my lids, because it’s been so. Damn. Hot.

Plus, we don’t have AC in our condo, so sometimes when it’s REALLY hot, and I’m literally dripping in sweat, my makeup melts off my face.

So I tried it one day — Pro Prime under my concealer — and it made a big difference. My concealer definitely lasts longer with NARS Pro Prime’s help.

So just an FYI. Give it a try sometime if it’s hella hot where you are. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. It’s actually been a bit cooler here this week. Today we only hit 82! Huzzah!

I hadn’t heard about this but it seems like a great product. The weather doesn’t do much for our makeup so this might be something to opt for. Thank you for enlightening me!

    Best wishes,
    Vanessa

I don’t have that one but I’ve been using a primer from Milani on my lids, brows (sometimes) and under my eye area before applying my concealer. Works like a charm. Supposedly it’s a really good dupe for the UDPP. I dunno. Haven’t used the urban decay primer in so long. But the one from Milani def gets the job done. Stay cool, dear. The AC tech came to fix our system today bc a part that was needed for the AC finally came in. Once he went to fix the system he realized another part was also broken. And, as luck would have it, that part has to be ordered, too. We’re approaching week 3 without the AC working. Finally had to buy TWO portable AC’s to keep the house cool in this east coast heat. They’re pricier than the traditional units that hang in the window but they work great. Totally worth every penny. Look into it if you feel like you AND your makeup are gonna melt =)

Oh my gosh! Where you live is pretty humid too, right? I can’t even imagine! I would be constantly sticking my head in the freezer. LOL!

YES! We’re nowhere near the equator but I think we must be neighbors to hell. We have to be. No other way to explain it. Sheesh! The “spell” i.e. menopause hasn’t hit yet. But I’ll be moving to the nearest freezer when it does. Or Alaska

Girl! No AC?! That’s crazy talk. But I live in South Texas, so I can’t imagine life without AC everywhere!

I don’t use undereye concealer anymore so I wouldn’t really have a use for this. I used to use a similar product from Smashbox though.

You know I love this product with the heat of 1,000 suns! I don’t wear under eye concealer but I do use it under my eyes to keep the liner on my lower lash lines from traveling. Which it does, perfectly, all day long. Totally Team NARS Pro Prime. 🙂

HAHA! Why do you crack me up so much?!

Good idea to use it on the lower lash lines. Gonna do that today!

Everyone is complaining about the heat wave, but up here near the arctic circe where we spend our vacation, things are pretty much freezing. We still have snow!

Everyone swears by this stuff. It’s about time I try it finally lol. I loved (and finished) the Instant Line & Pore Perfector so I have a feeling I’ll like this too

The tan for sure! I don’t know if I’ve ever read what size shoe you are, but it must be a smaller size, which makes you LUCKY! They order more of the size 8’s than any other shoe size (usually), & my ass got stuck with big ole size 10 feets, so I always expect them to tell me they don’t have anymore (fingers crossed anyway). Journey’s is muh fav shoe store for that reason cuz they actually keep a good stock of 10’s.
& I’m soooo curious about putting primer on my brows… I’ve been swiping a tiny, tiny, minuscule amount of MUFE’s Smoothing Step 1 primer through my brows & onto the skin underneath, but there’s a small part of me that wonders if it’s really all good good & not going to like make muh eyebrow hairs fall out or some shizzz…

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
