Hi, ladies. 🙂 Question for you: Are there any MAC Trips in your future? Is an airport in your plans? If you have any trips lined up over the next few months, keep your eyes peeled for MAC’s latest Trip travel exclusives for spring/summer 2010.
WHAT’S A TRAVEL EXCLUSIVE?

Prices on travel exclusive collections can vary by location, but the MAC Trip ones I’ve come across before have been priced in line with products at regular MAC stores and counters.
Have you ever tried a MAC Trip or other travel exclusive product before? They seem to fly (ha!) under a lot of radars. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Hmm….I am going to India soon and this will be something to keep my from not getting bored on the (about) 20 hour flight!!
Wow, that is a looong flight. Are you heading there for vacay or to visit family?
Love, Love Love these lip colors! I’m also crushing on the define and Blend brushes. Karen do you think the Define and Blend brushes would be a good set to try out MACs brush for the first time? I’m ashamed to say I own no MAC brushes……..
Hi Lisa, It really depends on what you’d like to spend. If you’re on a very strict budget, then yes, they’re a pretty good way to get familiar with MAC brushes. I’ve tried both the short handled and the long handled brushes, and in general I prefer the long handled ones because they seem to work better for me… I do know lots of women who have the travel brushes who are perfectly happy with ’em , though.
Maybe next time you’re at the counter and you see one of these kits hold the brushes in your hand. See if you like the weight and the length, and test the bristles against your skin. If you like how they feel then consider going for it!
i def. want to eyeliner trio if its cheaper than those three seperately!
It’s a good trio, methinks… totally covers all your bases.
I do have one of their E/S palettes that I found at Heathrow, score!
I love the polka dot bag the brushes come in. 🙂

YEAH! Those eye palettes last year were killer!
The brush sets always get me!

I am an accessories kinda girl so I get sucked in by the bags!!
Oh no it looks like you switched the pictures of the brush sets so theyre with the wrong descriptions! Nevertheless if they are the same quality as their regular edition counterparts I may want one, hmmmmm
Thanks for letting me know Shelly. 🙂 It’s fixed!
From my experience with the MAC SE brushes they are just okay… I think they’re good way to get familiar with MAC if you’re on a budget. I prefer the longer handled ones in general, though, as they seem to work better for me.
I would really like the mini brush set, it seems handy for travel.
I am coveting the bags, LOL! Especially the polka dot. 🙂
I tried looking at the Duty Free at SFO International last time I flew out via Virgin domestic in the International hub – they don’t carry MAC…so sad and the Sephora over there wasn’t opened (okay I just realized this was probably for the best on my wallet!)
LOL, there’s been a few times where I’ve longed for that Sephora to be open in the wee hours of the morning! 🙂
Nooo I’m probably not traveling any time soon but I totally want that brush set with the duo fiber brush! Would they be available anywhere else – maybe in pro or freestanding MAC stores?
These typically are only sold as travel exclusives, so probably not.
If you can wait ’till the summer Nordstrom usually has some MAC beauty exclusives that feature brush kits like these.
Is it possible to fall in love with the entire collection at one go?? It’s too gorgeous!

Yes, it is!! You are not alone, my friend. 😉
I like the Cremesheen lipsticks but I don’t own any of them myself. Maybe I will pick up trio. Luckily all these are permanent. However, are these only at Duty Free shops at certain airports?

GOSH i reaaaaaaaally want that polkadot bag!!!!!!!!!!
You and me both, homie! I got a thing for polka dots. 🙂
Anything polka-dot or rugby stripe and I melt. <3<3
Seriously, me too. Oh! I’m betting you’ll like these tweezers:

How on earth did you find out about this? You get my gold star in the beauty blog world for this post. It is nearly impossible to find out about Mac Trip without actually stumbling upon it at the airport.
Thanks Karen!!
I know somebody who knows somebody… that kinda thing.
If you end up running into MAC trip you better take some pictures!! 🙂
OK so I’m flying to Tokyo… in March… I wonder if I will find a MAC trip store. Is it a special store?
oooh I love the brush sets especially define and blend!!!

It depends on the airport. Check the stores where you see beauty products, like perfumes and whatnot. 🙂
Thanks so much for posting about this! I never realized MAC did this, but I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled the next time I hit the airport…which is, like, never. I have a horrible fear of flying!
.-= Kristen’s last blog post… Love is in the Air with….Estee Lauder Love Your Lips =-.
If you know somebody traveling you should ask them to check for you! I’ve done that before.
i’m having a hard time deciding which brush set I want more. They are equally wonderful. I really like the look of the 212 SE Flat Definer brush in the SHape and Perfect brushes. I’ve never used it before, it just looks appealing. What sort of things can you do with that type of brush?
Do you have any gel liners? That brush is fabulous for lining the lash line with a liner like MAC Fluidline!
oooh, I love my gel liners. Thats really good to know, I’ve decided to get that set then.

Will you be traveling soon? Hopefully you’ll be able to find it at the airport!
Yep I have a trip in March I’m taking for a week ….where at the airport can you find MAC stuff?

How exciting! Where are you going?
It’s kind of hit or miss, to tell you the truth. The only place I’ve seen MAC Trip in person wasn’t even at an airport — it was at the DFS (Duty Free Shopping) Galleria in Waikiki, Oahu.
I’ve heard that they’re at Heathrow airport… are you going to the UK?!?
This is really a good news! Last year I’ve been traveling a lot, I even stayed in transit 12 h and I haven’t seen and MAC products in the duty free. It will be great to see them at least this year. When I do travel by plane I usually shop a lot cause products are much more cheaper there and I can also find interesting offers. 🙂
Me too! I especially like checking out the perfumes. 🙂
These are amazing! I’ll be going to London/Heathrow for a bunch of interviews in March … so MAC Trip, here I come. <3
(For the record, I've been in most airports around Europe, and aside from Heathrow, the only one I ever located a MAC counter in was Kastrup, the airport in Copenhagen. Just a lil' FYI. 🙂 )
How exciting! What are you interviewing for?
Oh, and thanks for the Copenhagen tip!
University placements … I’m planning on doing either a degree in biological psychology or English literature at University College of London, but I’m so nervous for the upcoming interviews. *_* It is exciting though, so thanks! 😀 Hopefully all goes well.
I was in London/Heathrow last July and hoped to get one of those MAC Trip II e/s palettes. Unfortunately they were all sold out, except for the cool one, so I did not get any. Later I managed to buy a neutral palette, and it’s so, SO great! Karen, do you know if there’s going to be any e/s palettes this year?
And thanks to Sophia for the Copenhagen tip. If I ever have to choose between via Copenhagen or via Stockholm, Copenhagen – here I come!
Glad to hear you like the neutral palette… I have the cool one and I looooove it. 🙂
I’m not sure if there will be e/s palettes this year. If there are any I’ll let you know!
For some reason the airport collections are always nice. Im liking that brush set because I like the case that comes with it.
I was able to coerce my sister into getting an airport collection palette for me – and ive gotten so much use for it…. Must travel!!!
Ha, me too! I like the polka dot bag.
Which palette did your sis get for you?
I will keep my eyes peeled for this!!! I am going to be traveling to Europe twice in the next 2 or so months, so I should have plenty of time to look for this collection. I love those bags that the brushes come in and I would like to get the Dazzleglass trio and the eyeliner trio!

Lucky!! Where are you going?
I love these Trip kits! Wish anyone could get them 😀

Heya Audrey! Happy Friday. 🙂
Great news! Oohh I’d love to get the Cremesheens and the Dazzleglass, they’d probably be bargain priced! I see a trip in my future, though I don’t know whether it’ll be now or in a couple of months. Yay!

I’ll admit it, I want the brushes. And I’ll admit something else: I don’t own ANY MAC brushes. Scandalous, right?
.-= Trisha’s last blog post… Makeup Review: Alba TerraTints Mineral Tinted Lip Balm =-.
I once bought a set of eyemakeup brushes on the airport. The 209 was nice, but I lost it somewhere. The 217 was extremely scratchy on the skin, the 252 was huge and very wide and also very scratchy, the 275 shed a lot and was exceptionally fluffy. the 212 I hardly use for anything.
Other than that, I love MAC 🙂

I am going for the MAC – Smile ; it is looking better than the Chris & Tell choral from Lancome,( I was not too impressed ladies:) , and the Black Russian,
Michele
Snowed in,
for the weekend
Is it crazy to plan a trip to the airport just for these? eep! x
Btw they have a MAC counter at the airport in Oslo called Gardermoen, if anyone is going there…
Glad I saw this…I’ll be at the airport in 3 days. I never knew MAC did this, I’m so excited now. Maybe this will fill the CCO void in my life for special finds.
Will this collection be available at the airport in Warsawa? 🙂 My mom is going there in a few weeks and hopefully she can get some of thees things in the collection for me 😀
