MAC Unsung Heroes: C-Thru Lipglass

May 1st, 2012 by Karen 14 Comments

Okay, so maybe C-Thru isn’t going to win a flashy dance-off with MAC’s louder Lipglasses, but ya know, for some reason, it always keeps me coming back for more.

Why? Because it just works. Whenever I want a little sparkle and shine, BAM! There’s C-Thru. Whenever I want a gloss to give my lips some warmth and shimmer, KAPOW! Hi, C-Thru.

A shimmery, sheer peachy beige/nude, C-Thru goes with just about everything, and I think it’s great for a toned down lip look.

It’s one of my favorite lippies to wear with smokey eyes, usually layered with nude liners like MAC Spice or Subculture. I can totally see Angeline Jolie busting this out every once in a while. It’s simple, neutral, and it goes with almost everything.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

C-Thru Lipglass is one of my all-time favorite MAC products. It always makes its way onto my shopping list. I also like pairing this with MAC’s Stripdown pencil. My ultimate, favorite nude lip!

This gloss looks AMAZING with the rest of your look. Love it!!! And again with the Dune…I am so needing this in my life right now. I just got Suede a few days ago and fully plan on returning ASAP for Dune

This is awesome on you! 🙂 And I agree, it is an Unsung Hero. I passed it by so many times and then discovered it one afternoon while I was browsing at the MAC store. LOVE!

I love this look on you – very sassy, yet still kind of neutral. If that makes sense. 🙂

I always pass this up at the store, because it looks so sheer and dupable. Boy, was I wrong!

I don’t know how you got it to look good on you. When I wear C-Thru or Underage, it looks like I put a layer of Elmer’s Glue on my lips 🙁

      Hi Ines,

Hmm, have you tried wearing it with a neutral lip liner? Something like Subculture might take away the Elmer’s Glue look.

I would love to check this out and try it with Subculture. Subculture is one of my all time favorite MAC lip liners. Great tip!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my three-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my kitty supermodel cat (Tabs).
