Lips Are Winning This Match Thanks to the MAC Beth Ditto Lip Pencils

Matching your shoes to your bag, your dress to your eyeshadow, your striped shirt to your striped fat-@ss tabby… Sometimes, it’s just fun to match!

Take the four MAC Beth Ditto Lip Pencils ($14), for instance. I get a kick out of wearing ’em with their coordinating Pro Longwear Lipcremes from the collection.

I think In Synch (a bright yellow pink) goes great with You’re Perfect Already, Entertain Me (an orange) pairs perfectly with BOOYAH!!, Embrace Me (a vivid pinkish fuchsia) looks darling with Dear Diary, and Nightmoth (a blackened plum) says holla! with Heart Hangover.

Okay, but why bother with lip liner? Well, I like to wear matching lip liners when I need a little help keeping a brighter color from going beyond my natural lip line and/or to increase the wear time of lipsticks and glosses. Plus, sometimes I actually like taking the little extra makeup steps, ya know?

For the Lipcremes in the MAC Beth Ditto collection, having a matching Lip Liner is like a sundae with an extra cherry on top. 🙂

Pro Longwear Lipcreme in You’re Perfect Already, Lip Liner in In Synch, Prolongwear Lipcreme in BOOYAH!! , Lip Liner in Entertain Me, Prolongwear Lipcreme in Dear Diary, Lip Liner in Embrace Me, Prolongwear Lipcreme in Heart Hangover and Lip Liner in Nightmoth

I’ve worn the Beth Ditto Lipcremes both with and without their matching Lip Pencils, and I like the way they look both ways. Fortunately, they never really stray too far outside of my natural lip line, a testament to their awesome staying power.

But I think if you’re in the mood for it, having one of their coordinating Lip Liners around can be kinda fun. And handy, if you tend to stockpile similar shades.

Like, if you have a lot of really bright pinks similar to Bith Ditto’s Dear Dairy, like maybe Girl About Town or Quick Sizzle, then also having Embrace Me on hand makes a lot of sense, because you could also pair it with your other pinks. 🙂

PRICE: $14 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at maccosmetics.com, and coming to North American MAC counters and stores June 7; internationally, later this month

I want to give all a try. Embrace me hits me the most, I wonder if it fits for dark undertone?

I’ve seriously been considering getting BOOYAH!–even though I usually don’t wear such bright, opaque lipsticks, it looks so pretty and fun! Now, seeing it with the Entertain Me pencil, I think I’m going to go for it. They’ so pretty next to each other, I can only imagine how amazing it will look on the lips!

Lately ive been doing a lipliner wash of color and clear gloss — so one or two of these would totally work for me!

Night Moth and Embrace me would make such an awesome ombre lip combo!

God, I LOVE these shades. I don’t tend to wear a lot of lipliner (super dry lips and a very narrow mouth means it tends to look too harsh on me), but it’s always nice when companies take the guesswork out of it – picking the right shade can be so hard!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
