Lip Look: MAC Fafi Strawbaby

February 24th, 2008 by Karen 25 Comments

Today’s Lip Look: MAC Fafi Strawbaby lipstick ($14) with Squeeze It lipgloss ($14). I rocked this fruit-inspired look while I sat at the computer working on a writing assignment today.

mac-fafi-lip-look-022408-1.jpgmac-straw-baby-squeeze-it-swatch.jpg

These juicy lips accompanied a stylish outfit of blue pajama bottoms and a red fleece pullover, both from the esteemed fashion house of Old Navy. The hair was kept unbrushed and then swept up into a ratty ponytail to complete the un-showered, filthy freelance writer look.

Am I ready to work the red carpet? Um, no — not unless un-showered is the new clean. But I finished the first part of my assignment, hooray! I plan to share details of the project with you as soon as I can.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Ee I have these two items and they are so awesome!
I think you also should try the Flash N Dash lipstick with the Sugar Trance lipglass. It’s also gorgeous!

Oh no another 2 items for my ever lengthening fafi list!

pjs and scruffy hair are compulsary sunday afternoon uniform for me thats my work day haha so dont worry you were not alone! Im sure your assignment was more exciting than mine though, I spent my sunday writing about implied terms in contract theory zzzzz! I did kill the boredom for a while though by playing with my bleu celestes quad, i felt sorry for it as it hadn’t been used in a while!

Nice colors! I keep on looking at the cat in your banner with the ear muffler. Wouldn’t it wonderful if there were a pink cat in real life?

Kudos to you for working on a Sunday! That kind of self-discipline absolutely justifies lounging around in uber-comfy clothes! I bet it looked runway-worthy with that lippie action going! 😉

    Hi Holly,

Yesterday I was thinking of my Blue Celestes Quad too! I got a navy blue eye pencil from MAC and am thinking that sometime this week I’ll wear a navy smokey eye to work. If it turns out decently I’ll even do a tutorial (keeping fingers crossed.)

What looks do you like to do with yours?

    Hi Dao,

I’d love a pink cat…but only if it was nice to me, ha! I guess when I finally get one I’ll have to settle with putting a pink wig on it (if it’ll let me!).

    Hi Karen,

I have done a few different looks with that quad i really love how the navy blue works if you add water to it as an eye liner applied with the mac 209 brush but also if im rushing and need to do a quick eye i just use the very light pinky white shadow and either of the two lighter blues in the corner and the crease just with a thin line of black liquid eyeliner. it works really nicely for a casual daytime look especially as ive been wearing a lot of Nautical trends at the moment which really work well with blues!

I am going to start wearing the quad more for work actually as we have finaly got it back in stock and wearing the colours usually helps me to sell more!

I find it quite difficult to decide what lip colour to wear with that quad though because i tend to go for pink tones more and they just dont work with the blue! I think i need to find a good neutral, ive had my eye on the mac N3 actually, have you tried it??

Karen, I would love to try the Fafi collection out too. Unfortunately, they don’t sell it over here as do most of the other previous collections.

I am resorting to reading blogs religiously to admire….

    Hi Ponikuta,

You know, I do the same thing with clothes when I read fashion/accessories blogs. I like clothes but don’t really have to dress up for work so I resort to vicariously living through the style bloggers. 🙂 And sometimes it’s much more fun to window shop!

Anyway, I hope you are having a great day!

I love all those colors. And Cult Fave is totally worth getting a back up!!!! Have you worn them yet?

And I agree, it’s hard to narrow down when you have so many great collections and colors to choose from. 🙂

The lipglasses on their own are great for every day.

Fun ‘n’ Sexy with Cult Fave is lovely for going shopping with the girls 😉

And Fun ‘n’ Sexy with Totally It is THE look for party time!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
