Abracadabra, presto chango, bippity-boppity-boo!
Ask any good (or bad) wizard, and they’ll say the same thing: “Some words are just more magical than others.”
And when you string some words together, they form phrases even more magical than the sum of their parts, like “Korres Goddess Beauty Color Collection.”
Now that’s some serious magical energy right there… 🙂
The new limited edition $42 holiday set packs potent skin-, lip- and lash-transforming power. We’re talking power worthy of an ancient Greek (or modern) goddess. Just add toga, laurel wreath and shirtless Jeremy Renner.
LOL! But seriously, just apply one or more of the four pieces from the kit.
- One 0.34-ounce sample-size tube of Korres Quercetin & Oak Anti-Aging Primer, a silicone-free primer designed to smooth the appearance of wrinkles and extend the wear time of face products
- One full-size Korres Magic Light Contouring Trio in Santorini with blush, bronzer and highlighting powders for sculpting and adding dimension to the skin
- One full-size tube of sheer, non-sticky Cherry Lip Gloss in Pale Pink, a smooth gloss with a faint cherry flavor and scent
- One 0.12-ounce sample-sized tube of Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara in Obsidian Black, which Korres claims is able to increase lash volume by mythic proportions (600%!)
I’ve always liked Korres makeup for those “no-makeup” makeup looks because of their soft colors and textures, and this kit fits the profile — naturally flawless, casual and very undone, the perfect companion to a button-down plaid shirt and your favorite pair of broken-in jeans.
Or…pair it with smokey eyes like I did here, LOL!
I feel like these pieces keep the focus on your features, more than the products.
Like the recent Korres Lip Blockbuster, Volume II kit, Goddess Beauty represents a spectacular Korres value. The Contouring Trio and Cherry Lip Gloss alone would exceed the cost of the kit.
And with the kit, I think you get some pretty good products. The comfy Lip Gloss feels moisturizing, and I think it also looks natural on my lips. I also dig the soft glow I get from the Trio (even though I wish it contained more bronzer and blush, and less of the highlighter).
As for the rest of the kit…not bad. I like the primer for diffusing minor imperfections, but I think for heavy-duty, wrinkle-hiding coverage, I’ll need something more potent. And the mascara delivers a pretty natural look. I see plumper lashes and more definition after a couple coats, but I wouldn’t call my lashes 600% plumper (really, how do you even measure something like that?).
What Korres has here is a solid holiday kit for gals (and guys) who like their makeup looks subdued.

Okay, I cannot stop watching this video! I think I’m already on like my fortieth time…
Oh, heavens… If I could get Tabs to meow on cue, I’d have cat videos all up on this blog, LOL! 🙂
Happy Thursday, by the way. How’s your to-do list looking today? Hopefully not too scary?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Ohhhh Karen, you are beautiful as always! That dark navy eyeshadow suits you so well.

OMG that cat has so much musical talent!
The compact does look nice. I’d definitely take a look if it could be purchased separately!
Hi Sunny,
Yup, it’s available separately in two different compacts. 🙂
I think I’m most interested in the trio. Those are nice colors!

Hi Trisha,
I like them too. Have you tried any makeup from Korres? I like it a lot.
You look so beautiful in this picture and very natural looking makeup. I love it.
Hi Marla,
Thanks! Are you a Korres fan too?
OMG the Kitty! So cute!
I like the blush on you! My Thursday plans were a meeting I just had, some homework, and finance class tonight. fun :p
Hi Chelsea,
The kitteh is HILARIOUS! Wish I though of it, LOL!
Ahh…night classes. That’s one thing I don’t miss about school. Is your finance class interesting, at least?
I am dying at the video! 🙂
Hi Nina,
Okay, confess. How many times did you watch it in a row? My minimum is three or four, LOL!
4 yesterday. I am about to watch the vid again today!
This looks like such a nice set for the holidays…I definitely might want to get this as a little “introduction to Korres” for a friend.
I have the primer from a different set, but I haven’t used it yet. I think I’ll try it out now, though!
The only thing that would make this even better was if they included one of those great little lip butters in it. I just love those! 🙂

I love that cheek color–I do wish there was a sliver more bronzer and blush shade and less of the highlight, but it’s still GORGEOUS–especially mixed together! I’ve been meaning to check this out–it’s on my list!

How would you rate the primer as a shadow base, i.e. crease eraser, long-wear granter, etc?
