A fringed purse, as in a purse with fringe, as opposed to a purse living on the outskirts of society…
Get it? Fringe?
OK, that was pretty dumb, but you know you laughed! 🙂
So, I’m totally down with bags that have a little extra something-something, like an embellishment here or an accoutrement there, especially if they’re a more-is-more type of bag.
What I like about these bags I saw at Nordstrom the other day is how they move…where the fringe sways like a pony’s mane when you strut down the street. I kinda love that.
But when the fringe is REALLY long, like it is on these bags, I also think it helps to have some height on ya. When I walked around with them in the store, they almost hit the floor. I felt fringe overloaded, so none of ’em came home with me.
Aaaand is there anybody else out there who feels the urge to braid the fringe on these bags?? I really, REALLY wanted to for some reason.
How about you? Would you rock a fringed purse?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I would! I see some cute leather ones that are a bit smaller and also backpack style, online. However, when I point them out to my trendy daughters (ages 16 and 18), they turn their noses up !

I would have to say no to the fringe purse. The reason is that the bag would be torn apart by the cat. My cat loves string and anything that looks like string. She would attack that fringe bag like no other.

I am totally into the fringed stuff at the moment. And of course I laughed. You knew I would.

Nope. I’ve already been through the 60s and 70s once. I don’t feel the need to relive them. For the record I had a suede fringed jacket that I wore, but when I broke up with that boyfriend he took it back. Lol.
I can totally relate to wanting to braid the fringe. I always want to braid my horse’s mane, even though I don’t show her anymore.

In the 90s my aunt had a denim jacket with white leather fringe and I loved to braid it!
Lulle says
No, and most certainly not with super long fringe like those. Shorter, I could MAYBE consider if the purse is cute!
Gigi says
Of course! Saying this non-sarcastically, I would rock it with my dark wash, straight leg, studded jeans, a crop top that says ‘Twisted’ with Gumby on it, and a lace vest, with my fro ROCKIN’. And if I need a playlist, a little Zeppelin, a little Kravitz, a lot of Crown and the M.O.B.
Bring on the Boho.

Perhaps. I’m not really into fringed stuff, but if the bag were really cute, I may give it a go.

I love fringed bags with longer straps. I think they need to be like cross-body shoulder-bag length, more than handbags.

I have a red vegan leather purse covered in long fringe. I was looking forward to using it all summer, but my son stepped on it and pulled off some of the strands. I still need to find a good leather glue and see whether I can fix it.
Kwmechelle says
Yep, totally would. And I laughed at your pun, too. I’ve got long legs & anything in the boho-chic category ALWAYS screams at me 🙂
Stacey says
Yes I’ve been thinking that the next purse I get be one with fringe. I’ve never really had anything with fringe before so it would be a nice change.
Kiss & Make-up says
Mayhaps… I don’t hate it. But I don’t love it either.

I’d rock fringe on a classic Balenciaga but I’m not feeling those particular bags.

I love fringe! I just bought a small fringe crossbody from Laudi Vidni in Chicago. It was custom so I got to choose the leather it was made in.
I plan to wear it into Fall!
