Would You Bling Out Your Puppy’s Paws?

March 27th, 2009 by Karen 24 Comments

Add Color Paw Nail Appliques ($10 for a pack of four sticker sheets) to the list of strange beauty gear for pets.

When I came across these on Pet Sugar I thought the pic was clever Photoshoppery, but no, it’s for reals!

Sorry, cat lovers — the stickers aren’t approved for kitty claws.

Tabs just let out a BIG sigh of relief, LOL!

Are you and your pup down with pet nail appliques?

I personally wouldn’t, but that’s just because I think anything more than putting a sweater on a small pet outside of cool weather days is silly 😛 I had a sweater/hoodie for my beagle that had her name on it. It was the cutest thing but she only wore it during the winter because she was so little!

I have actually painted my dog’s nails before- however, I was 9 years old. Now? Not so much.

It depends on the dog… if I had a pomeranian, maybe. A german shepherd, not so much! 😉

My Maggie the Poodle would not be amused. I mean I know poodle’s are supposed to be all frou frou and crap, but she is a like a little tomboy poodle. As soon as she gets a bath, she finds a way to get dirty again.

My dog Ham would try to eat them…he’s not the brightest puppy and gets overwhelmed too easily lol

Tried to put a sweater on him…he walked around like he had braces on his legs. I try to keep his puppy life simple 🙂

I don’t have a dog but if I did I wouldn’t. I think it’s silly and a waste of time since it won’t stay on very long.
    Thanks for the laugh!

lmao oh geez thats cute:)but im sure u can put the
normal ones that are used for human nails if you wanted them.I personally wouldnt put them on my chihuahua paws beacause he dosnt go out that much anymore cuz hes sick.
But when I brough him everywhere i would have, haha cuz i want ppl to see to show off his puppy manicure.Oh yeah i painted or tryed to paint his nails before and he got all cranky and tipped the nail polish all over the floor YIKES!
So there was blue nail polish all over him & bathroom floor
so that means i will never try to do his nails again! lol oh geez and my dad has to clip them cuz he freaks out too.

Uh, no, I classify that under the “Things only Paris Hilton Would Do to Her Dog” section along with doggy tutus and carrying dogs everywhere. I don’t even paint Zena’s toenails as it’s both stupid and nail polish is toxic for dogs if ingested either by licking or eating. Zena likes to lick her paws so it’s a big no-no. Hence, decals are a big no-no.

Lol, those are cute, but I couldn’t be bothered to spend that much effort.
My cousin once painter her Boxer’s toenails bright pink. It looked cute and the dog didn’t mind, but again… I’ve got better things to do with my free time, like paint my own nails lol.

OMG Karen! This is like creepy funny ala Pat O’Brien’s voicemail’s lol! I don’t have a dog but I wouldn’t do this. My friends would paint their poodle’s nails purple but that’s because they had purple nails and wanted to match. He looked really cute with ’em too. Would be funny to see a big dog with nails like this though!

I am so not a fan of treating dogs like accessoiries!
No frilly little dresses, or these stupid shoes OR painted nails and nail stickers.
They are animals, they are not meant to complement their owners outfit, dammit!!

My dog Ludo (RIP) loved his nails painted. He was a 90+ pound guy and loved any grooming attention. Painted nail would last about a month on him, a lot longer if it was a glitter nail polish.

Oh no no…My dog has a reputation to live up to. It’s bad enough his name is “Tiger” – the #1 name for a cat… he definitely wouldn’t go for painting his nails purty. Although he just went to the groomer this week and looks incredibly handsome. He has a nice collar, but other than that… we don’t accessorize.

That just creeps me out in a big way! Besides I don’t think my big male dog would appreciate delicate flowers on his claws LOL!

Hmmm maybe if they did have cat ones Sammy would enjoy some with crowns and royal symbols on them since one of his nick names is King Samuel the First…I know, I know, I need to be committed. 😉

No, my dog is wicked smart, she’d find a way to exact revenge on me if I tried. I put a sweater on her ONCE and she wouldn’t acknowledge my presence for days (except when she wanted me to feed her). So, no. 🙂

Plus, who has that kind of time? lol Just take your pooch out for a walk or a day in the park, instead. Though, I can totally imagine a few of my friends’ dogs who would like that kind of attention. 😛

I think it would be an insult to my little guy… he looks like a dirty Ewok, and I love it. No need to dress up dogs people.

My toothless toy poodle, Poindexter, has a hard enough time with the concept of me taking the clippers near his paws whenever he gets his haircut. He isn’t as keen on the nail clippers either. My guess is he would gum me with all his furious puffball might were I to try to put these things on him.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
