When Makeup and Accessories Collide

September 7th, 2008 by Karen 30 Comments

Your favorite accessories designer calls you up on the phone one night and says, “Girl, I want to make you something special and unique. Tell me what your favorite 5 makeup products are, and I’ll design you a wallet, bag or case to carry them in.”

My fantasy Kate Spade Giza Travel Wallet Version 2.0 would contain…

  1. MAC Eye Shadow in Concrete
  2. Stila Perfecting Concealer in F
  3. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #2
  4. MAC Blushbaby Blush
  5. MAC Lipglass in Nymphette

If you could carry wallet-sized mini-versions of your 5 favorite makeup products, which products would they be?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hi Lindsay,

LOL! It’s a great mascara to be hooked on. 🙂

The Tweezerman is a good idea. My hairy self should’ve made that a priority, ha!

    Hi Christine,

Have you used MAC Prep + Prime mascara base? If so, how does it compare to Shiseidos?

    karen-
i honestly didnt like any MAC’s base bc it did nothing to hold the curl! it was very helpful in creating volume and length–but sadly, it did nothing for my asian lashes lol. i recommend the shiseido base!! it can work with any mascara it seems. 🙂

    Hi Christine,

Holding the curl is so vital, so I will have to break down and get this. I’ve been using Prep + Prime lash for the last few weeks and while I love it I have noticed that it tends to straighten out the curl. I will def. have to try the Shiseido one, so thanks! 🙂

Eek! I don’t know if I can commit to the same products every day! 😛
Well, in the moment here are my picks!

    1. Chanel Teint Innocence compact in 1.5
    2. MAC Shadowy Lady quad (does a quad count as one product? 🙂 )
    3. MAC lipglass in Jampacked (very flexible shade!)
    4. Chanel blush in Orchid Rose (my best super-subtle blush)
    5. A mini brush set or just a fan brush for the blush

BTW, luuuuuuv the Kate Spade wallet!

    Benefit’s Brow Zingz
    Benefit’s High Brow
    Benefit’s Benetint Pocketpal
    MAC’s Engraved Eyeliner

Dang, I didn’t realize that I was such a Benefit girl.

Oh, that is too bad! I set these lockdowns for myself too, and I find a (totally valid, of course) reason to break it every time, LOL! I´m probably beyond help.

    Hi Nell,

Ha, I feel ya pain. I want a whole bunch of Chanel stuff (the colored Exceptionnel mascaras, especially… plus they’ve got these really pretty blushes coming out)! And for some reason I’ve been really wanting to get a bottle of Allure. Do you have any of the fragrances? Now that’s my weakness!

I had Gilded when it first came out and I didn’t use it enough so I gave it away.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
