What’s Your Favorite Makeup Palette of All Time?

November 20th, 2009 by Karen 35 Comments

whats-your-favorite-makeup-palette-final

I’m a palette junkie (love having multiple choices in one place), so this was a toughie!

urban decay get baked paletteLet’s see… If I had to pick just one, it would probably be Urban Decay’s Get Baked. It always comes with me on vacations because I love the mix of easy-to-wear gold, brown and teal shimmers — particularly that bright pop of teal! 🙂

So tell me — what’s your all-time favorite palette?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

My fave is the MAC Smoking Eyes Quad. It has Next to Nothing, Satin Taupe, Showstopper and Smoking. It is the palette that I always take with me on holiday and is my go to palette when I can’t think of anything for a night out.

I don’t own a lot of palettes, so I would have to say from my recent purchases it would be MAC Photo Realism quad.

My absolute favourite is my Iridescent Leather palette for every day; but I think my absolute all the time fav is my Yaby Pearl Paints palette, which is probably cheating since it is 40 colours 😀

Oooooooh, that’s a toughie… I think I’m gonna have to go with Shu Uemura Fleur de Source for being an incredible neutrals palette with bright pops of blue, which I love. Super high quality and extremely travel friendly as well. Plus, the sponge tip applicator that comes with it is actually quite useful for touch-ups!

Not so much a palette, but just a tri. Du Wop’s ‘Crush’. The Gold, Bronze & Red is absolutely gorgeous. $24 dollars and it’s still going strong almost a year later. Such high pigments and the color stays forever. My favorite makeup purchase ever.

My sleek original palette. It’s the only one i have, pretty pigmented, gorgeous colors too. However am lemming the Yaby dramatically neutral palette it’s super pigmented and refills cost only $2. However, i want have to save $100 if i want to lay my paws on it!

I have to give this title to my old faithful Make Up For Ever Essential Eyes Palette! The colour #126 had been used up. Yup, there are only 2 colours left and I am planning to buy another #126 to fit in that hole soon as no other colour works as well as it!

I have too many……right now its a custom Shu Uemura blush palette. Or my MAC pro palettes quad with Patina, Carbon,Mulch and Charcoal Brown in one and Contrast,Parfait Amour, Shimmermoss, Electric Eel in the other. Perfect for holidays. I’m a sucker for over-packing.

Oh my gosh, what a difficult question! If I absolutely had to choose… Kat Von D’s True Romance Beethoven palette. There are enough colors for variations between wearable daytime looks and nighttime looks. UD’s Book of Shadows Vol. II is a close second!

Was at a MAC workshop last week, and was guided by the MA step-by-step using this palette….gorgeous colors!

I keep discovering new looks that I can do with my Elizabeth Arden eyeshadow palette with 12 shadows 🙂
Am roaming through my 2 coastal scents 88 palettes, and though the quality isn’t super, it’s good for discovering colours.
Am also very happy with my Too Faced candy bars.

Not sure which is my favorite but I amseriously addicted to Lorac palettes. As a confirmed junkie, Croc was definitely my gateway drug there lol. I also have a custom stila 8 Pan (older pans) and a old school Mary Kay 12 pan that I use nearly every day. Thanks for reminding me to start exploring through my palette drawer again!

I used to steer clear of palettes in the past, as they always had shades included that I would never use. That recently changed when I discovered KatVonD’s True Romance eye palette….All of the shades work for me, and I’m a SUCKER for purple, and BOY do these purples sparkle!

    Wow, that’s hard…

MAC – Tempting from Cult of Cherry would need to duke it out with Photo Realism for the title.
Cargo – Tahiti is my go to summer look.
Bobbi Brown – Forest Metallic, my go to winter look.
tarte – But how could I not mention We Wish You Wealth from ’07?

But if I had to pick a favorite, based on how many times I reach for it I’d have to say LORAC Snake Charmer.

Wow, that’s a lot of thinking for 9AM!

I love my Too Faced Natural Eyes palette! I can wear all the colors in the palette together, but they also play well with
all my other eyeshadows. Special shout-out goes to Heaven and Velvet Revolver from that palette. Runner-up would be the Tarte femme Fatale pallete.

I have to agree with the first poster. The MAC smoking eye’s quad. I love showstopper for a brow filler or eye liner and satin taupe, well this is such a great color or everyday and also for nighttime looks.

I’m going with the KatVonD True Romance palette. It has the prettiest sparkly purples i’ve seen that makes your eyes look happy. 🙂
For a simpler purple, i would say YSL 5 Color Harmony for Eyes in Lilac Sky. it’s only downfall… the price. (($56.!!))
