GIRL. Here’s one: I don’t know why I keep doing this, but I should probably stop putting on my makeup before I’ve had any coffee.
I say this because of the many times I’ve unintentionally applied mascara to my brows, and “many times” is an understatement. I’ve done it at least 10 times over the past few months, and it’s not like my Benefit Ready Set Brow Gel looks just like the NARS Audacious Mascara I keep in my makeup bag.
They don’t look anything alike! The Benefit tube is silver, and the NARS tube is black. Jeez, Karen!
It’s mostly just me not paying attention, but not having any caffeine in my system certainly doesn’t help.
FYI, if you do accidentally put mascara in your brows, grab a Q-tip. Because if you soak a Q-tip in some eye makeup remover, you can do some quick cleanup. Then just let your brow dry (haha), fill it back in again, and you’ll be on your merry way. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I just got a beauty blender and I keep forgetting to wet it before use! If you don’t wet it, it ends up soaking up all the foundation.
Karen says
The BeautyBlender is awesome! I’m so glad you got one. Do you have a cleanser for it? I use Dr. Bronner’s bar soap to clean mine.
Rachel says
Yes my beauty blender came as a little kit with a bar of soap they recommend. I love how it makes my foundation look! But I wonder if the drugstore beautyblenders are the same? I love a good deal!

LOL I do the opposite of this – sometimes when I’m really tired I try to use my brow gel wand as mascara 😀
What lipstick are you wearing in the photo, Karen? It looks lovely!
Karen says
Thanks PJ! It’s Urban Decay Studded. Not a color that I normally reach for, but I like how edgy it is!
Hmm… I’ve yet to use my brow gel as mascara, but I’m sure it’ll happen one of these days, ha!

I’m going to go with smudging the mascara on my bottom lashes while applying it. For a year I used to put an old business card under my bottom lashes and apply the mascara over the card, it worked perfectly. No smudges, all the excess product went onto the card. Then I ran out of them and never replaced them. I know there’s a gizmo for sale that does essentially the same thing, you hold it under or over your eye while applying mascara… but I just never get around to trying it!

Doing my eyes first, using a bright color and then remember that I was planning on finally wearing the new bright lipstick. That of course clashes with my eyes. Happens all the time.

That’s a funny one! Welcome to Mommy Brain (which never leaves, in case I haven’t said that 100 times). HAHA! I actually did something similar recently with face wash instead of lotion. I did realize it before I slathered it on, thankfully. 🙂

Forgetting to do my brows! Must freak out my coworkers that once or twice a month I have way different, skinnier brows than usual! But then I remember that I forgot, and do them real quick at my first break time. I hardly see anyone until then, so it’s usually okay.

My makeup mistakes are all related to allergies! Sometimes I forget I’m wearing eyeliner and rub my eyes and end up looking like a raccoon. Sometimes I forget I’m wearing bright lipstick and am not careful enough with the tissues and end up looking like a crazy clown with lipstick all over my chin/nose.

I have almost lip penciled my brows quite a few times. Not a brown lip liner either!

I’m always bumping my face with the tip of the mascara wand while applying the product. I end up with a blob on the side of my nose or the outer corner of my eye. Only on the left side. *smh*

I sometimes forget to put on cream blush before powder. Every morning I grab my make up and put my BB Pot rouge on top of my powder compact and still I manage to apply powder first and then think oops I did it again * smacks fore head* (and to be honest, I then apply my cream blush over my powder lol -because I hate changing plans- blush goes with the shade of lipstick I picked that morning ? )

There’s always one part of the left eyelid that remains without eyeshadow, like if it was waterproof!
