What Were the Last 3 Beauty Products You Finished All the Way Down to the Last Drop?

Good to the last drop

I’ll be the first to admit that part of the reason I’m asking this today is because I wanted to take a picture of my empty jar of By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Care ($60), which I’ve had forever and only just finished. 😁

I was hoping Santa would drop off another jar, but I guess he didn’t get the memo.

Last few empties…

  1. By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Care
  2. Joico Moisture Co+Wash (Side note: I just finished the last of the three bottles I’ve been hoarding since this got discontinued, and yes, I’m a sad panda. 🐼)
  3. Chanel Dimensions de Chanel Mascara

How ’bout you?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    TGIF!!

    1. Matrix biolage scalp sync
    2. Tatcha water cream sample size (didn’t love it, too greasy for my skin)
    3. Paula’s choice 5%AHA serum

Hope you have a great weekend Karen!

Hi, Jade! Happy Friday. I’ve *just* started exploring the world of Paula’s Choice; I have her BHA exfoliating toner and love it! Will you be repurchasing the 5% AHA serum? Maybe I’ll try that next.

I actually bumped it up to 10% and bought that serum instead. I alternate the AHA every other night with a retinol oil from the Ordinary but love the AHA and only use that in the summer. It’s made such a difference in the texture of my skin.

Milani Make It Last Finishing Spray, my HG, have been through countless bottles and it except for lipstick, your makeup will not budge all day.
Clinique DDML (Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion), also been through countless bottles since I worked as a cosmetics consultant for them.
L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Sandstone, my go to lipstick.

    1. Neulash serum (I had a two pack so I’m starting the other one)
    2. Origins Powerful Lifting Cream. Love this stuff! Repurchased, Macy’s had free gifts with purchase.
    3. Benefit Roller Lash. Liked this mascara but I have some other ones to use up too.
Happy Friday! It’s going to be -20 for the low temp tonight but the boyfriend and I are venturing out to a hockey game anyways!

Hi Karen, Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I commented but I read your blog religiously. 🙂

Mine are all skin care—Hada Labo Hyalurokic a is, CosRX Snail essence and my Kose cleansing oil. Love all that stuff. I also go through sunscreen regularly. I’m at a place where I’m pretty happy with my skincare routine and less likely to try new things so I have regular empties. Have a great weekend!

Aveeno Eczema Therspy Cream, Kerastase shampoo (don’t love the smell but it was so good!) And I’m scraping the sides of my Nars Pure Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly.

    1. Andalou 1000 roses cleansing foam (this happens every 2 months or so. Nice product but doesn’t last long. Half heartedly looking for a replacement.)
    2. Rocky Mountain Blossom Berry conditioner (wonderful, light weight, gorgeous smelling product that they no longer carry 🥺)
    3. Aquaphor healing ointment in tiny jar. I can only find this at one retailer in my city and it is literally the only thing I can use on my lips. I usually buy 7-8 at a time. It’s cheap, at least.

    Oh empties! My favorite subject.
The last three things I finished all the way to the drop and then bought replacements for–multiple times–
Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray–I’m on probably my third bottle of this, at least? I adore it. Sephora doesn’t seem to carry it anymore but Amazon does.
This product totally shows the power of samples. I’d never worn makeup setting spray in my life, at least not that I can remember, but I got a deluxe sample of this in one of those Sephora try a bunch of stuff kits, and I’ve been sold hook line and sinker every since. I use it every single day that I wear makeup==Monday through Friday religiously and I can’t imagine going without it. My makeup lasts and lasts and lasts.
The other thing I use to the last drop is BECCA First Light Priming Filter Face Primer. I adore this purple fluid. It makes my soon to be 50-year-old face look awake! And a bit younger! And bright!
My other every drop product is Sunday Riley’s Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil. HOWEVER, I’m on my fourth or fifth bottle of this and at $105 an ounce, I’m questioning my devotion to Ms. Riley. Especially since you posted that link a few months ago to the article about how the company has been manipulating reviews and enlisting staffers to do fake online profiles to leave reviews. That really ticked me off. It’s made me question whether I’m really seeing the results I think I’m seeing.

    Wooo, that’s it.

What are you and your little home slice up to this weekend?

TGIF! Although, why?, since it’s going to storm all weekend and I have to go to a funeral tomorrow. Well, I hope you all have a better weekend planned than I do!

So, the last three products I finished were:
    1) a bottle of Sunday Riley Good Genes
    2) a bottle of my favorite shampoo, Matrix Keep Me Vivid
    3) a tube of Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Although, I’m with Jennifer about questioning my Sunday Riley products now. Not so much the results, but the necessity of spending so much when I see other people having success with less expensive products; for example, my mom likes The Ordinary’s No Brainer set, which costs all of $29. So I’m thinking about experimenting with some other brands when this bottle of GG runs out.

    TGIF!
    1) Japanese sunscreen. I think I go through at least 6 to 10 tubes/bottles every year.
    2) Zelens Power D treatment drops. When my skin is dry, red, painful, irritated this stuff is so soothing.
    3) Clinique Moisture Surge Intense and Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture. My most used moisturizers.

What kind of Japanese sunscreen do you get? Is it better than US brands?

I use several brands. I can’t say that they’re better, they’re just different. They sit better on my skin without turning me even paler than I already am. I use Shiseido, which is slightly different in Japan, but I will use the US version if I run out of the Japanese. I like this one because it stays on when I sweat, so I wear it when I go for runs or exercise. Another brand I like is Allie. This one dries down so quickly and once it’s dry it’s stuck in place and cannot be rubbed off. It’s another that I wear when I exercise. I haven’t worn this one under makeup but I think it would make a great sticky primer. I also wear Annessa which is a Shiseido drugstore brand. The sensitive skin/children milk version of this is wonderful. Completely irritation free and it doesn’t make me ghostly white. I basically try three to four different ones on each trip I make and then re-up on the ones I like/love.

Happy Friday! Three products I’ve used up are Neutrogena sunscreen, Ulta Beauty matte eye primer, and Caudalie Beauty Elixir (technically not quite empty but getting there, it’s the mini size). My problem is that I keep trying new things. This year I would like to be on a low buy and finish the products I have.

Hey Karen! TGIF to you! Hope your weekend involves some fun and relaxation with fam. 🙂

The last 3 products for me were:
    1) Bioderma’s Sensibio (micellar water) – Cannot live without this stuff.
    2) Chanel Le Volume Revolution mascara – Mainly bought because it has a 3D printed brush (I like the concept of utilizing and integrating technology into cosmetic products to better serve consumers and ultimately, the environment).
    3) May Lindstrom’s Blue Coccoon – This jar lasted forever. I’m now down to the last scrapings *sobs*. It’s been a lifesaver for my traumatized winter skin. The scent takes some getting used to at first, if you’re not into herbal scents (which I love).

The Body Shop camomile eye makeup remover. I’ve been using this product for almost 30 years. Sooooo many empty bottles.

Kiehl’s avocado eye creme. I’m half-way through my second jar.

Clinique All About Eyes. Many jars. This was my go-to before I discovered the Kiehl’s.

Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner, Mushroom and Whiskey. I used these down to teeny-tiny nubs that wouldn’t fit in the sharpener anymore. The replacements are getting short now too.

Urban Decay Naked lipgloss. They should make this formula in more colors. I would buy them all.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel. So many jars. My skin has aged enough now that I have to use another product on top to maintain moisture all day, but this is still the thing I put on right out of the shower in the morning. Feels so refreshing.

Philosophy lipgloss in Squishy Red Fishy. Tasted and smelled just like Swedish Fish candy. Discontinued. Why oh why did I not buy a hundred tubes?? So sad.

    – Trader Joes Tea Tree face wash (I found a little bit too intense for my normal skin) – substituted by Fresh Soy face cleanser, my favorite cleanser of all times.
    – Kopari coconut lip balm – substituted by a big jar of Laneige lip mask
    – Aveeno leave in treatment – substituted by the IGK mistress hair balm

    Have a good week!!
