What Are Your Favorite Warm Weather Makeup/Beauty Products Right Now?

June 17th, 2012 by Karen 28 Comments

Most of mine change every year (and sometimes multiple times each year), but as of right now, here are three things I’m totally hooked on…

  1. NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 Sunscreen/PA+++: The name sounds like something out of a science fiction novel (“We set down on LV426 to refuel the ship and restock our supplies of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 Sunscreen/PA+++”), but this tinted moisturizer is currently one of my favorite products in this solar system, or any other, for that matter. It’s as light as a feather, and yet I can still build it up in layers for extra coverage on my trouble spots.
  2. MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara: I fall more in love with this mascara every single day. I swear, it hates smudges even more than I do! No smudges or flakes, and it creates long, separated, super glossy lashes in just one coat. The slim brush makes it really easy to use, and like NARS Pro Radiant, it’s so lightweight that it feels like I’m barely wearing anything at all.
  3. Benefit Dallas: Back in my life after a long, unexplainable hiatus (I just got distracted by other things), this bronzy peach blush is so blasted easy to blend…and dang if it doesn’t look fab with a tan.

How about you? What Are Your Favorite Warm Weather Makeup/Beauty Products Right Now?

Karen

    I really love CoverGirl’s LashBlast 24hr mascara — I work outside (doing facepaint and henna tattoos) and really need products that stand up to prolonged heat, wind, and long hours. This mascara DOES not run! It’s become my HG of mascaras!

    I also like Shiseido sunscreen, the milky one with SPF 60 b/c I’m very fair and need budgeproof sun protection when I’m outdoors slinging glitter.

    Mine are my Clarins sunscreen over Clinique moisture surge, Chanel Rose Petale blush, Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara and any of the tinted lip balm like products from Fresh, Clinique, Burt’s Bees etc.

    The first two (moisturizer and sunscreen) are a must-do, every day!

    Re: NARS tinted moisturizer, i love how the product feels, but some of their shades are too orange?! Case in point: Annapoorna. It stood out while the MUA was trying to match me, even Cuba, which is darker than my skin tone looked nice, but Annapoorna made us both go WHOA!

    Lancome Definicils Waterproof – stays on without raccoon eyes
    Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Tinted Treatment – don’t need to worry about it melting off
    NARS Smudge Proof Eye Base – keeps all eye products from creasing
    Makeup Forever Aqua Creams – seriously water-proof and long lasting
    Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill – sparkly goodness that doesn’t fade

    I got a sample the Nars TM last week & I liked it. Went back last night & bought a full size one. Also using MAC’s Stereo Rose MSF. Love!

    Thats so funny! I just got hooked on Dallas again as well. I’m a lot paler than you are and I find that it is still gives a beautiful flush (not to brozer-ish, if you will). I’m looking forward to the lipgloss coming out! 🙂
    I might have to try out that mascara you mentioned. I’m really skilled at smudging my mascara, LOL!

    Kibio mineral sunscreen with vanilla, tamanu and coconut – SPF 50
    The Face Shop power perfection BB cream – light beige;
    MAC cremesheen lipstick – ravishing;
    MAC blot – light;
    Bobbi Brown blush – nectar;
    Buxom lip polish – destiny.

    I love sheer, peach/coral tones around summertime!

    Hope you’re living it up this summer, Karen. The Kitties and Emily say Hellooooooo!

    Revlon ColorStay, THE best foundation ever. Survived in the dessert with it (literally, Tunisia trip last week) 🙂
    No7 Cream Blush, sooo easy to blend.
    Loreal Double Extensions Mascara (the red-white one), stays on until I decide otherwise 🙂 Sometimes I wear it for 2 days in a row because I am too lazy to take it off, but not a single smudge happens during the 48 hours 😉

    I am loving Aveeno Positively Radiant SPF 15 face lotion (creates a nice glow and also a great base for any makeup), and when I do go for foundation I like Garnier BB Cream in Light/Medium, also SPF 15 (I think). For powder and an extra layer of sunscreen I like Bare Minerals Mineral Veil in SPF 25.

    If I go for eyes (I’m half southern Italian so my eyelashes are a thick, dark brown – I can get away with minimal to no eye makeup in the summer for days around the house and workdays), I like Maybelline Lash Stiletto Waterproof mascara – It doesn’t flake and leaves my eyelashes long, volumized and glossy. I sometimes layer the Lash Stiletto over other mascaras for a waterproof layer like Rimmel Scandal Eyes.

    I will have to look at the Nars Tinted stuff – I like Nars a lot and I’m always on the hunt for a good tinted moisturizer.

    I love the reference to the sci-fi novel for the Nars thing! My fiance came with me to Sephora today and laughed at the “Lorac” brand name because it sounds like an alien name (possibly a reference to Zorak?) I tried to correct his pronunciation, but if it keeps him out of trouble at Sephora…

    I’ve been wearing:

    -MUFE Mat Velvet+ (I’d been wearing a Korean BB Cream, but it gave me a big under the skin pimple, so I mix this with sunscreen to make it a bit sheerer – I can’t seem to find a TM for my ultra-pale neutral-undertoned skin that doesn’t break me out)
    -Milani Liquif’eye Brown pencil eyeliner
    -Diorshow Mascara in Mitzah, or CoverGirl LashBlast 24 Hour in Black Gold
    -Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef (SO GORGEOUS!)
    -tinted lip balms (L’Oreal and Burt’s Bees)

    I also recently bought an antiperspirant formulated for the face from WalMart Neat 3B Face Saver Gel – this stuff is great! It’s not for all over, but it’s great for the ultra-muggy weather we’ve been having on the upper lip, forehead, etc. It’ll be perfect for the wedding I’m going to this weekend (for myself and the bride!)

    And sunscreen all day every day because I’m a ginger.

    Tarte cheek stains are making a comeback into my daily routine, and all the BB creams out there for the ease of an all in one product!!

    When it’s so hot it feels like the makeup is about to slide right off my face (like yesterday!), that’s when I reach for lip/cheek stains and gel eyeliners. My faves are Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint (looks amazing topped with Ev Rev, by the way) and Bobbi Browns Gel liner in Denim Ink. I’m all about the navy blue liners — they make me look really “bright eyed.”

    I’m with you. Loving the Nars tinted moisturizer and when I need more coverage I add a bit of Estee Lauder DW Light!

    When I’m just running errands and don’t need that much coverage, I’m really loving using Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer with Bare Minerals mineral powder over it. Just easy and natural, and feels weightless!

    Loving Revlon coral reef cream blush underneath my tarte blissful blush for long lasting cheek color.

    For lips – using Revlon lipbalm stain in Darling (it’s purple looking but gorgeous lips) with Chanel Sweet Beige over it. Perfect pink lip for NC35 skin!

    NARS Torrid blush, and a gloss like NYX MegaShine in Plum or Golden Prune. And I’m loving the Revlon Lip Butters.

    1) Dior Hydra Life BB cream. I haven’t used a foundation at all since I got this. It functions as a sunblock, lotion, AND good base! I just don’t think I’d appreciate wearing full-on foundation when it’s warm!

    2) MAC Zoom Waterfast Lash mascara. It’s waterproof all right (I’ve tested this out at a wedding haha), and actually lengthens and keeps curls REALLY well! To be honest I’m surprised, because feedback about MAC mascaras is usually lukewarm.

    3) I know it’s weird, but cream blushes might be something I’ll wear more in summer. I like how easy it is to blend, also I GUESS it wouldn’t seem as patchy if it melts? I’ll have to experiment when I go home for the holidays 😉

    My summer line up consists of –

    Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer & UDPP Eden
    Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer
    Urban Decay Shadow Pencils
    Revlon Photoready Cream Blush
    Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray.

    It has gotten too hot to do anything more than these!

    I tried out the new Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid foundation recently while on vacation and loved it so much I bought a bottle of it at duty free when I was leaving. It’s such a wonderful consistency and makes my skin look wonderful – as if I’m not wearing any makeup. I use it on top of a primer (lately Bare Escentuals Prime Time – the original one) and with concealer and setting powder. Unlike other foundations, this one blends very well with my skin. Even after a whole day of walking around London doing touristy things and shopping *grin*, it held so well on my combination oily skin.

    I’ve really been loving Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. I’ve tossed aside my Chanel foundations for this. The sunscreen really blocks out everything. This is a must for me as I use Retin-A and must avoid sun on my face.

    Definitely Benefit Coralista and Chanel’s new Glossimer Calypso.
    I love coral colours as they add more life to my ridiculously pale skin than normal pinks would.

    I’m just worried that I’ll use all of my Calypso lipgloss before the summer’s over!

    My esthetician gave me Glymed Plus Photo-Age Environmental Protection Gel (whoo! long name. lol) and it’s great because it mixes with my makeup for a professional-grade all-day tinted moisturizer thing! I love it. I wear it every day, even when I’m going to the beach! I have sensitive, fair skin so it’s great to be able to go outside without fear. 🙂

    I recently got a sample of oil control primer from Opalima Beauty. I love it! My skin is extremely oily and it hates this time of year. This stuff keeps me looking “dewy” and not oil-slicked:)
