What Are You Wearing on Your Nails?

June 27th, 2014 by Karen 40 Comments

MAC Studio Nail Lacquer in Rebel Swatch
MAC Rebel, a rich mid-toned plum cream

Today I’m wearing two coats of MAC Studio Nail Lacquer in Rebel.

I painted my paws with it last night because I wanted to send a pic to my friend, who’s daughter is named Rebel. I told him that she would think he was the BEST DAD EVER if he got her a bottle of this polish. 🙂

How about you? What are you wearing on your nails?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. TGIF!

Rebel is a really pretty color. He totally would be the best dad ever if he got this nail polish for her. I have been wearing OPI Life Gave Me Lemons on my nails this week. It’s a beautiful chartreuse color.

My nails are jacked up at the moment, all peeling and cracking, so I’m wearing Sephora Formula X Nail Hydrator, topped with Julep’s sheer pink Oxygen Nail Treatment. This seems to be helping. The Sephora stuff is just nail strengthener, with some oils added, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality.

I have nothing on my nails! My nails have been peeling and breaking for months. I’ve been wearing various hardeners trying to strengthen them, but the problem is I use my nails to pick at things (stickers, labels, and such). They’re finally getting in line, but I’m resisting the urge to paint them until they look strong and healthy and grow out a bit. This color is beautiful though! It makes me want to paint mine. 🙂

Right now nothing! I have a very deep split into the nail bed on my right thumb, so I won’t be polishing any of them until it’s healed!

That color from MAC is so pretty! I have some red polish on my toes fom when I got a pedicure a few weeks go. My fingernails are bare. But I’m planning on making time this weekend for a mani/pedi.

Tabs looks pretty tough in that pic. Either that or like he just got woken up from a nap. I know kitties can be grumpy if they don’t get their 22 hours of sleep. 🙂

I need to desperately handle my pedi situation this weekend! It’s pretty tragic, LOL. Are you going to do your own mani/pedi or treat yourself to a service?

      Happy Friday!

I think I’m just going to chill at home and do my nails myself. I rarely get manicures done at the salon b/c they chip so fast and I feel like I’m wasting money. However, I did try a gel manicure a while back and it was awesome! It lasted a solid two weeks. Removing it was kind of a pain, but I was happy with the wear time.

        Happy Friday!

That sounds like fun. I actually kind of enjoy doing an at-home mani/pedi more. That way I can take my sweet time, and I can watch whatever I want on TV. Do you have your colors picked out yet? I am tempted to do a dark fall mani, but it IS still June and all, LOL!

Yep, I find it relaxing to do my own nails. I usually get a professional pedicure at the start of sandal season but then maintain it in my own.

I always like to do pinks or reds on my toes, but I’m thinking of doing something else on my fingers – maybe blue or yellow.

It is June, but the 4th of July is already next week! This month has gone by fast, but I’m looking forward to the long weekend.

Oooh do a bright yellow! I might have to do that too. I have a Rimmel polish that I’ve been wanting to try…

Remember when nail polishes were, like, only red, coral and pink? It’s so much more interesting now in terms of color.

I am wearing Chanel Orage from the fall collection. Love it!

I used the Julep Oxygen base and top coat with it and it lasted 1 day at work without chipping (which is unheard of for me! lol).

I’m currently wearing Catrice ‘Pool Party At Night’. It used to be part of Catrice’s permanent collection before they did an overhaul of the nail polishes. I’m still sad they discontinued it; it’s a beautiful nautical blue.

Nothing, yet, but I has plans. I painted my toes this beautiful taupe from the OPI brazil collection then topped it with both a blue/purple flakie and essie sparkle in top finally completing the look with a matte top coat. It is love! I’ll be doing the very same thing in my fingers.

Currently wearing a coral-esque color from Kiss nail gel line. Stark contrast from the all black mani I had last week. It’s such a super fun spring/summer color. And the fact that I get at least 7 days without chipping is an added bonus for me!

Currently on my toes Dior ” Pandore ” and nothing on my hands. Pandore is a go-to red for toes in my opinion. It applies so easily. When in a hurry, use a Dior nail polish that is true^^ !

I’m wearing Burning Blossom by Femme Fatale. It’s an Indie glitter polish – pale peach with tiny black spots like kiwi seeds and hot pink matte glitter of several sizes. Makes me smile every time I look at my hands.

Rebel is a great name and a pretty polish! I’m wearing OPI Scores A Goal from the Brazil collection — seemed appropriate! (I’m -loving- all the World Cup coverage.) From the picture it looks similar to Rebel. Don’t know how close tho haven’t seen them together.

Way too many people at the top of this list aren’t wearing nail polish because of cracked nails and that’s so sad! 🙁 I just finished my toes in an indie polish inspired by Dr Who: https://www.etsy.com/listing/150145385/run-you-clever-boy-clara-oswald-and My fingers are in another indie polish: http://www.lucky13lacquer.com/product/fight-like-a-girl These sparkly glittery nail polishes inspired by TV and books that people make? Soooo amazing.

Chanel Base Protectrice Protective Base Coat and Laque Brillance Extreme Extreme Shine Nail Lacquer. These are Chanel’s base and top coats. I have been using them to help proect my natural nails. They seem to work and make my nails look very beautiful and shiny. I have also used the Chanel base coat by itself just for protection, and it also creates a nice shine.
