Two Ways to Win a TRIA Skin Clarifying System Valued at $473

April 15th, 2010 by Karen 378 Comments

  • The giveaway is now closed. Congrats to the winner, Brenda! Before you go, check the home page for ongoing giveaways.

Afternoon, girls. Today’s giveaway ironically comes at a time in my life when I’m almost happy with my skin.

Like millions of young men and women, I went through some rough years with terrible acne back in my late teens and early twenties. I look back at old pictures now and remember some of the mean things people said… Still hurts my feelings to this day.

Coping with acne isn’t easy (I’m here if you need someone to talk to), but today there are options that didn’t exist even 10 or 15 years ago, options like the TRIA Skin Clarifying System.

The prize

One lucky lady (or gent) will win the new TRIA Skin Clarifying System, a three-piece set designed to clear, smooth and brighten acne-prone skin (a $473 value).

What is the TRIA Skin Clarifying System?
Are you familiar with blue light acne therapy? Previously only available with a prescription, it’s used to safely and gently eliminate P. acnes, the bacteria that causes mild to moderate blemishes.

TRIA’s nifty, at-home blue light device (no prescription necessary) is one of the three steps in their acne-clearing system.

  • STEP ONE: Cleanse. TRIA’s creamy Clarifying Foam Cleanser contains AHAs and BHAs to gently clean, exfoliate and prepare skin for blue light therapy
  • STEP TWO: Treat. TRIA recommends five minutes of blue light therapy per day to heal existing breakouts and eliminate the acne bacteria
  • STEP THREE: Nourish. This serum’s blend of anti-oxidants and nutrients accelerates renewal and improves the texture of skin

What can the TRIA Skin Clarifying System do for you?
TRIA says their system works gently over time to eliminate acne while preventing future breakouts. Participants in clinical trials, the company says, saw a significant reduction in breakouts after seven days; smoother, more even-toned skin after 10-14 days; and skin that looked healthier, clearer, brighter and more radiant after eight weeks.

I skipped lunch today which means I only had coffee. I haven’t seen Burn Notice but I may have to check it out.

This weekend will be full of soccer and lacrosse games.

Tonight was dinner out night. I had a steak with sauteed ‘shrooms and white cheddar mashed ‘taters. It was yummers! For dessert I came home and had a few Girl scout cookies (thin mints!)

I’m in my 40’s and my skin isn’t as spotty as it was when I was younger, but it is just as oily if not more so. I do get some pretty nasty hormonal acne around my chin and nose “that time of the month” so this system would be great for me.

I work at a daycare in my gym, which isn’t exactly my favorite job… but today, my day was made by this little boy telling me he liked my haircut. I don’t know why, but I seriously almost started crying. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m PMSing, but geeze, he really warmed my heart. I just wanted to share!

Watching Future Food (A-MAZING show, it’s a must-watch!) on the Planet Green TV network makes me think of two things:

    1) “Oooooo. Aaaahhhhhh. Wow. I mean… how did.. did they just… OH. Really?”

I remember just a few years ago thinking that 25 was so adult and grown-up, and that surely I wouldn’t dealing with all teenaged problems anymore. Now I’m a recent graduate (again), unemployed, dealing with the worst acne I’ve ever experienced, living at home with my mother, wearing sparkly eyeshadow… I’ve somehow regressed to 18 again! 🙁

Today I wandered into CVS and found the Healthy Wear Physicians Formula bronzer that you had done a review on, except it came with a bonus concealer powder! It’s like buy one get one free. Totally good reason to buy it, eh? =D

OMG, this is an awesome giveaway! But all that aside, you watch Burn Notice too??? OMG, I love it! My boyfriend got me into it last summer (along with Royal Pains, lol) and was just devastated when they said in August that there wouldn’t be new episodes until summer 2010!! But I guess they moved it up, because they had new ones in January! Whew! LOL!

And what I’m still longing for – is clear youthful skin… :'( Mine is not. I still have acne break-outs, blemishes, dryness, fine lines… Eh, I hope this time I’ll win, because this Clarifying System would help me a lot. *sighs*

I had horrible acne when I was younger too. It’s better now, but on top of my milder acne, I now have scars and skin discoloration. I just long for the day when I can have clear and even skin. Did your acne leave any marks? If so, how did you get rid of them?

I wonder if it’s because I’m wearing more make-up then when I was younger? Sometimes I workout with makeup on if I go to the gym straight from work.. maybe I should get some cleansing wipes for that. Was searching for foundation primer on Google that your blog is part of the hit list, read about your review of the Physician Formula tinted moisturizer and scrolled down and saw this giveaway for TRIA system.

I was filing my federal tax this morning as it was rejected last night at 10.00PM!!! I filed electronically through TurboTax — apparently, the AGI that I put in was wrong — i freaked out. Called up the IRS today and went through the automated voice system and tried to find out my AGI — it says to put it as zero … so, let’s see what is going to happen!

By the way, enjoy reading your reviews…. this is first time I am writing a comment for a blog! Good work!

My boyfriend and I are avid movie watchers. We love watching them in theaters and renting them to watch at home. For the past couple of months, he’s been choosing not-so-great movies, but he finally picked two good ones, one of which was Law Abiding Citizen. I loved it, but this weekend is chick-flick weekend so it’s my turn to choose, can’t wait!!!

What a great give away, but unfortunately not for international readers….
I was so excited when i saw this give away. I’m 40 now, and still have acne, and really big breakouts sometimes.
I tried so many brands…. But not one brand is the HG for me.
But i just going to hope that there will be another give away for this in future, that is also for international readers.

This would be a dream come true for me.SERIOUSLY!! I think it has a lot to do with the medicine I’ve had to take for some medical issues that came up within the last few years 🙁

I’ve decided to bake up a storm lately. Sugar cookies, pies, and baguettes! Three perfect, golden crispy baguettes came out of the oven today–alas, I forgot to put salt in the dough so all they’re good for is garlic bread. Le sigh.

Will do better next time I hope.

ps– I certainly hope I win. my skins been going CRAZY lately.

Since this is a new product to hit the market, I am sure those interested in the product will appreciate a review. WOW. This is a device I’ve been yearning, when was the last time you heard someone use that word, for since I first heard about it. I always have my doubts when devices or serums promise so much but in this case, I absolutely believe the product does work. Can you imagine how much pain, suffering and humiliation it will prevent teenagers and anyone else suffering from breakouts and acne? This is revolutionary just as the clarisonic has been a G-dsend. I waited 2 years before purchasing one of those mostly because I never have money but also because it seemed too good to be true. Yet in that case, I saw a major improvement in my skin immediately, which only improves the longer I use it. I’d love the opportunity to try the Tria system and I hope I get lucky this time and as always, I wish everyone the best of luck as well. I know we would all love to own one.

this is so awesome! makes me sad/angry though this, would have been amaaaaaazing. ive suffered through acne for so long, about a decade now. even in my baby & toddler pictures i see pictures and most of them i have a rash around my mouth area. my whole freaking life my skin has sucked and i have it under decent control now because i take antiobiotics from the dermetologist. but i would still love to have this system because i have so much scarring i cant afford a single bit more. also if i won i would read into if its safe to use on your body cause i still have breakouts on my chest, back and bottom…im not sure if its just the comparison of acne being gone and going away but when its decribed to make your skin smoother, more even-toned, healthier, clearer, brighter and more radiant it seems like it would help not only my existing acne but also my scarring. i hope i win this…..

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
