NOVATO, California (November 3, 2012) — This November, for one day only, cats are taking over Sephora.
“It’s about damned time,” said Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog mascot and world-renowned plus-size kitty supermodel. “Cats are synonymous with beauty, and my feline friends and I plan to change the beauty world, one tail twitch at a time.”
This Sunday, November 4, Tabs and other feline fashion and beauty industry heavyweights will take over the regular staffing duties of Sephora employees and makeup artists at select stores worldwide. The cats will man the registers, cruise the aisles and advise beauty lovers on fragrance, skincare and cosmetics from a feline perspective. Shoppers can also expect to learn about cat-approved products.
“My friends and I are very excited to partner with Sephora on this exciting project,” said Tabs. “I can’t wait to help women realize their beautiful potential. It’s going to be a blast.” 🙂
Rise and shine, pal o’ mine! Welcome to the weekend. Hope you had a nice Friday night. Mine was pretty chill. El Hub and I had date night at Pasta Pomodoro, and then came home and rented a movie, Safety Not Guaranteed (a little slow, but charming).
I haven’t figured out my plan for the day yet, but I do know it involves a workout and some mommy and tabby time.
Don’t forget to enter this weekend’s giveaway for a $50 eGift card to Sephora before you go (details below). Have a great weekend, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Talk to you soon.
What folks are saying…

-Jacqueline“Thanks so much, Karen. Just in case you were wondering what I got with it, I decided to go with the Clarisonic Mia–I’ve been wanting it for years now, but have never purchased it because of the price. Your eCard helped me finally buy it! I look forward to using it. Thanks again!”
-Jane“Shut the front door! OMG Karen, you have made my day. 🙂 I’m sick in bed with the flu and this has just cheered me up immensely!!!!!!!! BTW, I’m the one that sent you that pic of my pug in a wig a few weeks back LOL! Thanks again, honestly, I’m beyond giddy right now.”
-Angel“Oh my goodness! Thank you so much Karen (and Tabs, of course)! I really appreciate this! I’d been eyeing the Anastasia brow pencil in Strawburn to match my red hair!”

Recommendations for affordable clip-in bangs that don’t look too terrible? What’s the best full-coverage foundation for very dry, flaky skin? — you get the idea.

1990 = my little pony board game! Lol I was really young so I don’t remember much 🙂
I never do big hair. It brings me back to the ’80 and I don’t want to go there 🙂
in 1990 I was 1 year old! No makeup yet :[
I was in college at U.T. in 1990.
I don’t use bronzer whatsoever.
1990 – Not born yet! 😀
I have naturally “big” hair, does that count? 😛
Kind of nervous- the fiance’s coming down next week for a few days to settle some pre-wedding stuff and it’s going to be hectic! Have to be prepared for the pre-wedding photoshoot (It’s kind of a “Chinese” thing, I think, getting photos of the couple taken before the wedding and all) in December and pick up our rings! 🙂

I was a ladybug for Halloween.
I love bronze! It makes my skin look flawless!
EcoTools Bamboo Bronzer brush. Love it!
I was four years old in 1990!
I’m wondering when Sephora will finally get around to doing their big sale this year.
Treated myself to the Tarte 5-Piece LipSurgence Collector’s Set while I was Christmas shopping this week, I do believe I’m going to love them!
I’m in NYC and things are finally getting back to normal
love Sephora! if i win, i’m getting Makeup For Ever’s individual false eyelashes and wearing them to the grocery store, Starbucks, to sit and read in the park… life is too short to not be fabulous every day!
I have to go very, very light on the bronzer on my pale skin, so I’ll use a skunk or fan brush.
In 1990 I was probably eating a lot ’cause I was a chubby 2 year old!
In 1990 I was just starting preschool!
I want to buy the Lusious lipstick in the shade Raspberry but i don’t know whether it would suit me or not:/. Luscious is a local cosmetic brand in Pakistan
Hope I win – I loooovvvveee Sephora!
Hilarious post today LoL
I hadn’t had power for 3 days
Hey Karen, this Sephora gift card would really come in handy 🙂 I use my real techniques stippling brush for bronzer or blush or highlighter. This brush is amazing! And I am not a big on concealers but I have been using Maybelline Age Rewind under eye concealer and it does a great job and it’s cheap. In 1990 I was 6 years old so just staying at home 🙂
In 1990 I would have been awkward and shy in second grade.
I was only 1 year old in 1990, so I was probably sleeping! lol
For the past 2 months, I have been trying to convince myself that I do not need Urban Decay’s Vice palette. I already own 7 (show pony, vegan, roller girl, BOS III and IV, Naked 2, and the Black Palette), but Vice is just something else. The colors are so intriguing, and I still don’t own any eyeshadows with the new formula. Do I need it? Probably not. Do I want it so bad I feel like I’ll be incomplete without it? Definitely.
I’m not sure what I was doing in 1990 . . . probably something terrible, like being three years old?
In 1990 I was in first grade so I was playing jump rope and eating lots of candy.
Yay for Saturday giveaways 😀 In 1990 I was three years old and probably not doing anything all that interesting… And as for big hair, I’d love to do it! But I can’t 🙁 Fine, lifeless hair ftl…

I was 5 in 1990, and I was most likely playing with my little sister and dogs.
Bronzer is at the top of my makeup wish list! I’ve had the same compact for nearly three years and it’s almost gone!
In 1990 I was in second grade. It’s a great age because my fellow classmates didn’t realize how much of a dork I was yet. 2 years later I would get a perm and some fairly complex orthodontia and it was pretty rough until I got my braces off and my perm grew out.
By the way, I posted a response on the Monday questionnaire (not this past Monday but the one before) about how I was going to New York for the weekend. Yea… That turned out to be an eight day trip. I was staying with a friend on the upper west side so we still had water and power. A friend of ours works for an event & catering company downtown and they had just purchased 5 brand new Viking commercial ovens. When they went to check the kitchen on Wednesday they were floating in several feet of water 🙁
Have to agree with Agata about Maybelline Age Rewind being the best under eye concealer I have found too! Love the stuff!
I’ve been using Tarte Dark Circle Defense for a few years now, and although it seems to be smoother than most. Undereye concealer is something I have to wear everyday so I like using an all-natural brand for it =)
I was 4 years old in 1990, probably causing lots of trouble 🙂
I was 9 in 1990, so I was busy being super awkward and nerdy.

Yes, I do big hair! I wear my hair in roller set curls and love when my hair has a mind of its own 🙂
I just got my Sigma travel brushes yesterday and I’m in love! Going out to Target today to buy the Sonia Kashuk flat tap brush that you recommended! Excited 🙂
Well, I use bronzer as a contour or a blush. I use an angled blush brush by sephora if I’m contouring. If I’m using it as a blush, I reach for my bobbi brown blush brush.
My heart goes to the people affected by hurricane Sandy.
The best full coverage foundation for dry, flaky skin is probably one of the wax-based cream foundations like MAC full coverage or Graftobian with a healthy layer of moisturizer underneath.
I currently use the Real Techniques Contour Brush for bronzer. But I dream about Hakuhodo’s one.
Its perfect weather today for some hot chocolate and a good movie!
I use an angled brush for bronzer although I haven’t really mastered the art of contouring just yet…
I use Time Balm concealer under my eyes, but I’m pretty sure I heard about it from you, Karen!
perfect Saturday to relax, housework, and drinking coffee…
I think midterms just happened? Maybe? It’s all a caffeine-fueled rush @_@
Butter London finally put Fishwife up for Canadian orders – yay! But $10 shipping. Boo! And no F&F sale for us. It’s gorgeous, but $27+tax for one pretty polish….maybe if I win here! Hah!

In 1990 I was 7 years old, much too young for makeup : )

I’m still in summer color makeup mode. I love bronzes, teals, and corals.
I was a sophomore in college in 1990.
Hey Karen! I love the MAC Mineralize concealer…Very good coverage but still doesn’t feel heavy. The colors seem to be a little off though so you may wanna swatch your regular color first to make sure it’s good.
if you find the clip on bangs, let me know!
as for the concealer – i like the studio sculpt by mac, but the key is to warm it up with the fingers!
In 1990, I was a Junior in High School and it was a very shitty year. Also, I had big hair.. or at least big bangs.
The 90’s was all about experimenting I was trying out blondissima hair dye which for black hair turns it basically yellow and a gothic grunge stage, and wow where do the embarrassing memories end!!
3 more weeks
I have medium thick curly hair which is pain to comb !
1990? I think I was in 7th grade! Anyway, i like MAC Prolong wear concealer. They dont seem cakey to me and last all day!
I don’t know if it’s good for dry flaky skin, but Kat VonD’s tattoo foundation is the best foundation I have ever, EVER used. I have blotchy combination skin and dark under eye circles and the stuff covers everything up without looking fake. I hope they never discontinue it.
In 1990, I was 9, dreaming about getting my first mascara (3 years later, Body Shop).
Hi Karen!!! I abssolutely LOVE big hair!!! It might be because of my Southern upbringing haha!! The secret is the correct shampoo and conditioner, a cylindrical brush, big rollers, and a great hair dryer!!

Random comment: I’m planning on trying to master some sort of winter beauty look that will make me look like a candy cane! Plans are: red lipstick, heavy blush, and white eyeliner used to white out my eyelashes (frosty tips style!)
I was 1 years old in 1990, so I don’t have any memories from that year.
Girl, I ONLY do big hair 😉

I have crazy fine hair….wish I could get a big, voluminous ‘do!
Love big hair!
I don’t use bronzer. I’m very fair and haven’t found one I like.
I have SUPER dry skin and I am loving the Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation, and my Lioele Beyond the Solution BB cream!
I would love to do big hair but mine is stick straight and quite flat 🙁
13 in 1990, and was in the usual love/hate relationship with junior high and life in general. Was mostly thinking about high school.
Thanks again for another great giveaway opportunity, Karen! 😀

I was 8 in 1990, and rockin’ out like 8 year olds do. But then I lost my groove when mommy dearest chopped off my long blond locks and gave me a bowl cut. Oh the horror! Mom said it was the Dorothy Hamill hair cut (sure, Dorothy Hamill became somewhat of an American icon after she won gold in women’s figure skating at the Olympics…..in 1976). Thanks Mom, lol.
And by the way, my favourite undereye concealer is, hands down, Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream. It’s my go-to product when I want that, “hey, I’m bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning” look. Which is every morning.
Thanks for the contest, Karen!
i like revlon’s under-eye concealer, comes in a twist up tube. get a shade lighter and it brightens up your under eye area quite nicely.
Off to watch James Bond on a Sunday morning. What a way to start the day!

I love Sephora!
Yesterday I went for a make over at Sephora. I normally don’t even bother with under eye concealer because it looks so cakey or doesn’t stay on. I’d rather go without and have bags than obvious makeup. The MU used Tarte Marajuca Miracle on me and it wasn’t bad. Still wasn’t perfect but one of the best I’ve tried in awhile. Thanks for a chance at a giveaway. Have a good weekend.
I love Sephora!
In 1990 I was in first grade and was…probably being tricked out of eating my Jolly Ranchers. Something about the air pockets in the candy looking like boogers? Good times 😉
What were you doing in 1990 – i was doing yoga in my momma’s tummy!
Do you do big hair? if i could figure out what to do with hair..
Full-coverage under-eye concealer that doesn’t look cakey? For me a tiny amount of Amazing Cosmetics or liquid Smashbox with a small sweep of MUFE set powder
Clip-on bangs. What an interesting concept! My bangs are SO grown out and definitely need a trim now!
In 1990, I was 11. I probably had on an LA gear denim ensemble or a hot pink OP shirt that said “Girls Surf Too.” And maybe some wet and wild lipgloss.
In 1990, I was almost 3, and terrorizing my new baby brother 🙂
In 1990, I was in kindergarten.
I am not much of a big hair person!
Happy Saturday! No bronzer for me. Too fair skinned.
thank you so much for the giveaway! i’d love to win 🙂
recently, i’ve been using korres lip butter, and it’s amazing! some balms/butters give you that shiny, greasy look on your lips, but not korres. 🙂 when it dries, the pigments stay on your lips, so they’re nicely-colored as well.
that’s the only beauty tip i have, haha.
1990 was the year my family & I moved from St. Petersburg, Russia to America…I was seven!
I do big hair whenever there are high levels of humidity, my hair has its own mind….
I think Zena is going to drive me mad!
I ran this morning, and after 12 miles, all I wanted was pancakes, a shower, and the chance to play with my new lip tar goodies that my local Sephora has finally started selling. Lurve!! Salutations to Tabs from Juju, plus-sized Maine Coon model of the East Coast!
I’m still looking for that perfect full-coverage, non-cakey concealer. Any suggestions?

BEST undereye concealer: IT Cosmetics, BYE BYE Undereye. I use the fair (or is it light? I am downstairs and IT is up.) Apply with brush, just need a tiny squirt, blend and pat with sponge and/or finger. It is the best I have ever used! EVER! Does not cake or crease. PERFECT! Love IT!!!
Kisses for TABS.

Marathon tomorrow!
I do love some big hair, though it never stays enough for me
My hair does big hair on its own, to be honest.
Hope I win!
I wasn’t born until 1991, haha! I use the Real Techniques Contour brush for bronzer, and I’ve been having the worst trouble finding a concealer that will cover my dark circles. Can’t find one with full enough coverage.
My hair takes too much work to get it big; which makes me sad as I love big hair.
My favorite eyeshadow has to be armani eyes to kill! It gets painful when I go to the counter though lol
I sure don’t know any concealer that doesn’t cake up. I’ve tried several and just given up. Powder concealer worked okay as far as texture, but was really light.
The best full coverage foundation for dry skin is definitely the Laura Mercier silk cream foundation! It has a satin finish so it makes your skin look Dewey and bright instead of dry and flaky. It’s a bit on the pricier side but its definitely worth it!
i want to win pleeeeeeaaaase
I have a sinking feeling I was obsessed with Sweet Valley High in 1990. In my defense, I was 10 years old…

I would be so happy if my Sephora were staffed by cats! They have so much to teach us about style and class.
So jealous you are at the Kelly concert. I saw her in June and she was amazing!
I have never liked big hair on me. Even when I was little and my mom would hot roller my hair and puff it out, I would try and smooth it down.
I’ve beeb obsessing over contouring brushes lately. Just bought MAC 168, and still trying to decide whether it’s better than The Body Shop’s blush brush for cheek contouring. Thoughts?
I love cats, too. I have my own Tabs. His name is Domi. 🙂
I don’t know of any undereye concealers that are full coverage and dont cake (sounds impossible!) but my favorite one is a solid medium-coverage cream concealer (the hidden agenda concealer palette in 07). The salmon shade works wonders on my dark eyebags!
I love big hair! My hair is fine and flat 🙁 I love curls and volume! In 1990 I was in the 8th grade. My oh my those were good times, life was so simple and care free!
In 1990, I was starting college. Feel so old. lol
in 1990, i wasnt even born yet ! 😮 >.>
I wasn’t born in 1990 🙁 my sister was 1 though! I use an angled contour brush for my bronzer. I use Eve Pearl’s Salmon Concealer for my under eye, I don’t have dry, flaky skin so I have no idea 🙁
I am really liking Almay’s WakeUp foundation, It has just the right amount of moisture.
My Kitty’s bedtime is 9:30pm and he loves bedtime because he gets treats!
I just received Jo Malone cologne in Grapefruit for my birthday. It smells fantastic on its own and layered with other scents as well!
In 1990 I was 25; wearing a size 2, tanning and teasing my big hair.
Today at the mall there was a cat show! So bizarre!
The best under eye concealer I’ve used is the maybelline dream-lumi. doesn’t cake and really brightens the eyes.
In 1990 I was an awkward 12 yr old who’d just gotten her first pair of eyeglasses 8-D.
I am dying to win this gift card to treat myself to the sephora in the glow set that I can’t justify spending $45 for ( no full size products in this one!).
i love laura mercier’s undereye concealer.
Happy Birthday to me! I think I bought myself more gifts than other people combined hahaha
I want a new foundation brush because the one I’m using is hurting my face!
I wasn’t born until 1992 :p
Went to Youmacon today and going again tomorrow! There was some interesting makeup there!
I believe I was in preschool. And, I like Estee Lauder Double Wear for full-coverage foundation. Almost any foundation “bounced” lightly onto the skin with a damp beauty blender-type sponge will work on dry flaky skin, because it doesn’t pull the skin in any direction like rubbing with fingers or a brush would.
I can’t honestly say that I remember what I was doing in 1990…but I definitely did big hair, or at least I sat there while it happened to me.
I love love love Sephora!
The bigger the hair, the closer to god:)Thats the rule in my hair routine……..
Cats WILL run the world by 2020. Watch. 🙂
Oh, and in 1990, I think I was running around in a princess costume bent on destroying any and everything. *shrug*
1990 – highschool and BIG hair, very little make up.
1990? I was in the middle of elementary school and loving it.
1990 I was in middle school 🙂
I love MAC pots for foundation. they cover a lot and dont dry your skin
i’m watching psycho-pass episode 1.
I’m pretty much obsessed with Sephora and in 1990, I was 1 years old! hahah
i hear hard candy’s glamoflague is pretty good, just have a light hand when blending
My cat will not stay off the laptop. At all. It’s driving me crazy.
1990: I was 13. No more need be said about that.
In 1990, I was nine, so probably swooning over nkotb and wearing a lot of neon and side ponys.
i like MAC but the prep & prime face protect spf 50 didnt work as i was expecting 🙁
I’ve got a rough week ahead…but winning a Sephora gift card would make it better. 🙂
In 1990 I was -3!!!! So I guess I was not victim to the fashion of the time-dark lip liner AND frosty lip gloss????? Holy shit. I would never use this gift card to commit such heinous crimes.
Sadly, in 1990 the world was not yet graced by my presence :/
Aww, so cute & a great giveaway! $50 Sephora gift card… Come to mama!
Hmmmm 1990…that would put me at the age of.. *does math* 3 years of age! :O I bet I was up to no good lol!
The New Years Eve going from ’89 into ’90 was the first time a really truly *got* it. Before then I just thought it was a kind of boring holiday where I counted down from ten along with Dick Clark and soon after school would be back from winter break.
But that night my mom said “Coley, this is a fun one because we’re going into a new decade, something we only do every ten years. But this time when the new decade is over it’ll also be a new century, something that only happens every 100 years and it’ll be a new millenium, something that only happens every 1000 years. It’s special because it’s the beginning of the end of something.”
That concept just flat out blew my 8 year old brain. Every New Years since then it’s what I think about.
So….that’s what I was doing at the very beginning of 1990.
I look forward to this giveaway every week Karen! Currently working on crocheting a baby blanket since I have a nephew on the way. Feeling like I need a beauty blog break. 🙂
In 1990, I’m pretty sure I was making friendship bracelets, putting on backyard concerts and planning my future wedding to Jordan Knight. 😉
Today, I’m still following Jordan Knight around once in a while, trying to keep my big hair at bay and scouring your comments for good full-coverage concealer, which my 32 year-old self needs desperately now. lol
In 1990, I was likely making cheesy song dedications to my bestie in our middle school newsletter. 🙂
I am really diggin the cat silhouettes on your website!
Hmm preschool in 1990.
1999 – I was 10 years old, having the time of my life.
1990 I was doing what any other 4 year old was doing watching cartoons.
going to answer your default question: in 1990, i was living in the philippines. my dad was stationed there, until we had to evacuate due to the eruption of mt. pinatubo. such a crazy experience, but pretty cool to be a part of history. :o)
In 1990 I was a 13 year old high school freshman. Hammer pants, spandex bike short sets, and teased bangs. No pictures, thank goodness! 🙂 Love that you have a Sphinx in the pic! My friend’s Sphinx Rajah passed from skin cancer a couple of months ago, I really miss him.
I have the worst luck with undereye concealers — everything either looks cakey or slides around my face, & NOTHING conceals my circles. 🙁
I was still in preschool during 1990 🙂
9 minutes too late
I absolutely love Sephora. This gift card would totally make my holiday since right now I am B.O.B. (Ballin’ on a budget).
just came into the world in 1990! 😀
Great prize!
Do you need a separate bronzer brush? I use the blush brush I got from a sephora brush set a while back.
1990 omg I was nine years old had big teased hair and wearing a lot of neon clothes with matching socks & scrunchies oh yeah can’t forget wearing my keds.
Great giveaway thank you so much!!! Love Sephora!
We had the most amazing Halloween brunch yesterday.
Thank you my friends!
Great giveaway!
I was born in ’91, but I was chilling as a fetus for a good chunk of ’90!
Its my birthday tomorrow and my sister got me Remington Amaze airstyler so my hair will be big from now on! It has 5different styling thingies so you can make your hair different every day of the week:)
Circa 1990 I was 4! I don’t have much more to say about that. Though circa 2000 I was 14 and all I have to say about that was I used about a bottle a day of hair gel! Thanks for this awesome giveaway every weekend!
In 1990 I was entering Kindergarten, gees! My favorite foundation is actually a BB cream(Missha Perfect Cover)! This giveaway is Amazing, I always see it but never enter because I can’t imagine I’d win! Haha thanks for the opportunity though! 🙂
In 1990, i was 8 yrs old. The good ol’ days of being a kid with no worries.
1990…Let’s see…
I was 5 years old, so I guess I was playing with My Little Ponies, or eating overcooked pasta with butter (I was a picky eater).
you were right. i wasn’t born yet. LOL.
I was watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1990, LOL! For concealer not to look cakey on me the first thing I do (after sunscreen) is put a little eye moisturizer (Clinique Repairwear Intensive eye cream or Clinique All About Eyes) wait a few minutes, then put the concealer of choice on (these days it’s Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray.) Voila! No cakey under-eye makeup.
I can’t remember the name of the bronzer brush I use but it’s the 2nd biggest gold brush by Real Techniques.
Thanks so much for having this giveaway!
In 1990 I was being a bridesmaid to my cousin in a fetching peach get-up and I was glued to the World Cup in Italy that summer.
Ciao Karen! I’m at home, in Italy (near Como), it’s sunday, it’s cold and raining and I have to work for the most boring project that the Earth has never ever seen… at least I have your giveaway to feel a little bit lucky 😀 thanks for the chance!
Un bacio a te e Tabs!
I would have loved to have seen Kelly Clarkson in concert! It sounds amazing.
If you find a full (or medium) coverage foundation that works for dry flaky skin, please post about it! I have a weird skin situation and I need some coverage, but some foundations not only highlight dry patches, they dry them out more and make my face itch 😛
I have been loving Taylor Swift’s RED album! Everyone should definitely listen to ‘Red’ and ‘Everything Has Changed’. They are my fave songs!
My skin is dry, and I love Bobbi Brown for foundation. I just use the stick where I need more coverage.
Hi! Last week I saw Argo in theaters–such a great movie!
I spent 3 hours at a sephora store yesterday…oops!!
Yeay for the contest! Good luck all!
In 1990, I was 7 years old. I would probably have been on a massive post-Halloween sugar high.
1990 – living in San José-CA
I wasn’t born in 1990 🙂
In 1990, I was chilling out in kindergarten, watching cartoons, learning how to read!
In 1990 I was 8, so I guess I was sitting in 3rd grade. Oh and my sister had just been born, goodbye being an only child.
So cold here!
As some other comments have pointed out, neon was BIG in 1990. And I was wearing it.
For bronzer brushes – can sometimes depend on the bronzer. If I’m using my regular TF Milk Chocolate Soleil, I use a fluffy brush I got from Walmart – their HD brushes are awesome but can be hard to find. If I’m using my PF Happy Booster bronzer, I use the EcoTools Finishing Kabuki (this is great for bronzer, all over powder, or finishing powder).
During 90, i’m not born yet. I always love sephora cosmetics , especially M.A.C and bobbi brown
In 1990, I was a freshman in high school…wow, I feel OLD!
In 1990 I was about to graduate college, completely unsure of what I was going to do when I “grew up”!
Stressed…!!!! Need chocolate & makeup.
I use the EcoTools bronzer brush, which I luuuuuurve so much. Although I don’t actually wear bronzer much, so mostly I use it for highlighters. So fluffy!
In 1990, I was 9 and had the worst hair ever! It was a mullet of sorts, but worse – my mom had the top part permed so it looked like a poodle, then the back had my natural waves! UGH!!!
1990? wasn’t born yet!!!
I got curly as all get out hair, so big hair is *all* I do, yo. 😛 Thanks for the contest!
I am currently using Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles (just realized what a mouthful that was) and am really loving it!
I just started wearing contacts in lieu of glasses, and it’s weird to me that I feel like I need to wear less makeup to avoid looking “over done” with glasses, I always used more. Now I’m having to tone things down…
If I won I would use it to get the UD Naked palette, Tarte blush or to get a Christmas gift!
1990 I was in high school 🙂
i use maybelline bb cream for a light foundation coverage and love it ♥
I think the Sephora VIB Friends and Family sale is coming up. Whoever wins the gift card will totally hit the jackpot!
Been loving MAC Scarlet Ibis lately -such a gorgeous red! Love your blog!
Can’t wait till the power is back and I can stop imposing on relatives/friends with electricity.
I was navigating the 8th grade scene.. and dancing to Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation – pretty sure it came out then…
Hi Karen, I had a great day yesterday. I ran my first 5k race, The Color Run. It was so much fun. Basically you run the course and every kilometer was a color station where they throw colored powder at you so in the end you look like something out of Willy Wonka’s factory! Definitely doing this again next year!
Still looking for the perfect bronzer brush!
Come on probability!
In 1990 I was 10 and decided I wanted a perm… A “body wave,” to be specific. Oh, the horror!
Wow, 1990. I was a big-toothed 10 year old who had just gotten a particularly nerdy pair of glasses. I’ve still got kinds big teeth, but my glasses (and contacts) have vastly improved.
need a new bb cream!
Benefit’s Erase Paste is my favorite full-coverage undereye concealer. It can look cakey if you aren’t careful, or put too much of it on, but when it’s applied right, it looks great and really covers up undereye circles!
I haven’t found a good concealer as yet 🙁
In 1990, I was 4 years old; so probably being an super cool kid about town. 😉
In 1990 I was six years old and OBSESSED with Michael Jackson.
I haven’t found the perfect under eye concealer yet; but Kat Von D tattoo concealer is pretty good for under eyes.
I honestly would LOVE to shop at a Sephora run by cats.
In 1990 I was 5 years old and rocking the heck out of my stirrup pants.
I was ten. And in fourth grade. So being picked on by the teachers daughter aka bully that tried to get under my skin for years.
After having gone through two naked palettes, I’ve finally caved–I really want to try the naked 2! I’m still doubtful it’ll beat the original but I’m so late to the bandwagon and Perversion would be a huge addition to my serious lack of intense black shadows. Here’s to hoping this gift card can cover the cost 🙂
I use real technique brush for my bronzer =D
I am reading your blog with a little red and white cat snuggled up to my left arm. 🙂
1990 I was 9. I was probably rockin’ a perm and some sort of shirt with a cat on it.
I’m visiting my cousin in San Francisco this weekend and having a blast!
Gt a clip less curling iron the other day. It’s so much easier to use! Finally I can make my pin straight Asian hair curly 🙂
Hmmm, in 1990, I was six years old and extremely awkward. And probably bugging our cat!
Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lipgloss in Candybar– Beautiful colour, smells amazing. If you haven’t already, check it out! High fives for Karen! 🙂
I was 5 in 1990… Ahh the sweet days of childhood!!
I use my small MAC blush brush to apply bronzer.
I use my small blush brush to apply bronzer.
I like peanut butter.
Having a relaxing Sunday 🙂
In 1990, I was just discovering the world of Disney 🙂
I had big curly hair (which I fluffed out with a pick!!!), big shoulder pads, big oversized sweaters… ugh!
In 1990 I was getting ready to become a big sister for the first time. Pretty exciting stuff!
Hi Karen! Happy Sunday and thank you for this awesome giveaway!
Would love love love to get the Naked Palette if I win!
I really like mac’s moisture cover for under my eyes it never cakes up so thats great! 😀 thanks for another giveaway karen!
Maybelline 24 hr tattoos eyeshadow are great primer/base, I wore one of them for 16 hrs and I was amazed at how my Wetn Wild eyeshadow look held up over it.
In 1990, I was in kindergarten!
Love any Laura Mercier foundations for my dry skin! Really want to try the silk creme foundation next.
http://www.grumpycats.com
I thought you would appreciate this blog as a fellow crazy cat lady (:
I was a junior in 1990, working at Jack In The Box!
In 1990, i wasnt even born yet since im a 93 baby. But looking back i think the fashion was so funny, but then again i guess that people will always look back thinking fashion of the time is funny
In 1990 I was finishing high school and starting college. Seems like eons ago.
Ah 1990 – I think I was just finishing 8th grade that year!
1990-times of good memories, was in my 5th grade. Mac studio sculpt is good for dry skin i think.
If I’m honest, in 1990 I was three years old but I know my love affair with makeup had already begun. Now I’m 24 and I have to watch out for my rescue pitbull Margo, because she too loves makeup, at least she very much loves to eat it. Margo’s particular favorites include bare mineral brushes and eyeshadow palettes. I thouhgt naming her Margo would inspire her to be more of a lady but so far it’s only inspired her to eat all my lipgloss, and red is not her color…
In 1990-…I wasn’t born yet so I’m not sure what I was doing at the time haha.
Awww…I would totally bring my cats with me to sephora. But they’re boys so I’m not sure how it’ll work ahhaha
Sunday night already?
In 1990, I was two years old and living in the U.A.E. with my parents.
1990? I would have been around ten years old. Very depressed and had attempted suicide the year prior. Wow that is a really bummer thing to post haha! I am happy now. 🙂
In 1990 I was born 🙂
I love halo-halo!
In 1990, I wasn’t born yet. It would be a few more years until I finally decided to make an appearance.
hate this time change – all mixed up
1990 i was being conceived 😉
wanna win rly badly
thnkkks
In 1990 I believe I had just gotten my first pair of huge and horrible glasses. They were awful. Just awful.
Big hair is a no-no for me, and I’m looking for a good concealer too!
I was only 2 years old in 1990 so I have no recollection of what I was up to… probably a lot of crying.
LOVE giorgio armani concealer – their makeup is made for photographing, so it’s got great coverage and a great finish. I just ordered the maestro concealer – can’t wait!
i <3 sephora! I love pink nail polish and purple.
For bronzer I like to use my Quo bronzer brush or my MAC 109 brush. Lately my skin has been really dry and very flaky. This is because I’m using clindoxyl gel. Well I stopped using it because I couldn’t handle how tight my skin got. So I used it for four nights and my skin is still flaking a week later. I can’t wear makeup because it looks so terrible. Does anyone know what to do in this situation? I drink lots of water and moisturize but I would like to speed up the healing process.
In 1990 I was 6 years old and really into Alf and Hello Kitty
I waste time at work filling my online Sephora cart. I never have enough money to buy it. There’s currently about $350 worth of stuff in there. Help me make my dream cart a reality!
In 1990 I was 14, starting high school, getting braces put on, and thinking I would soon outgrow my acne.
Now I’m 36 and while my teeth are straight my acne is worse than ever. I can’t believe I’m still dealing with this blotchy, pimply, pore-clogged skin while also trying to treat wrinkles and hide gray hairs.
A Sephora spree would make me feel SO much better…
Sephora dreamland. I could spend days in there. 🙂
Glad for the extra hour. But, weekend has gone by so quickly.
Hi Karen, I have been loving your website for so long and your awesome giveaways. You have def. inspired me to follow my blogging hobby, as well as brighten up my day! Would love to win the Sephora gift card
I use this old school Stila Bronzer brush to apply my bronzer. It is a retractable brush and it isn’t that great but when I bought it years ago, I thought $30 was a lot of money for a brush and always seems to go back to it!
400th comment! Exciting!
I do love big hair, in fact I’m considering trying out a beehive!
In 1990 I was not born yet :/ BUT three years later I made my entrance in to this world! 🙂 I don’t remember it, but I bet it was fantastic.
In 1990 I was a Lieutenant junior grade in the Navy assigned to VRC-50 at Cubi Point, RP. Late in the year I transferred to Surface Warfare Officer School in preparation to being assigned to a ship. Fun times! I loved the ship stuff but still miss the Philippines. Gorgeous place with reallly nice people and good food. 🙂
I don’t think my hair can do anything but big, LOL. It’s very thick and extremely curly, so I’ve had to learn to embrace big hair.
In 1990 I was in preschool – I always got in trouble for not wanting to take naps. I would always insist that I wanted to read instead. The teachers thought I was lying about knowing how to read and called my mom to tell her I was being bad, but she got mad at them because I did know how to read! After that, I got to read quietly while everyone else had to take naps. Come to think of it, I still often find myself reading instead of sleeping…
In 1990, I was a bun in the oven!
I love that picture though!!
I was in high school in 1990 wearing my MAC Dubonnet and Aqua Net.
In 1990 I gave birth to my first child, my beautiful daughter. Whew boy does that make me feel old, & today just happens to be my birthday too!
In 1990 I gave birth to my first child, my beautiful daughter. Whew boy does that make me feel old, & today just happens to be my birthday too!
I tweeted too, I’m iowagirl301 on Twitter.
I just got a new cat. Sadly I think I might be allergic to her 🙁
I use my elf blush brush for bronzer
In 1990 I was in high school not sure what to do next.
Finally got our power back here on the east coast. Sandy did quite a damage here everywhere. Lots of people are without power. So thankful to have hot water, heat and running refrigerator.
Im craving pumpkin cupcakes and chai tea. I also want to get my hands on the lorac pro pallette from sephora
Hmmm what to say… I looove sephora. I think I would buy the LORAC pro palette if I won. In 1990 I was in junior high and it was all about big bangs. The bigger the better. Ha! Good times. I wonder if the fashions I wear today will age as poorly?
In 1990 I would’ve been 4 years old and in kindergarten 🙂
I went to Sephora today and tested out all the new holiday palettes. So many great choices for gifts!! I ended up taking home Nars Glow Foundation for me and the Buxom lip gloss set for my bestie.. Thanks for all your reviews Karen, you help me out with makeup tips all the time.
Well, today i spent the day doing my mom’s makeup, cleaning my makeup brushes with the Sonia Kashuk brush and sponge cleaner i bought today, and watching sappy romantic/romantic-comedy movies while i made mixtapes for my friends…you know the kind people in movies make for the person they have a crush and what not. I didn’t have cassette tapes so i put it on a cd. one of the songs on the mixtapes is Thirteen by Big Star. It makes me happy. But in 1990, i wasn’t thought of til 5 years later, which makes me 17 now. I enjoy makeup, a lot. However, I go barefaced to school because i enjoy the extra 10 minutes of sleep. I like frosted sugar cookies and have eaten too many chocolate chip cookies that i don’t enjoy them anymore. I really like mashed potates and gravy with honey smoked ham on the side, which make me happy that thanksgiving is going to come around and that i get to watch christmas specials. I was wonder woman for halloween. I made the costume the day of with my mom. she’s awesome.
oh and i just realized i’m a year too young, but i hope you enjoyed my story anyway.
In 1990, I was singing Disney tunes!
I dont use a bronzer . . . 1990 . . . Was in elementary school. Memorable days coz’I was a very sick girl back then.
I really wanted to win! My birthday is on the 16th, and I am turning 20. 🙂 I need to learn how to do make-up! Waaahhh…. Time flies so fast.
A concealer that doesn’t cake up? That’s an urban legend.
In 1990 I was in kindergarten–and blonde, which is strange to think about now. My hair turned dark brown!
And I use a big fluffy Sonia Kashuk powder brush for bronzer.
sal;dfhasdf
Thanks Karen! Love the blog and the kittie!!
in 1990, I was busy being born!
Mai recently posted … Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Siren: Swatch, Review, and Photos
This semester has been so hectic! Can NOT wait for christmas break!
I love Tabs 🙂
In 1990, I was learning the art of crawling and walking. Ahh yes, good times.
Awesome long weekend spent with family! Hope you guys had a good one, too!
That was when my baby cousin was born and I learned that milk came from boobs… Lol
I really like theBalm concealer for the under eye area.
Thinking of people doing big hair in 1990 & me only being 2 during that year makes me feel really young lol thanks :))
I was just born in 1990 (:
In 1990, I was a sophomore in high school. After reading your post about your concert… It brought bacK memories when I ran into new kids on the block at a mal!!
1990 first year in high school.
I was born in 1994 🙂
I was born at the end of 1990!
I actually don’t wear bronzer so I don’t know what brush I would use!
I love big hair for costumes, but most of the time I spend my days in ponytails. But when I do want big hair, I flip my hair upside-down and blow dry it that way… then I come up looking like Barbarella!
1 year old 🙂
