I can say with 100% certainty that the chances of you catching me without my brows filled in are slim to none. I never leave home without them…groomed. 🙂

The very thought of walking around town with wild brows sends shivers down my spine! Okay…maybe not shivers, but you get the idea. I’d no sooner forget my purse on a park bench than forget to tend to my brows. Even when I’m just leaving for a quick walk around the neighborhood with Tabs, my brows are always did.

Does my obsession sound familiar? Do you browbeat your brows fret about your brows too? If you feel like yours could use a little babying, maybe today’s giveaway can help. The prize is three (3) of my tried-and-true Benefit Brow favorites (a prize package worth $78).

  • Instant Brow Pencil — Brows treated to this pencil look great in pictures. Get soft, natural-looking brows in less than a minute.
  • High Brown Lifting Pencil — For adding definition and lift to your brow arch, which really opens up the eyes.
  • Brows A-Go-Go — A go-to product for makeup looks that call for strong, early ’80s Brooke Shields brows.

I’m waiting for my brows to grow out, and I’m hoping to get them shaped to where I want them, so that way I simply only have to define them with a matte taupe shadow, instead of basically creating a brow with a brownish taupe pencil! I’ve always wanted to try Benefit’s brow products!

The first time I had my eyebrows waxed was when I was eleven years old. Now that I think about it, I’m surprised my mother asked me if I even wanted to do them. I was so young o_o Anyways, it hurt SO MUCH, and I cried. It’s been 8 years, and the woman who does my eyebrows still remembers – despite there having been a seven year gap from when I first waxed and when I saw her again.

i definitely don’t take care of my brows like i should…but waxing hasn’t been good for my skin. and the small town i’m in probably doesn’t have anyone who can do threading. and everything made by Benefit just doesn’t fit into a grad student’s budget 🙁

i just love em natural and thick, kinda the ‘strong eyebrows’ look 🙂 after years of tweezing and the occasional waxing, i shortly learned how to thread my own eyebrows (or any facial hair for that matter) and i love it 🙂
when filling in my brows i really have to be careful with the color – my hair is quite dark, but just right now i’m maybe a bit too pale for my liking, normally i’m a NC 25 – too dark (as dark as my hair) looks too hard on me, so i have to use a medium kind of brown 🙂 i think the colors in the benefit kits would be just right for me 🙂 not too dark and not too light, and i can mix them too 🙂

I have the most sparse, lightly colored brows ever. It’s something nearly every woman on my grandfather’s side of the family has. Every day since I was 13 I’ve drawn them on, brushed them with powder, etc. I have dark brown hair, so my very light brow hair is very weird looking, almost alien like, with nothing else on them. The good news is that I’ve gotten very good at faking it.

Well, brows have always been a huuuuge concern for me. I have really thick brows and I even had a unibrow, so I’ve been getting it waxed since I was 12. At least I don’t have to fill them in :D. Well, I have had a mishap with them… because my eyebrows gron in a way and the are so thick that the ‘golden rule’ (that the perfect eyebrow starts at the corner of your eyes) doesn’t apply to them, because that way they look so overly plucked. So I went to my beauty parlour, and only a beginner comsetitian could do my eyebrows… and even through I told her not to wax it too much, she did. Wow, it looked creepy. My brows looked really short and my nose looked so big… and the worst thing is that that part of my eyebrows haven’t grown back as thivk as I’d like them to be :(…

I have always waxed my eyebrows which has always left me red and swollen at least 1-2 days after but since I have discovered Threading (which they do at my local mall) I have not gone back to waxing. It’s painless and I am not red or swollen after. It also lasts a lot longer then waxing. I can go at least 6 weeks without even stubble.

I couldn’t agree with you more Karen. Even if I’m going to pick up one thing from the grocery store, I have to put my eyebrows on .

True story, last year I had three surgeries because of congenital kidney defects I have. We had to travel three hours to a University hospital here in Florida for the surgery. I insisted my husband stop on the way to the hospital at a MAC counter so I could get my brow pencil. Despite strict instructions not to have a speck of anything on in the operating room I still did my eyebrows. My hubby took some post-op pics of us together and I look like death warmed over except for my brows!! 🙂

But when I got to be 18 I started to grow them back in and haven’t let anyone else but me and my tweezers touch them since. So many times I’d go to get them waxed or threaded and they would rip them all out. Such a tragedy! I wish I would have loved them sooner! Now they are my pride and joy!

I recently found out how to shape my brows myself and I love doing it! If I’m looking a little nicer, then I fill them in, and I’d love to have something nicer to do that with! My tip for brows everyday (and I’ve been doing this since high school), is to brush them straight with a toothbrush..obviously not the one for my teeth. I just use a very simple toothbrush and it combs them all in one way nicely!

I never really cared about my brows (or makeup of any kind, really) until I hit college. I take after my mother– sparse but scraggly & dark brows– and she never bothered with shaping them so I never learned to do it until a friend showed me how she did her makeup and I was blown away by the transformation. Now I HATE to leave the house w/o plucked & filled-in eyebrows.

When I was a kid my brows were so light that they were basically nonexistent, I just started paying attention to them because I got a new drivers license and I realized they didn’t show up in my picture! Now I use the NYX brow wax pencil and brown eyeshadow but it would be nice to have something simple and easy like a pencil to fill them in

It used to make my glasses look like they sit crooked. They aren’t the shape I want but wit the help of a threading specialist, they now sit the same level! My biggest mistake was years ago when I was a teenager. Now I had this great idea to take an actual razor and just shave off the extra bits of brow I didn’t want. This suprisingly worked out well for the first 3 times. The 4th left me with a sad looking eyebrow on the left and a perfect brow on the right!! I skipped homecoming because it was so bad! LOL

I’ve went from skinny to thick brows. I let them all grow in last month. I have to figure out what to do with them. Thank you.

I first got my brows shaped when I was in India. I was 16 and we went to a salon where they did threading. Just recently, I’ve discovered a place at my local mall tha tdoes threading and I’ve gone back to that instead of tweezing.

I used to dye my hair crazy colors, and I did it at home. A friend was helping me dye my hair pink, and she dripped pink dye on the center of my eyebrow. Neither of us noticed for about ten minutes, so I ended up with the middle of my eyebrow bright pink!

I just started getting into taking care of my brows. Luckily, they have nice natural shape…but they are pretty light. I remember when I was little I thought my brows needed to be darker, so I grabbed a dark brown eyeliner and filled them in. I looked like a monster! It was a long time before I played with my brows again lol.

I started getting my eyebrows threaded in high school. I think that you can wear as much make up and have the greatest hair styles BUT if your eyebrows aren’t done, it’s a lost cause. A great brow can really make the difference in your appearance. It can take you from frumpy to a perfect 10 in seconds.

I never paid any attention to my brows when I was young. They were thick and lovely. As I got older I over plucked them and they didn’t all grow back(might be partly genetic). Now I need to put “on” my brows before I go out. Always looking for a new product to try.

So, after the highest point of the eyebrow I barely got brow hair left, that’s why I’m filling it with eyeshadows. I really need this kit to make the eyebrows look better.

My brows are very light and sometimes its hard to see my brows from far away. It looks funny when I see it up close so I had to draw them whenever I need to look nice and presentable. I think my ideal brow would be to have it look suitable for my face structure because I have a round face. It would be a plus if somehow my brows can help my face look slimmer. hehe

I just tweeze my brows and cut them with nail scissors a little bit. I do not fill them in on everyday basis, because I do not wear makeup every day, but when I am doing a makeup look I usually use matte brown eyeshadow to make them stand out more. I also comb them through lightly with makeup brush.

I’d probably say I’m browbsessed. I make sure my brows are well-groomed every morning because brows are just as important to your face as your nose, eyes, or lips. A face without well-groomed brows is like a good picture with a bad frame; it just ruins the look. I originally started taking care of them after a rude boy in my class made a snide comment about how unruly they were, so I began plucking, trimming, and waxing, experimenting with different shapes. I’m happy to say, though, I think I’ve finally got them exactly right. 😀

I tend to not go & get my brows waxed, threaded, what-have-you. On my left brow I have a bare spot that hair does not grow….never has. It’s a teeny tiny spot but EVERY TIME I go see someone they make a comment about how I must have over tweezed that spot or they put a mirror up to my face & ask if I am aware that is there. It is so annoying & obnoxious that I can’t go anymore…otherwise I would be tempted to wax their mouths closed or stab them with the tweezers. & I like to think of myself as non-violent. Lol. 🙂

I started plucking when I was 17 (26 now) and became obsessed and wanting to pluck every day. I’d get so mad when I couldn’t access a really short hair. I was told to never touch the tops of my brows so I didn’t, but I did over pluck the bottoms. I had this image of hockey sticks in my mind when I plucked. They ended up having that tadpole shape. I thought they looked good at the time. lol, they really don’t work for anyone and my round face especially. I’m really going for that full look now. I’ve never gotten them professionally done, but I’m excited about the free Benefit brow grooming for my birthday!

Oh man, i have the worst time with brows!! I, unfortunately, got my mother’s eyebrows; which means unless they are plucked and waxed with no mercy I look like bert. On top of that, I was bitten in the face by a dog and have a scar through my right brow. Thus, until I recently found my brow goddess, if I had anyone else do my brows they were lopsided. Ugh brows. *insert eye roll*

When I was 12 I had caterpillar brows and the beginnings of a monobrow – I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup or shave my legs, but I was so determined to pluck my brows I spent hours using my fingernails as makeshift tweezers. Eventually my parents relented and bought me a pair, thank god! I then went through a horrible phase where I had pencil brows… I’ve finally got the thickness just right after all these years.

I’d seen girls do it, but it had never occurred to me to try until I was browsing the products at a pharmacy one day and saw an already cheap eyebrow kit marked down further. It has come so far and it still is a winning product in my book! I use the brow zings in light or MAC’s Cork eyeshadow on my brows with MAC’s #263 brush. I opt for a fuller brow look with a defined arch because I feel that brows make a girl’s whole look come together. =) As always, thanks for the review!

My brows have always been thick and I’ve always meant to get them done, but didn’t know when was appropriate and everyone has suggested I get them threaded for many years now. So I finally got the courage to get them done before graduation last year and I loved getting it done so much, I started going frequently, probably once a month if I feel like it! But I definitely hate it when my brows grow back!

I have been a disaster with my brows till very recently, my best friend works in a spa where she has learnt the Indian thread technique to design the eyebrows and this has changed my face forever.
Now, for the first time I pay a lot of attention to brows and the way people groomed them.
I have not bought specific products for brows so far, so this could be my perfect giveaway!

I did have a major brow mishap that has effected me for years…
About 6-7 years ago I tripped and got a big ol’ slash above my right brow. They didn’t want to give me a scar through my brow with stitches so they used those liquid stitches that come off about 2 weeks later.
It did come off 2 weeks later; while I was sleeping, and it completely ripped out half my eyebrow!!!
To this day it has never completely regrown and where it did it’s sparse & patchy.
So I too never leave the house without filling in my brows!

Good collored and shaped brows make such a difference to a face! My brows are lighter than my (natural) hair collor, and I’m a blonde… so I dye my eyebrows every six weeks or so.. but it’s always a bit tricky, I have to watch out they aren’t too dark (which has happened to me).

The makeup artist started filling in my brows and (after I asked her) told me it was because my brows were a little thin, this could make them look more structured, and that I should let them grow in. She was right – they looked great! Now I don’t leave the house without my brows done, EVER haha!

I started grooming my brows in high school, but I took them a little too thin, and since they’re sparse anyway, they disappear on the sides. Add the fact that I have trouble finding the right shade of brow color (that will also stay all day/night) and they just don’t look so hot. 🙁

So right now I’m letting them go so that I can re-groom them in a better shape. They look really messy, but I’m fighting the urge to clean them up much. It’s gonna be a tough few months, but I hope it’s worth the end result!

I love love love brow products!! My hairs are super thin, so they definitely need the extra something to make them stand out!!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
