Sundays with Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 57

October 11th, 2009 by Karen 23 Comments

On the cover of Tabbies' Home Journal

Gah! I’m not ready for Monday, ladies, and neither is Tabs. Instead of having fun at the movies, I wasted spent the better part of the afternoon at Target, wracking my brain over toilet paper roll holders and bath mats.

Tabs must have been waiting for me to return home because he was sitting in the hallway staring up at the door when I opened it. There was a word spelled out on the floor in kitty litter. It said, “haunted.”

I think he thinks the washing machine is alive. Every time it turns on he darn near has a heart attack.

Target Soap & GloryWhile I was at Target I stumbled upon those Soap & Glory beauty products they’ve had for a while. I still haven’t given ’em a try. Have you? I think the packaging’s pretty cute. It reminds me of Benefit, but a reader mentioned to me that the person who created Bliss also made Soap & Glory. Interesting…

How was your weekend?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I am a sucker for packaging that has a cheeky vintage feel to it. I hope you like the product as much as the packaging. This Monday ain’t so bad it is the Canadian Thanksgiving. As for celebrations it is pretty much the same with Americans, turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, except that our Thanksgiving is way earlier and it is probably not as big as a production as American Thanksgiving. I think it also depends on the family also, some families don’t celebrate at all. I planned to pig out on lots of pumpkin pie and pumpkin ice cream!

I have Scrub Your Nose In It, which is a scrub that doubles as a mask. It has a minty scent and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean.

“Sexy mother pucker” is such a cute name for their lip gloss! I would buy probably buy it just because of that fact, and then hope someone would ask me for the name of it 😛 . I’d have waaay to much fun with it.

    Karen,
As a lover of all things pink I love Soap and Glory! The bath pouf is a must have and so is their “Calm One Calm All” bubble bath.
Whilst at Target you should also check out a brand called Method. They make earth friendly house cleaning prouducts and handsoaps. Plus the bottles are cool looking too.

I have a love/hate relationship with Soap & Glory… Here in Canada, you can’t get the full line of products (-1). I waited three months to get my hands their “Sexy Mother Pucker” and I absolutely HATED it (-1). I loved their bath loofa though! Soooo soft on the skin but takes a lot of water to get all the suds out & more soap to get the loofa all bubbly(-1). I hate the smell of most of the Soap & Glory products too. The lip plumper they carry has a horrid chocolate-y smell & while I love chocolate.. I hate it in my beauty products. And all of the creams that are available where I am, I’m not fond of the scents either. I really wish I could see the whole entire line of products but even at the Target closest to me, only has few items and never the ones I’m looking forward to!
I hear the Flake Away body scrub is SUPER though!

So far I’ve tried Soap & Glory’s Sexy MotherPucker lip plumper (in clear), and the Flake Away body scrub. The lip plumper has the weirdest feel of all the plumpers I’ve tried – it’s like your lips are vibrating! Unfortunately, it doesn’t really do much for plumping my lips. I do like it as a gloss though, and will probably try the other shades eventually. The body scrub is fantastic – it leaves skin super smooth, and it’s highly scented (nice smell!). I find I can smell it on my skin for the rest of the day.

The Soap and Glory skincare was one of the first things I reviewed on You Tube and my beauty blog. I wasn’t impressed, but I think its stupidly hard to impress me! LOL

Hope you’re having a good Monday!

yeah, we have turkey, stuffing, etc… just… no parades and no football. canadian thanksgiving has nothing to do with indians or pilgrims, either.

so i guess the only thing we have in common are turkey! lol

      Hi Gen,

That sounds good to me. I love any holiday where eating is the major focus (which is why I own several pairs of stretchy pants).

I really like what I’ve tried from Soap and Glory (and yes the packaging is adorable!) I have the Clean on Me body wash and I love the smell, its very light (light enough that hubby will use it too) and is very gentle and moisturizing. I also have the sugar scrub, which I also really like…it smells a lot like margaritas!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
