I know you’ve been waiting on pins and needles to read the second part of Tabs’ hit graphic novel, Legacy. I know I have, because even I don’t have access to the drafts. Everything is kept under wraps, and very few cats or people get to see the work in progress.
Anyway, I’ve been busy trying to soothe Tabs all weekend long, hand-feeding him his favorite Purina Pro Plan Cat food (Focus) and preparing gravy on demand, because he’s been in extra diva mode. Gone Girl, that move starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, just came out, and it’s a bit of a sore subject.
You didn’t hear it from me; you read it in US Cat Weekly or someplace else, but when they were casting for the movie, there was a role for a cat. Ben Affleck’s character’s cat, and Tabs was up for it.
He auditioned and auditioned and auditioned, and he actually made it to the end. It was down to him and an orange tabby named Klaus, who’s quickly climbing the kitty modeling/acting ranks, but eventually Klaus won the role because, according to the director, “He had the right silhouette.”
Oh, well… You know what they say: when one cat door closes, another one opens. 🙂
The fact that Tabs didn’t get the role actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it gave him more time to work on his graphic novel.
And here it is! — Legacy. Part one followed by part two.

Your kitty, Tabs, looks so much like my Kitty, The Baron! Such pretty cats!
Karen says
The Baron. Is that really his name? I hope so because it’s awesome. 🙂
Aren’t tabbies the best?
Sylirael says
THE SUSPENSE! OMG! I CAN’T STAND IT! What will Choupette try next! Will Karen be OK? Will they make it through to the perfect formula?!?!
😀
Awesome as always, Karen & Tabs.
Karen says
Good morrow, my lady! You are most kind. 🙂 I don’t know what’s going to happen either. Tabs doesn’t tell me anything.
BTW, I love your blog, Sylirael. The theme, your writing voice, the miniatures. It makes me smile every time.
Have a good week! Your nephew says mrow!
Sylirael says
O_o Karen, you’re so kind! I’m honoured that you, the queen of creative and funny blogs, think well of my little slice of the interwebs <3
*salute to Tabs* I think I saw a posting for a quest seeking a magical, enchanted can of gravy. If I can, I shall seek it out for you, sir!

omg cliffhanger! Choupette is such a villainess.
This is so cool btw, good job!
Karen says
Thank you, sarahc. We’re glad you like it!
Chelsea says
OMG, I hope Karen is okay! Can’t wait for the next installment! That darn Choupette!
Karen says
Me too! 🙂
Choupette is all sugar and spice on the outside. Everyone thinks she’s the cat’s meow, but inside that fluffy exterior lives a cold, calculating villainess…
Kim says
Choupette! Does your evil know no bounds? What’s next – the ankle scratching torture? Have mercy! 🙂
Karen says
I will answer on Choupette’s behalf (spoken in a bad French accent). “No, it is much worse than the ankle scratching torture. MUCH worse, indeed…”

I love the comic! You – I mean TABS – is so wonderfully creative!! He’s lucky to have you as his assistant – I mean, you’re lucky to be HIS assistant! ;D
Karen says
Hi kelly,
Thank you. I do feel very lucky to assist for such an intrepid, brilliant, gorgeous tabby. 🙂
Do you assist for any cats?
kellly says
Ha ha ha, no. I have two shelter DOGS, tho.

My husband loves these. I always share Tabs posts with him. We have several cats ourselves, they of course have jobs and adventures. Our cats are not nearly as famous, or talented as Tabs.

“Our cats are not nearly as famous, or talented as Tabs.”
Maybe they are, but maybe they do most of their modeling work at night. Until we got security cameras, we had no idea what Tabs got up to at night.
Some nights he goes crazy! He’ll stalk his reflection in the windows, run full-speed circuits around the house, scratch his cat tower and play with his toys. He puts in a full day of kitty work while El Hub and I are asleep. 🙂

One of our cats bought a big dairy ranch. He employs homeless kittens and cats, they work as Milkers, Milker 2 & various other jobs around the ranch. They also have a taxi cab service for cats only, of course the drivers are also cats. So if you ever see a Prius taxi being driven by a cat, you know why! Haha. I have to make sure there is plenty of wet and crunchies when they have a business meeting here at home. They get really demanding when they talk business!

HA! I came for the make-up (a while ago. sorry, I lurk) and stayed because I love your zany sense of humor. Keep going, Tabs! rescue your pet human!

He looks so cute staring at the bag of food.
Wow, what a nice comic idea! I love it 😀 I can’t wait to see what happens next :)) great choice of pics.
