Good morning, my sweet! Happy Saturday. 😊
Crazy cat lady moment: aren’t these the cutest CCL socks? They’re a Valentine’s Day gift from El Hub, and I gotta say, when he gets it right, he *REALLY* gets it right.
I’m pretty sure Tabs briefly dated the kitty model on these socks…
So, don’t laugh, but I’m heading to Target in a few because I’m in the mood for a pale pastel pink polish, so I’m thinking either Buns Up or Crop Top and Roll from the Essie Expressie line will do the trick.
I might be a little obsessed. 🙀
While I contemplate the life-changing nature of quick-drying nail polish, you can catch up on your reading for the week.

Oh, and let me know what you think of the last video (the Sigrid song). I’m getting Adele vibes from it.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Aww! Those socks are really great! Hope you and El Hubs had a sweet day yesterday. Any fancy plans for this weekend?
Hi! Unfortunately, no, because El Hub caught a cold and now Coy-Coy has a runny nose. I *did* manage to do a Target run and snagged a bottle of polish (I got Crop Top and Roll), so that’s probably the fanciest thing I’m going to do.
What did you guys do for Valentine’s? Is the hubs around or is he traveling?
Oh no! Hope El Hub and Coywolf are feeling better soon. Hope you don’t catch it either.
We went to LA from Wed to Fri. Had some time together down there. Dear Husband got on a plane to Japan (again) this morning. Fourth trip in four months.
She threw up at midnight. 🙁 I was up with her for half the night, but she’s feeling better now, which is good.
What did you guys do in LA?
P.S. Tell that man of yours to get you some more brushes while he’s in Japan! 🙂
Oh I’m so sorry Coywolf threw up. I think that’s just the worst part of parenting. I could deal with everything else. But throw up was the hardest part for me. I hope she starts to feel much better.
We went to art museums and drove around and ate. I climbed all over the Frank Gehry Disney Concert Hall. It’s like one ginormous sculpture in DTLA. Got to go into Yayoi Kusama’s Mirrored Infinity Room at The Broad museum. It was cool! Of course for Dear Husband we walked through Hancock Park because that’s where La Brea Tar pits are. And Oh! We had ice cream at Wanderlust Creamery in Venice before heading to the airport. Dear Husband said if we missed our flight back because we stopped for ice cream and traffic was sooooo bad, it was worth it. Lol.
No more brushes! Lol. I have a ton and every time I look I want more, but don’t really NEED them. I’ll probably have him bring back even more types of sunscreen. Can’t have too much sunscreen when you’re as pale as I am. The one I wore in LA gave me a rash.
Hope you’re all feeling 100% soon.
Well that sounds like a dreamy trip! Those low-key ones where you just explore and eat are the best. Just looked up the menu for Wanderlust and oooh, YUM! The ube ice cream is totally my childhood. 🙂 Which flavor did you get?
There’s so many bodily functions which I previously thought were super gross that just roll off me like water off a duck’s back now. Handling poop was a challenge for me, even more so than throw up. (The “let’s explore poo” phase was rough. I will never forget the time I walked into her room and found her, her crib, all of her stuffies and bedding covered in SO MUCH POOP.) Oh, and the throw up… I’ve gotten really good at catching it with my hands or whatever’s nearby. I learned something new last night when I had her in bed with me (El Hub’s been sleeping on the couch downstairs, and I’ve had her with me so I can hear her if she needs help). Anyway, I learned that covering the mattress with a few big beach towels is KEY. That way if she vomits, I can just roll up whatever gets thrown up on, and then I can stick it in the wash right away instead of stripping the sheets and replacing them in the middle of the night. I also learned it’s helpful to have a large stack of towels and a couple garbage bags right next to the bed.
Yes, for the beach towels! I used to do that too. I had a really large Tupperware container that I lost the lid to and that became our “barf bucket” and we’d put that next to the bed for whoever was sick. I don’t mind blood, I don’t mind poop and pee, but barf still gets to me. I think it’s the smell.
The girl behind the counter let us taste whatever we wanted. So I think I tasted all of them except for the violette marshmallow. Lol. The Ube was good. Actually all of them were good. I could have eaten there all day. They do half scoops which are the size of golf balls. So I got the Japanese Neapolitan (matcha, hojicha and black sesame) and the Vietnamese coffee Rocky Road (because coffee!!!). Dear Husband isn’t as adventurous food so he got the Smoky Road and Kinder . The Kinder tasted exactly like a Kinder chocolate bar.
That’s such a good idea! I have quite a few rando Tupperwares which I let Coywolf use for “container play” (what is it with toddlers and containers? LOL!), so I’m going to reclaim the biggest one. GENIUS.
I would be all over the Vietnamese coffee flavor, the Earl Grey and the Thai tea. Oh, and the Genmaicha Rice Crispy (yet another flavor from my childhood). Next time I’m in LA I’ll try to make a trip down there!
Now I want ice cream!
Sorry about making you crave ice cream. I tried all the tea flavors and it was really hard to choose between them. Every single one was perfection.
Haha, that’s nothing new. Ice cream is one of my top 3 dessert choices. If I lived near that shop it would be DANGEROUS! We live 10 minutes away from a Baskin Robbins and even though it’s not fancy, it’s still one of my favorite places for a sweet treat.
