Hey there, friend. Happy Saturday! Rosie girl sends sweet greetings…
This is her happy face, I swear. 😺 Her body language says she loves me, but her RBF says otherwise, ha ha ha!
Connor and I talked about it at length yesterday when we were hunting for wildflowers in our neighborhood (“Mama, Rosie likes you, but she loves me the most because she chose *me* as her special person.”)
If you’re in Northern California in the spring, you’ll see these purple flowers everywhere — blooming all over the hills, along roads, and even in the middle of parking lots! I think they’re called lupine (?), and there’s huge patches of them where we live.
I noticed yesterday that some of the flowers have pods on the stems that look like mini peas. I grabbed a few pods hoping to grow some in our front yard someday. Ya never know!
When we got back from our walk, we put our wildflower bouquet in a jar of water on the kitchen windowsill, and then Connor helped me bake a funky-lookin’ gluten-free blueberry lemon loaf.
It’s rustic looking, a.k.a. “photogenically challenged,” so while it’s not the prettiest, it’s melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a cup of Earl Grey tea.
Hmm… Now that I think about it, a slice sounds good for breakfast, so while I get my yum on, please enjoy your reading for the week.

A tutorial with, not one, but two different eye looks! And it’s with one of my favorite UD palettes, Born to Run.

Another one, BECAUSE I LOVE HER!
So much big hair. I kinda want to do this just for fun.
Probably not a great idea to watch this while my tummy’s rumbling, but what the haaaaay.
My favorite was “cookie”.

Whatcha got planned for today?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Love everything about this whole post! The gluten-free blueberry lemon loaf looks amazing. An I ask where you found the recipe?
Hi! So with all the isolation going on I felt so bad for my sister who has two young boys, not to mention how bored they might be! So I am using the time to write funny illustrated stories where they can print out the pics and color 🙂 I am sharing them with my friends with young kids and was thinking Connor might like them too (there are a couple of cat ones too)! if you take a look I hope she enjoys :)! Stay safe and well!

Hi! Sorry-I went on and saw google was having issues with my platform, so some of my images weren’t coming through. I think they are fixed now, but am also linking to my favorite cat one (this one doesn’t seem to be affected) which I think you will enjoy 🙂

Actually, my skin has improved in quarantine! Probably because I’ve been hands-off, other than cleansing and moisturizing.
Your lemon loaf looks amazing. I’m craving everything lemon right now, which I do every spring.
I’m off to shop the Sephora Spring Savings Event. Perhaps that CT blush will land in my cart.
Hi Karen, these are indeed lupines – and just a quick fyi: they are very toxic for both humans and cats, especially the pods afaik. Just give it a quick google to be on the safe side, especially if Rosie is the type of cat that nibbles on everything green! Have a good weekend!
Okay have you seen some of the TikToks of girls doing makeup while lip syncing to John Mulaney? It’s pretty interesting!
I don’t have a signature scent but I’d probably keep wearing it. I’m really picky, I don’t have time to find new ones! Though there are ones I like but don’t buy because they’re too associated with someone else I know who wears or wore it (my former mentor who passed away often wore J’Adore by Dior and the smell just is associated with her. She often wore Michael Kors too).
Could you share that recipe
Could you share the recipe? It looks so delicious and I would love to make it for my friend. 😊
I FEEL that story about perfume! I was really into Light Blue by Dolce and Gabanna until it seemed EVERYONE was wearing it. I still wore it occasionally, but it lost it’s sparkle for me when it went so mainstream. This winter I fell in love with Si by Georgia Armani. It is so perfect for me! Red is my favorite color, I have Spanish heritage, the moody notes are neither fem nor masc, it’s amaze. I feel like a Spanish Queen. It feels a bit heavy for Spring, though so then I got into Saint by KVD. I found it on accident! I was grabbing some things from the KVD sale and added the mini Saint/Sinner to my cart. I loooooooove Saint, I wear it most days and sometimes even to bed! I asked for a bigger bottle for my birthday so we’ll see! <3
I’m so glad to hear that Rosie has chosen Connor as her special person – I know you were hoping for that as well. <3 We had a bit of snow (just flurries) in the past week so we're not there yet with the flowers. It'll be very welcome, though! And Rosie's happy face cracked me up. She kind of looks like she wants to EAT your face. HAHA!
